Antique Singer Red Eye Treadle Sewing Machine Head Antique Singer Red Eye Treadle Sewing Machine Head I found an old Singer treadle sewing machine in a barn sale. I've separated the head from the cabinet and treadle and am parting this out. It was in rough shape as you can tell by the picture. But I've cleaned everything up and taken all the decades of grime off of it. The head is surprisingly in very good condition with great graphics- but I haven't done anything with it mechanically since that is out of my league. Please check out my other auctions for all of the pieces parts that I will be listing from this unit. In this auction you are viewing the sewing head. The model number is GOO85634. I have not done anything to this machine other than remove some of the grime that had coated it. Amazingly enough the graphics were in ... morevery good condition with lots of color. The bobbin plate is missing. I was able to engage the movement by turning the wheel in the back. I would think this would need a thorough cleaning and oiling if you wanted to use it. Of course you could always part it out. But from what I see you only would need to clean and oil this and replace the plate to make this baby sing. There is a gob of white paint on the neck that I didn't want to mess with. It's latex and should come off easily, but I know that everyone cleans things differently and I don't want to mess with the original finish. Antique 1895 Singer Model 27 VS Treadle Sewing Machine Head 118 Years Old! Offered for auction is an Antique 1895 Singer Model 27 VS Sewing Machine Head The auction is for the machine head only and the treadle cabinet is NOT included! Machine has been tested and functions correctly. This is how a bobbin is wound The machine was test sewn and produced nice stitches. The machines stitch length control is the round knob over the bobbin winder, Turning the knob all the way in increases the stitch length and turning it our reduces the stitch length, The machine can produce stitches from 6-30 stitches per inch. This is what is being offered for auction. The machine head which includes the shuttle and 1 bobbin, The cabinet shown in the above pics is not included, We used that to test sew with the machine Serial number 13301076 dates the machine ... moreto 1895 that make it 118 years old The machine uses standard low shank attachments which is the most common system Singer used for over 150 years and the system which is the most common shank system used today. The machine also uses the common 15x1 flat shank needles which are the current modern day system we use now, The machine will accept needles sizes 9-21 The machine is missing the round rear cover inspection plate. These are a standard size and can be found on ebay quite regularly, The machine can be used without the cover plate and it does not hurt the function to use it without it. This machine is a treadle machine and does not have the raised boss with the threaded hole for a motor or handcrank. Some of these models were equipped with a hand crank that had a special mounting system that was part of the handwheel pulley shroud, This machine is being sold for use in a treadle cabinet. This Antique Treadle Sphinx Sewing Machine Head has been gently restored. Everything on the machine moves freely but it has not been tested in use. The high resolution pictures can be zoomed in to view details. What does gently restored mean? The overall objective is to preserve as much as the old tool or item with its lifetime patina as possible without the use of power tools. This machine was cleaned using mineral oil. After letting the oil“soak in” for a day or so. It was wiped cleaned with a dry cloth. A couple of items should be noted. This gentle process does not remove all rust or dirt, etc, as there is always a balance of limiting restoration to not affect patina. This machine may have residual oil left in the cleaning process. This listing is for an antique Singer sewing machine. I do not know anything about these but from what I can tell one of the slide plates and needle is missing. Everything else seems fine. It has some signs of wear and needs cleaned up but when I turn the wheel the mechanism moves up and down like it should. Ships to USA only, paypal only. A 1914 hand crank red eye singer model 66. Serial#G3807136. Comes with a beautiful wooden case that has a working key and 4 bobbins! One of the hinges of the case is broken. The crank works great! The needle moves smoothly. But i can't seem to thread the bobbin out to the top. You can wind the bobbin, but you just need to put pressure on that specific part where it winds the bobbin. ANTIQUE VINTAGE 1916 SINGER 66 RED EYE TREADLE SEWING MACHINE HEAD with BASE As far as I can tell this is a functioning machine. CONDITION: I did a limited test on loading the bobbin. Even though the rubber drive wheel seems like it should be replaced it still drives the bobbin without slipping. I tested the stitching and it has equal stitch on both sides. Decals show some wear. Others are crisp. The outside of the machine needs more cleaning· The bobbin area is fairly clean. See pictures. The machine is lubricated· I made a stand for the machine. It is nothing fancy. But it does the job. It is made from 1” PVC board and needs to be painted better than I did. I am not an expert in sewing machines. In the last couple of days I learned enough to test it. In order to see if it is OK to sell. I learned that some sellers claim that their ... moremachines have free motion. But that does not mean that they will sew properly. Without seeing the stitch pattern you cannot be positive that it will work properly without some kind of repair. One problem that can happen in these machines is that the needle movement and shuttle get out of synch. If they are not properly synchronized. The needle will not pick up the bobbin thread or it may skip stitches here and there. Among other problems. The stitching may not be equal. So you do need to know what you are buying. This is one of the best looking Antique Singer Treadle Red Eye sewing machines I have seen at recent estate sales. The decals look very good with more wear on the backside of the unit. The Singer plate is present on the front rear and is readable. The silver looking ornate plate on the front is clean and secure, the Serial number is present and readable. Also the silver looking cover plate on the rear back is present in good shape but does show some patina appropriate for the age(shown in pic 5) The wheel turns manually back and forth and needle moves accordingly. That is the only functional testing that was conducted. Sewing machine head only. In working condition. Moves freely. I've given it a basic dusting and an oiling, but it could use a good cleaning. It has surface rust on the endcap of the handwheel. It has chips in the enamel along the edge. It needs a new spring in the bobbin winder, it is the one that keeps the whole mechanism up. The one that snaps back when the bobbin is full works. SINGER SPHINX HEAD ONLY ANTIQUE TREADLE SEWING MACHINE PARTS OR REPAIR
I'm not an expert on sewing machines. From what I can see. This one seems to be reparable. When the large wheel is turned the needle receptacle moves up and down, the mechanism underneath moved back and forth and the"thread arm" moves up and down. There are some problems; the spindle on top is missing, the plate above the needle is bent on the top corner. There is general wear and soiling to the machine. Beyond that, I really don't know much. The last patent date listed is 1891. There should be a belt attached to the wheel on the end. Foreign postage will be higher.
