This Singer Sewing Machine Oak Cabinet Coffin Cover was found at an estate sale and is in good structual condition. The finish is original and the color is uniform throughout. It does have some scratches and flaws in the finish. All the hardware is there, including the positioning lugs and lock which works properly. Beautiful old sewing machine Singer Georgian Hand Crank w/ Oak Coffin Lid Case. This is the Georgian 28K model named for King George. Serial number V662138. Dates to late 1910. Made in Scotland. Includes the coffin style lid and key, 3 bobbins, and needle. Also an attachment, maybe a zigzag attachment, not sure. It is 17 inches long. 9 1/2 wide, 12 tall and it weighs 33 pounds. Condition: The machine appears to operate as it should but we have not threaded it to test the actual sewing. Overall it is scratched and worn. The case is nice but the top has chipped corners. The serial number is 478142(see on the close-up photo showing patent dates and serial number. It has the original drawer pulls. It comes with many extras such as the coffin cover, a solid oak puzzle box case with attachments, a vintage soap box filled with attachments, two(2) manuals, a tin oil can, and miscellanious extras I found in the drawer. It features six(6) drawers, 3 on either side, it's treadle powered. It has wear to the wood as can be expected for it's age. One manual is in very worn condition, the other is good but has a torn page. It'll need ... morea good cleaning. I have not tested it. Sold as is. 1898 Antique Willcox & Gibbs Coffin Top Treadle Chainstitch Sewing Machine Nice!
This is an antique Willcox& Gibbs"Coffin Top" treadle chain stitch sewing machine in excellent running condition. It appears to be all original with the exception of one wheel on the front right metal base. The sewing machine runs smoothly and still has most of its' gold decals and original factory gloss finish intact. There is very little paint loss and it has it has the beautiful scalloped base. The serial number B543826 dates it to 1898. Included is the key. Needle wrench, a sample of its' stitching and a reprint of the owner's manual and directions. Singer Sewing Machine For your consideration I have a hand cranked sewing machine with Vincendora red. Green and gold decals. It comes with the coffin lid and key. There are several attachments that are pictured. Also included are 14 bobbins and 6 extra needles. The serial number is hard to read but it starts with a G dating the machine to the 1920s. The decals on this machine are very pretty and vibrant. See pictures. The hand crank is not original to this the machine but fits great. The bobbin shuttle is present and looks good. I can not get the needle to move up and down so it will need some work. The screws that hold the machine to the wood base are missing. The case has had a portion in the back cut out probably to electrify. I am not an expert on these machines but will do my best to answer your questions. The Cabinet is in Beautiful condition, especially for being a 121 years old. Dates 1892) The machine itself, most of the decals are faded or gone, and some of the black paint has worn off the base, but no rust. It has been cleaned and oiled and runs beautifully. Up for auction is a museum quality Singer treadle sewing machine. All parts are original except the iron extension support bracket The drawers are in beautiful shape. The machine has some of the nicest original graphics I've seen. I am a retired sign painter turned sewing machine repairman. The gold you see is hand painted. You are looking at months of restoration. It has a new belt and it treadles nicely. The Mother of Pearl is plentiful and nice. It will stitch only 50% of the stitches. Still working on that. Antique 1881 White VS Treadle Sewing Machine-Coffin Top-2 Drawers+Extension Leaf
This is an antique White brand treadle sewing machine with the VS(vibrating shuttle) head with the curved base in the area underneath the hand wheel. The slide plate has a last patent date of 1881 with previous dates being from the 1870's. It has the"coffin top" style box lid with"White" on it. It has the 2-drawer table with metal ring drawer pulls plus a fold-up extension leaf with metal swing-down support for it. This machine is in good original condition and works/sews great! This machine was in the old sewing machine store I bought in 2005. And it was used as a display in the window of his store for many years(the store opened in 1959! The wood is in good shape and doesn't appear to ever have been refinished or altered, and the rest of the machine, including the head and irons, are also original without any ... moreserious cleaning or restoration performed. I have merely wiped off some(but not all! of the dust and applied a bit of lemon oil to the wood to keep it from being too dry. The head has some decal loss as expected with age, but some of the gold lettering and decoration is present and lovely! There is some loss to the silver of the hand wheel, also normal with use. This model has a metal pitman. I do have a leather treadle belt that seems to be in good shape, but be aware these do get brittle with age but are cheaply replaced as they are widely available. At this time, I am only interested in local pick-up or meeting within a couple of hours of where I am located in Northeast Arkansas near the Jonesboro area(I am in Paragould) I am also near the Missouri boot heel, about 75 miles northwest of Memphis, TN, and 150 miles Northeast of Little Rock, AR. I will meet someone within 2-3 hours for.50/mile for my trip both ways since it would be a special trip for me in a gas-hog large vehicle in order to haul this. 1892 Singer Sewing Machine #27, 5 drawer coffin top cab. Vibratng shuttle sphinx
The machine has the lovely Sphinx emblem/motif. It is AKA as Memphis or Egyptian. The serial number is 10.962,957. I looked this up on a chart and determined that this is a 1892 model 27 machine. Serial numbers without a letter prefix were all made pre1900. The 27 series was Singer's first use of a vibrating shuttle as a bobbin driver, instead of the transverse shuttle design used in the older'New Family' machine according to Wikipedia. Due to the size and weight of the machine, I am listing this as a local pick up only. The machine is in Aurora, IL near Rt. 59 on the Naperville border. The machine could use some oiling. I do not have the instruction book but you could print it out from online sources. This is a gorgeous antique singer sewing machine dated 1909 in good working condition. The original design work is not perfect a shown in the pictures but is still very beautiful. The coffin case in NOT original. The gentleman I bought this from hand made the box to replace the missing original one. I'm not sure. But it looks like the handles and lock and key he used are antique pieces. This does have a working lock and key. While I have not sewn with it when I bought it they showed me it worked by sewing several stiches into a piece of cloth and I left the machine threaded. This is a single drawer(under table) variety with coffin-style dome lid. This piece has a really cool back story- this comes as the original top of a floor model machine from a local sewing dealer. The dealer shop ran in the family from the later part of the 1800's until the 1950's. They closed up shop, but the family retained the business and this machine sat untouched for 60 years. Cast iron treadle base does have some rust. Serial# A317406. Last patent date 1871. Moving parts move. Old Coffin Top Sewing Machine Last Patented on August 16 1983 Pick up only. Pick up in Lancaster SC. 29720 This piece shows very well. There is a sepreat box containing all the accessories. This box was found in one of the drawers. Please see all pictures. The last picture shows where someone put down a can or something on it to form a ring. If you notice in the first picture, I have two antique books I place over the area. This piece has a flaw in the left top drawer, iit is missing part of the bottom of the drawer. This drawer contained the attachment box so I didn't even know the flaw existed. Please see pictures.it does not affect the beauty of this piece. In 1958 Singer purchased the factory and sewing machine business of the Haid-und-Neu company in Karlsruhe. Germany. Haid-und-Neu had been manufacturing sewing machines in Karlsruhe since the 1860’s and had purpose built the existing factory in 1893. By the mid 1960’s a series of rationalisations began so that by the time the factory closed in 1982 the workforce had been reduced to around 450. The buildings were demolished soon after the closure. Machines produced at the Karlsruhe factory were identified by a suffix G added to their model numbers. i.e. 215G. Serial numbers took the form of PA. Nice 1905 Hand Crank Singer Sewing Machine From England With A "Coffin" Case
This auction is for a nice& older model Hand Crank Singer Sewing Machine complete with it's Mahogany"Coffin" style carring case from England. It works smoothly and all moving parts move freely. It has a serail number of J1561261 which dates it made in 1905. The case is in overall good condition and flip type laspe still works to secure the lid. The decals are good overall with some being slightly damaged or rubbed off. It still has it's bobbin& scuttle and still has it's"sidewinder bobbin" winder. These make wonderful item for display in your home or sewing room plus it will still work if you care to give it a try. The only defect I could find is there is some very minor pitting on the metal of the base and some of the decals are worn. I would say that 90 to 95% of the decals are still good to very ... moregood. It has a medium dark MahoganyPatina to the case. The Base is in very good condition without any signs of rot or worm damage. Antique Willcox & Gibbs Sewing Machine "Tiger Oak Coffin Cover" Good Condition
This Vintage Willcox& Gibbs Sewing Machine Tiger Oak Coffin Cover was found at an auction. And is one of the nicest I've seen. There are some scratches, skuffs, marks, repairs on one side, and a hair line crack in the top, but the Cover is otherwise structurally sound and in very good condition. The wood is called Tiger Oak which is quarter sawn(log sawed in quarters) and is a very desirable type of wood used in fine furniture. The Cover has raised panels on 4 sides, and very detailed moldings, the finish is original and the color is medium brown, and is uniform throughout. The Positioning Hardware and Lock are in place, and the Lock operates properly. I don't have a key, but the Lock can be operated with a small screw driver. The W& G logo on the inside is in excellent condition, like it was applied yesterday. The center ... moreto center dimension on the Positioning Hardware is 12" the distance between the Positioning Hardware and the Lock is approximately 10 3/8" the Lock is centered on the Cover. The overall dimensions of the Cover are 17 1/2" X 11 1/4" X 9 1/2"H. If your looking for a good Cover for your Willcox& Gibbs Sewing Machine. This unique, wooden, coffin style encased, sewing machine is from 1897, determined by its serial number 14 121 904. It has a patent engraving from 1886. The sewing machine is not perfect. It shows 118 years of age and wear. The black paint has some chips and the decals are heavily worn. However. This gem still works great. My wife threaded the machine and it was able to sew a piece of felt she had. She was amazed at the bullet style bobbin and how well it worked. We are also including what appears to be at least a vintage, if not antique, spool of J&P Coats green thread. It also has an old tag listing the price at 15 English Pounds and a key that ... morelooks to be homemade of aluminum. I have no idea what the key is for, but the tag indicates this sewing machine was in England at one time. It is my understanding this Singer Sewing machine was manufactured in the Singer Manufacturing plant in Kilbowie Clydebank. Scotland in 1897. The wood case is in really nice condition. But has a few gouges and imperfections, and has a hidden compartment inside the lid to store accessories. The handles, and latches work perfectly. This is one of the nicest sewing machine cases I have seen- great workmanship. This machine in the wooden box weighs just over 33 pounds. Singer 99 Sewing Machine Heavy Duty 4 Layer Leather Capable w/Coffin Case
This model 99 Singer is an ugly duckling on the outside. But once it begins to sew, it turns into a beautiful swan. This thing sews some of the best stitches I have ever seen, and not only through regular material, but even through suede leather. Better still, it is so heavy duty that it will sew through 4 LAYERS of suede! Read that again, 4 layers of suede leather! Can your machine do that? I doubt it, but this swan of a machine sure can, and I'll send along the swatches so you will have no doubt about its capabilities. Now just because this isn't the prettiest machine you ever saw doesn't mean it is mechanically ugly. It has solid metal gears. And they don't really look all that worn. How do I know? I lubed up ever moving part including the MOTOR BEARINGS, the rotary shuttle and even the bobbin winder, which has been tested ... moreand it works. I converted it to a foot pedal model, but I'll leave the original knee kicker control inside, so you can retro fit it if you want to. Here are the brass parts from the top of an antique coffin top treadle sewing machine. the 2 caps in the back that would receive the clips on the bottom of the coffin top are a hard find as many have been smashed down inadvertantly over time. there is also the 2 belt guides and the lock cover eschutcheon which is slightly bent imn middle. measured from the bottom where it fit's into the top it is 1" in diameter. the belt guides are 7/8" in diameter& the caps are 3/4" in diameter. shipping to the 50 states with tracking is $2.95. This Vintage Singer Model 12(1873) Treadle Sewing Machine"Walnut Coffin Cover" was part of a machine that was found at an auction. It is in good condition with some nicks. Scratches, and a insignificant horizontal crack on the top. The color, a dark walnut, is uniform throughout. It is structurally sound with no lifting or loose wood. All the Brass Hardware is in place and is in good condition, including the Lock which operates properly. It also has the Original Singer Label on the inside of the top. The center to center spacing on the Brass Positioning Hardware is 10 3/4" and the distance of this hardware to the lock is 10 3/4" The overall approximate dimensions of the Cover is 17 1/4" X 11 1/4" X 9 1/2"H If your looking for a good Cover for your Singer Treadle. It was manufactured into the early 1900's. During that time it was known as just a vibrating shuttle machine.
