The spool is empty, but in place and in good condition. A lot of the original paint is missing, machine is quite rusted. A lot of cleaning and rust removal would change the look. Early German Childs Toy Sewing Machine, Super Condition, Great Stenciling
You're bidding on an estate fresh German toy sewing machine. The toy is in wonderful original condition. The machine measures 7 1/2" long. 7 1/4" high, and 4 1/2" wide. As you can see the stenciling is super. The one flaw is the drip of the original japan finish used to coat the piece after the paint and stenciling were put on. This drip is pictured and is in the manufacturing of the piece. Muller #1 German pre WWI miniature childs toy sewing machine
Up for bid is a nice Muller#1 childs toy sewing machine. It was made between 1895-1914 by the FW Muller company in Berlin. Germany. The machine has the front crank and has feed dogs to transport the fabric through the machine. It is missing the spool tension spring& nut, thread guides and the original needle. There is however a needle in the machine and it turns and advances the fabric. I believe the number on the plate is 119486. My mother passed away in 2003 after a 5-year battle with kidney disease. She was a skilled seamstress who also excelled at needlepoint. Knitting and gourmet cooking. She was my crafts teacher as well. Starting in the 1960s she and my dad got into collectibles and visited antique shops all along the mid-Atlantic from VA to PA. My mother naturally leaned toward sewing collectibles and she had great taste and a good eye. She displayed treasures all over the house. As her only daughter, I inherited them after she passed away. I planned to sew and do needlework as she did after I retired. However, I've developed eye problems that leave me pretty much legally blind. I have no daughter to give these collectibles to and my lovely daughters-in-law are not into sewing or needlework. I re-evaluated my priorities and decided to find these collectibles ... morea new home where they are appreciated. I think my mother would agree. This gorgeous antique child's sewing machine has no identifying marks except for"61" mold# stamped on the bottom on one foot. This machine weighs over 5 lbs. Has ornate brass fixtures and is the cadillac of child's sewing machines- obviously intended for the daughter of a wealthy family. I am no expert but something tells me it was manufactured in Europe: Germany, Switzerland, France, England. It is cast iron, brass and steel. The crank turns easily via a wooden handle. It even appears to have its needle intact and is decorated with gold and painted roses. I have no clue if it is missing parts or how to make it work. This is a Muller toy sewing machine made pre-WWII in Germany. It is a rare red color. The decals appear to be complete but the finish is crinkled or bumpy. I don't know if this was original or not. The red color is bright and shiny. This machine is heavy(over seven pounds) cast metal. It appears to have all its parts and the hand wheel turns very smoothly. The metal parts are a little rust but they would clean up easily. Please refer to the photos for details. It is in as found condition. Darling German Mueller Vintage Toy Sewing Machine SHIPS INSURED for FREE!
This beautiful vintage child's sewing machine is from the renowned German toy company. Muller(also sold as Mueller) where we found, in our research, that each of the early pieces like this one. Were painted by hand, by one of 12 artists. As you can see. This wonderful tin sewing machine is covered in colorful Art-Deco style handpainting. We cannot imagine how revolutionary it must have been when the first sewing machine was invented by Isaac Merritt Singer in 1851. Founded in 1910. Muller would become one of the best-selling toy makers of the 20th century. Their children's sewing machines were often later characterized by whimsical embellishment. As this was technically considered a"learning" machine for young ladies new to the domestic arts. It features a lot of fun details that wouldn't normally be seen on a full-sized ... moresewing machine. The black. Tin plated body of the machine is covered in vibrant hand-painted imagery. You can see that both sides of the upright"arm" are decorated with a floral design which features classic Art Deco linear patterns. The colors range from red and green to a highly-reflective gold. The paint has not been worn. And is in beautiful condition with the exception of 4 scratches to the gold line on the back plate. Which we are told can be restored, but could decrease the value if done improperly, so we left them alone. The"table" or bottom part shows smaller flowery decoration at each corner. Impressed marks on the silver-tone"needle-plate" include the iconic Muller Stamp. With the Model Number inscribed. The base features the"Made in Germany" Painted into the artwork While we don't recommend over-handling the piece. It still works well. The silver-tone needle-plate and wheel exhibit some very light spotting. While other metallic components show some very slight discoloration tiny rust-spots. ANTIQUE TIN PLATE CHILD'S TOY SEWING MACHINE circa early 1900's Wonderful antique child's toy sewing machine. Which was produced. In Germany. This item is marked"Made in Germany" The machine has a heavy footed black base and body which has been delightfully decorated with daisy type flowers in green. Red and gold colors. The machine has a chrome crank handle and plate. All parts are original. There is screw missing that holds the sewing plate in place and the knob to turn the wheel is also missing. The paint is in good condition. The paint has a few minor chips along the bottom and there is one area on the main part where it looks to have been scraped. The metal on the outside of the wheel has some rust on it. The other unpainted metal parts appear to have some light rust to them. The sewing plate does appears to have ... moresome oxidation rather than rust. The underside of the sewing plate has light rust. I have done nothing to try to clean this sewing machine and will leave that up to its new owner. The machine is marked to the chrome plate with No. 183532. AGE. I understand this model is hard to come by and was made in the early 1900's SIZE The machine measures approx 7¼" wide. 4" deep and 7 1/2" high. I was told by an eBay member that the"hook" and its setting doesn't seem to be on this machine. I do not know much about sewing machines. So I wanted to pass this information on. Up for auction is this vintage, probably 1940's or 1950's, toy sewing machine Diana Made in Germany Schuphoff Original. The wood base is 8.5" x 4.5" and the metal machine is 6" tall x 6.5" x 3" On both side it is marked Diana with a stencil and the sewing plate is etched Schuphoff Original. I had this up in our attic, since I no longer have a toy room to display. There is some scuffing from display and storage, and some scratches and paint peeling, not too bad-you can see this in pictures. You can turn the wheel on back and the needle moves up and down. This tiny"Little Giant" antique toy sewing machine was made by F.W. Muller. Berlin Germany 1918-1920. It comes in its original box along with its original sweet little heart screwdriver, clamp, and brochure. Stamped"Made in Germany" on the base in gold paint. Number in plate 247754. However the little sewing machine was referred to as No. 0. Measurements: 5" high x 1 1/2" deep(base) x 4 1/2"wide. Wheel 2" diam. Box: 5 1/2" x 5" The box cover has a wonderful colored graphic of mother. Child and the little machine. Below center is stamped"Made in Germany" The brochure or advertisement was tucked inside the box. It was clipped from Comfort Magazine. Augusta, Maine. The little machine was a premium for 4 one year subscriptions to their magazine. Condition: Machine is in wonderful working ... morecondition. Nice gold graphics. No rust that I can see. The base has a few very miniscule scrapes. No repainting. All parts original. Clamp is like new. Screwdriver is a little tiny bit tweaked on the tip. Hard to see but I do want to mention it. Brochure/advertisement is brown with age and fragile. It can be handled easily with care. The full page is complete and fascinating to read.
