It is in working condition and came off of an Oak Cabinet with cast iron Treadle machine base. The Oak veneer and some of the wooden aspects of the cabinet were in worn condition but previous. This Machine is very clean and all parts appear to move and function as intended. The metal rod that holds the thread was misplace when previous owner was readying it for sale. There is some paint/ decal wear but overall the colors and design are still strong. the bobbin is present as is the needle. This is a Rare Antique Singer Treadle Only Sewing Machine Head. Model 27 with Sphinx decals. Serial number L69633 dates this machine to February 2. 1901. L" series serial number were only released in 1901. This is a"treadle only" machine. It does NOT have a hub(boss) located below the balance to mount a hand crank or motor. This machine has been properly cleaned and oiled. It is now 100% functional! The timing was checked and it sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I even took the bobbin case a part and cleaned it so it has smooth thread draw. It sewed 6 layers of denim with ease. The stitch is equal on both sides. Overall. ... moreThe paint has a semi-flat appearance. The decals are mostly in tact with some wear on the deck and across the upper top where it is lifted from the cabinet. There is common wear and scratches and nicks from use. The decals are a little darker on the backside. All chrome pieces have a dark, aged appearance with some blemishes. Some parts like the bobbin plates and bobbin winder are darker than others. The nose and round plates are in good condition with mild discoloration. The bobbin covers have a dark worn finish along the right edge. The front bobbin plate may slide out when lowered into a cabinet. The chrome on the balance wheel has small rust dots. The machine is a little dirty in the grooves and hard to reach spots. It comes with 1 bobbin. The bobbin winder has been oiled, tested and works. There is no manual. Watch the video! This thing isn't the prettiest. But its a beast. This is rocking at full speed! If you want an old singer that you can use, this is what you need. No one would believe me if I told you how many hours I spent scrubbing rust and dust off of this thing. You can always put new decals on it. I just like it old fashioned as it was found. So I would be lying if I said this looks perfect. It was just what I call previously"LOVED" I don't like the tern used, It will last forever. If you take care of it. What i have here is a rare. And beautiful 1906 Singer Sewing Machine. It comes with the original manuals, and accessories"puzzle box" There are also a few loose pieces that were found in the draws that are included in which i'm not sure where they go. Vintage Singer Sphinx Egyptian Revival Sewing Machine Model 27 Looks Great! Vintage Singer model 27 Sphinx sewing machine in great condition. Serial# on this machine is G9581940. Which dates its manufacture to 1911. There is a bit of wear to the gold decal on the front center edge and on the wing of the sphinx just below where the thread would be placed. In both cases, it is from use. However, the remainder of the design is in great condition and very strong. The bobbin to this machine is not present, but one can easily be obtained. This machine has not be electrified and would operate with a treadle. When moving the wheel, the needle does go up and down, but it could use a bit of lubrication. Singer 127 27 Sphinx Treadle DRIP OIL PAN CATCH TRAY all mounts included
Original Singer Sphinx Treadle Drip Pan with mounts! I recovered this sad. Forgotten, and neglected machine from an antique dealer in my area. It was stored away in his warehouse for too many years. Unfortunately, the machine has lost most of its decals, and the base is gone. But, the drawers and other wood pieces are in fine shape and cleaned up quite nicely. I hope these pieces can find a good home. The drip pan being offered here is dressed with a beautiful dark wood stain. There are 4 mounts. 2 on each side that are used to screw into the bottom of the table top. One screw is missing(you can see this in the 2nd to last picture) but it does not affect its ability to hang properly. If you're picky about having it, a replacement should cost about a dime and can be easily found at your local hardware store. The veneer is very nice overall- ... more99% intact and attched(no need to reglue it anywhere) It does have a slight crack, which I tried to show in the last picture. The pan measures 18" long x 15" wide x 7" deep. It may fit other models, but I am unsure of which so please check your measurements. SHIPPING CHARGES WILL BE REFUNDED IF OVERPAID! 1892 Singer Sewing Machine #27, 5 drawer coffin top cab. Vibratng shuttle sphinx
The machine has the lovely Sphinx emblem/motif. It is AKA as Memphis or Egyptian. The serial number is 10.962,957. I looked this up on a chart and determined that this is a 1892 model 27 machine. Serial numbers without a letter prefix were all made pre1900. The 27 series was Singer's first use of a vibrating shuttle as a bobbin driver, instead of the transverse shuttle design used in the older'New Family' machine according to Wikipedia. Due to the size and weight of the machine, I am listing this as a local pick up only. The machine is in Aurora, IL near Rt. 59 on the Naperville border. The machine could use some oiling. I do not have the instruction book but you could print it out from online sources. 1901 Singer Sewing Machine Model 27 Sphinx: cabinet+access incl/no treadle
This is a Singer Sphinx Model 27. Serial number L 969294. According to the Singer website, it was manufactured in 1901. The machine was retrofitted so that the treadle has been removed and had an electric motor/pedal attached. Unfortunately. The motor gave out, but I got a lot of great sewing done on it before the electric components failed. The machine itself is still in great shape. If you wanted to use it, you would just need to install a new motor. I have a bag of what I believe are the original accessories. The cabinet is solid wood and has wear on its finish. The detailing on the machine also shows wear. That said. I got a lot of great use out of it, and it is a very pretty machine- especially the sphinxes! Local pickup in Brooklyn.

Serial number H1122360 dates this machine to March 5. 1907. I offer 10 years experience servicing sewing machines! I also list all"detailed" positives and negatives. So there are no surprises when your machine arrives. I even provide video proof that this machine works! This is a"treadle only" machine. It does NOT have a hub(boss) located below the balance wheel to mount a hand crank or motor. This machine has been properly cleaned and oiled. It is now 100% functional! Model 27-4 for a Treadle Sewing Machine. The Serial number is B1522520 which dates it to 12-01-1905. And it was made at the Elizabeth, NJ, factory. It uses the shuttle type Bobbin. And has one in it. The Sphinx decals are in good condition for its age. They only show wear and slight stencil loss on the back side from where the lid rested on it in the down stored position. As you can see in the photos. The plated metal parts have tarnish, not rust, and they should buff out to look new if new owner so chooses. The foot raises and lowers and the shuttle moves back and forth freely. It feeds fabric through okay. I did not thread it and try to sew a stitch with it ... morebut it should sew okay after a good cleaning and oiling. However. I cannot guarantee that it will sew well. Antique Singer 27-4 Sphinx Treadle Sewing Machine
I don't know much about this antique Singer treadle sewing machine except for the fact it's somewhat rare. I'm told it's the sphinx style machine in an exotic lotus 7 drawer cabinet. I believe the cabinet was made between 1907 and 1920. It looks to be in good shape for the age of it. It has 6 side drawers and one center. The wooden cabinet is overall in good shape with no major breaks or dings. The finish appears to be original. The belt from the treadle to the machine looks very old and is broken so we aren't able to test it. One plate on the machine is missing. And one wheel on the bottom of the leg is missing. Otherwise everything seems to be all there. Some of the paint on the machine is missing. And the wood near the hinge is a little brittle. This makes a wonderful decoration in any home just as it is. Or with a ... morelittle effort you can have a functional, foot powered antique sewing machine! Due to the size and weight of this piece. I prefer local pickup only. I can also deliver it within a few hours in my truck. If you absolutely must have it shipped, I can fashion a well padded crate for it and ship at the buyers expense. Vintage 1896 Singer Sewing Machine - Model 27 - S.N. 13455286 ELECTRIC sphinx
hello for your consideration is this antique singer model 27 sphinx sewing machine.that some one has converted to an electric machine with a universal 1 amp motor.they did some changes like added a light used a different hand wheel and relocated the bobbin winder using a mount off another machine.it will sew very well when they bolted the motor to the side of the machine theres not much adjustment for the belt and its a little loose.you could take the motor off and use a dremel to make more of an adjustment if this doesnt sell i will part the machine out any questions please feel fee to ask thanks.
