Antique American Waltham National Eldredge Sewing Machine Bobbin Feed Dog Cover
This is a Set of Antique Treadle Sewing Machine Bobbin and Feed Dog Covers. It fits National. Eldredge, American, Waltham, Brunswick and all models with the same"exact" body pictured regardless of the name. The covers have an antique shine with some scratches and fine speckled surface rust that has been cleaned. The feed dog cover measures 1-7/16" diameter and both bobbin covers measure 3-3/8" x 1-3/16" on the bottom edge. It comes with the mounting screw. Antique National Eldredge Chain Stitch Sewing Machine Head
This Antique National Eldredge Chain Stitch Sewing Machine Head has been gently restored. What does gently restored mean? The overall objective is to preserve as much as the old tool or item with its lifetime patina as possible without the use of power tools. Metal is typically initially cleaned using mineral oil. Or a weak solution of washing soda and water and if necessary brief electrolysis to remove and or convert rust to black oxide. Whichever method is best, a scotch brite plastic cleaning pad is used with water so the underlying metal is not damaged. A heat gun is immediately used to blow dry and eliminate moisture which is followed by a hand rubbed coat of mineral oil. After letting the oil“soak in” for a day or so, the item is wiped cleaned then hand rub in bees wax to seal it. A weak solution of oil soap and water is used to remove ... moregrime, old oils and dirt from wood which is air or blowed dry with a heat gun. This is followed by a hand rub of“feed and wax" Normally all other materials are simply wiped clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth as appropriate. If the situation requires it, a soft brass bristle brush or“0000” steel wool is used occasionally. A couple of items should be noted. The first is this gentle process may not remove all rust or dirt, etc, as there is always a balance of limiting restoration to not affect patina. The second is that tools and items are not conditioned for use such as sharpening, tightening or replacement of parts. This is left up to the judgement of the new owner as there is a large range of utilization of older tools. Lastly, the item may have residual oil left in the cleaning process. This can be wiped off but the item may benefit from an additional application of clear oil to further enhance and stabilize the item for extended life. Bottom line: The fact that the decals are in such great condition for it's age. With some gently cleaning and some rust removal, this machine will be quite beautiful! Antique NATIONAL/ B. ELDREDGE Automatic Chain Stitch Sewing Machine- cir. 1890: Up for auction is beautiful Antique National Sewing Machine Company/ B. Eldredge Automatic Chain Stitch Sewing Machine. Nation merged with Eldredge in 1890 and this model displays both of the company's names- NATIONAL SEWING MACHINE COMPANY on the plate and B. ELDREDGE AUTOMATIC on the brass plate mounted on the base of the machine. I re-discovered this smaller sized cast iron sewing machine recently while out on one of my picking adventures here in New Hampshire and when I first saw the items I thought that it was a Willcox& Gibbs because of the almost identical size and design of the two early chain stitch models. This National/ Eldredge sewing machine is in its original(unrestored) condition. When I discovered this sewing machine. It was rather dusty ... morebut in otherwise very good condition. I've thoroughly dusted this machine using some light compressed air and I have wiped down the item using a clean, soft cloth to brighten up the metalwork but I have not taken apart the machine so there may be some additional detailing cleaning needed. It is obvious that this was a treasured item and one that has been gently used in times past. I have not found any physical damage to the sewing machine(cracks. Breaks or repairs) and the cast iron frame is in excellent condition. The only parts of the machine that have any pitting to it are the top of the tension knob and on the front and backside of the spool pin and these areas of'pitting' are extremely light but they are noticeable upon inspection so I wanted to make note of these spots. The needle bar and foot bar also have some light discoloration due to age but these bars are not rusted, pitted or corroded. When I manually turn the small wheel, the components of the machine operate cleanly, smoothly and as they should. The original black paint has retained a nice glossy shine to it and there are only very small areas of loss to the paint. The guilt decorative trim is clearly

Up for sale is this very nice child's toy sewing machine. The'Little Hustler' This machine is constructed of cast iron and is beautifully decorated. This old sewing machine dates back to around 1920 and is in great original condition as the pictures show. I turned the hand crank and the needle moved up and down and the teeth under the roller foot moved so it seems to be in good mechanical shape. This little machine measures only 9x4x6 inches high. Hard To Find Damascus toy sewing machine made by the National Sewing Machine Co of Belvidere. Illinois. This 1930's era toy is in excellent condition with very good paint and decals. It is attached to its original lift up wooden storage base. clamp is included plus seam guide, needle and looper. The nickel parts are bright and only need a slight cleaning but I'll leave that up to you. I have been informed that this machine was made by NATIONAL. It is NOT a SINGER! Sorry for the misinformation! This antique Dome Rotary Sewing Machine has a serial number of A52282. Which I believe dates it to 1911 or after, but I have not been able to find out exactly when it was manufactured. It was given to a friend of mine who had been using it for a nightstand. It is fairly unique in that the cabinet has some interesting storage inside. The most notable being a shelf with cut-outs specifically designed to hold two pair of scissors(see photo#8) It also comes with a tin box full of accessories(see photos#9& 10) Photos#1-3 are of the sewing machine itself. Which is quite beautiful. Photo#4 is the front of the wooden cabinet in which the machine is housed. Photo#5 is the top of the cabinet, which has a water stain unfortunately. Antique National 2 spool sewing machine with foot pedal and attachments #H9150
This is an antique National 2 spool sewing machine. The model number is H-9051. The electric motor is a Hamilton Beach patented 1917 and the foot pedal is about as old. Truly a beautiful machine. The original attachment tin is full. You can tell this machine was used because the paint is worn off the deck on the side where the person would have been using their hands to manipulate the fabric when they were sewing. Both the machine and the motor work very well. The motor purrs beautifully and the function of the machine flows fluidly. The cool little light mounted to the machine works like a charm. My husband and I purchased this NATIONAL sewing machine at an Amish auction. It was complete when we bought it. But the wood was falling apart and all we could salvage was the cast iron pedal/stand, the wooden drawers and the machine pictured here. We sold the wooden drawers already. My husband makes furniture and turned the pedal/stand into a small table. So all we have left is the machine pictured. We actually displayed it in our home for a few years because it makes a great decorative piece-especially in the autumn because of the gold leaf detail. We are always changing the items in our home and decided to move this piece on for someone else to love! Antique electric National sewing machine nice decals, with case
An antique National sewing machine fitted with a Safety brand motor. A foot pedal and a nice little light. The decals are in very good condition. I don’t see a model identification but there is a serial number on a little plate: 161182. I know little to nothing about sewing machines. This one looks quite good and when I plugged it in it responded well to the foot pedal and the lamp switched on and off properly. There was an old motor smell when I ran it for a while, I’m not sure if that’s just age or signals a problem. No accessories with this one. Complete as pictured. Guaranteed Two-Spool Manual- Manual and pages strong and in tact. However. It has been folded both lengthwise and width wise in the past. I'm not a sewing machine collector so I'm unsure if this is complete or in working condition so this is sold as-is and as you see pictured. I can manually hand crank and the needle does go up and down nice and smooth. I think there could be a back plate on the reverse side that is missing- I'm not sure(see pictures) I sprayed a little window cleaning on a clean cloth to wipe it down gently for the pictures. Vintage Antique National Sewing Machine Co. ELDREDGE AUTOMATIC Small Machine
Original antique National Sewing Machine Company" Eldredge Automatic" sewing machine marked 45808 in good condition. The shipping charge is for Mountain& Pacific time zones and those in ET CT zones will get a 5.oo dollar refund after the item ships. The machine seems to work fine when the wheel is turned but likely needs some restoration to be a fully operating machine again. I do not know if this is complete so please use the zoom function to inspect. There are some nicks in the finish with most being around the edge of the base. The machine has some old oil stain and a thin haze on much of the painted parts. It does look like it will come off with a proper cleaning. There are rust spots on the plate and on some of the other unpainted metal. Please write with any questions.
