Sweet Little Singer This is a wonderful old miniature Singer cast iron sewing machine. A diminutive"Model 20" from the late 1920s to 1930s. These were made and marketed as a child's first sewing machine and were also useful for travel. This model, with oval pedestal and wood knob, is in very nice condition. Though could use a cleaning and oiling. The mechanism turns smoothly and the needle and parts appear to move as designed. I have not tested it with thread and fabric. There are some light scuffs and dings- nothing major- and just a bit of surface rust that a cleaning would take care of. The spool pin was missing so I purchased a replacement and I will also include new spool felts and needle. The fabric guide is missing but it's not a necessity and replacements are available. Maybe it was intended to be a child's toy but with a little practice a person could sew well with it. The original green felt is still on the bottom although it could stand replacement. Vintage Singer Toy/Childs Model Sewing Machine-Model 20 - Dates 1914-1925
Singer Model 20 Child's Sewing Machine 1914-1925 What a great estate find. I had fun doing the research on this one. This machine was first introduced in 1910 as a childs sewing machine. It was built and functions as a true machine. It is cast iron and metal and is meant to be clamped to a table to keep it steady while hand cranking. This version dates between 1914 and 1925. After 1925. They had stamped numbers on the thread path. I have a print out for the thread path( will include) These machines were intended for use by children to learn to sew. They stitch a chain stitch. there is no bobbin. There is a hook mechanism that catches the thread as the fabric moves forward. There is a stitch length adjustment as well. I cleaned this up a little. I know that more of the crud can be removed with solvents on the metal parts. I sewed a few ... moresamples with it and it really does a good job. Because it is a chain stitch. It can be easily removed. The clamp in the picture is not original.it is from my toolbox. I will include it because this tiny machine need to be anchored to the table in order to clamp it. There is plenty of info on line regarding threading and using this great little machine. I hope that the pictures tell all you need to know.let me know if you need more. Authentic antique Singer toy sewing machine no. 20 for children 1926 model
Up for auction is an authentic Singer sewing machine no. 20. It is a working mini sewing machine from the early to mid 1900s designed to teach young girls to sew. The original box and instructions are included. It was given to me by my grandmother. So I don't know much about it. As far as I can tell, it is the 1926 model because it has numbers stamped on it showing where the thread goes(although I don't think the machine itself is that old) I do know that it is not the Turkish remake from the 1970s. It is in 100% working order and includes the table clamp. The machine is in good shape for its age, but does show rust in a few places. The box and instructions are both in pretty rough shape, to say the least(see pictures) The instructions do have, as far as I can tell, all their original pages. Antique Singer Model 20-2 Child's Miniature Toy Chain Stitch Sewing Machine. Ca.1914. This is the model with the added tension discs and 7-spoke handwheel but without the numbered thread path. The machine works smoothly. There is some enamel loss where the machine would get clamped. The rest of the enamel is nearly flawless. The decals are very crisp and legible. The nickel plating has been well retained with only minor loss; mostly needs a polish. Lovely green felt pad under the base. Excellent condition.

1910/1914 Child's Singer Model 20 Miniature Toy Sewing Collection
Rare boxed Singer 1910 and early 1914 Model 20 Sewing Machines and Collection of ephemera. Both machines are seized from sitting the better part of a century. But are otherwise in excellent condition in original boxes with original clamps and hard to find original needle packs. Both boxes have a split where the top and one side have separated from each other, but are otherwise completely intact and in pretty good shape for being over 100 years old. The 1910 has the original flat screwdriver, thread and instructions, and there is also an additional small screwdriver that came with it. The 1914 has a reproduction screwdriver and the instructions are from a later version(original Singer, not reproduction) The 1914 machine is the very rare early version that retained the base clamp boss of the 1910 model. These were almost certainly produced ... moreonly in 1914… the later version having the double ribbed clamp boss more commonly seen. The 1914 box clearly pictures the un-ribbed clamp boss as well. F.W. MULLER MADE IN GERMANY MODEL 20 TSM TOY SEWING MACHINE FREE SHIPPING
First. I need to say that I'm not an expert on toy sewing machines. I've been given these to sell on consignment but the lady(from whose collection these came) has moved several times, the latest into a Care Facility, and most records became lost. I've done my best to research, date and describe these machines but if anyone viewing this or any other TSM sale I have has any information I heartily encourage you to please step forward and share it. Although this TSM has no name or model# written on it. From my researches(and some kindly input from a TSM expert) I believe this TSM to be a F.W. Muller Model 20 made in Germany. It is cast iron, fairly heavy, and in pretty good shape. The colors and gold fret work are good and the chrome plate is decent. The number on the stitch plate is a serial number. Muller stamped SNs on their stitch ... moreplates, no significance that anyone is aware of except for production count purposes. The wheel turns well and the sewing action is good although there is no longer a needle. This particular toy sewing machine is quite likely from the 1920s and was very well taken of, considering its age. This TSM would probably be considered a display piece at this point and no longer a toy. Please study the enclosed photos, do any research you need to do and although questions are encouraged we would prefer they be asked prior to bidding. Singer Child's Toy Miniature Sewing Machine 1910 in Antique Oil Box Model 20
Rare Type#1 4-Spoke Child's Miniature Model 20 Sewing Machine of 1910 to 1913. The machine is complete and original except for the cloth guide. Screw and flat screw driver which are reproduction. There are chips and scuffs to the paint, the logos are worn away in places, and much of the nickel plate is rusty in varying degrees. The machine turns freely and everything operates as it should, but I have never tried to sew with it(although I have read that these machines are hard to use because they don't have the thread tensioner of the later models) The table clamp is the correct one for this machine and is original Singer. The antique box is an original item that once held"1 Doz. 3 Oz. 3 piece lot of antique sewing machine parts in good condition. The frame on the left was tagged for Singer 20-2 electric but has no markings on it and the frame on right marked singer is as seen. The third item is of unknown origin. The frame on left has some scratches and scuffs. The singer on right has some nicks in the finish and lost paint.
