Location: Ballston Lake, United States This is an Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Head. Model 66-4 with Red Eye decals. This is the rare side clamping foot. It uses common Singer low ... moreshank attachments. All other Red Eye's had rear clamping feet before the 66-4 was released in 1923. There is no exact date when this change occured. But I have had 66-4's from March or April 1923. The 66 remained a side clamping foot from this point on, but the Red Eye decals were stopped shortly after. Serial number G0281156 dates this machine to August 27. 1923. In December, 2012, I sold G0285208, small world! This machine has been properly cleaned and oiled. The timing was checked and it sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I even took the bobbin case a part and cleaned it so it has smooth thread draw. It sewed 6 layers of denim with ease. The stitch is equal on both sides. Here is HD video of this actual machine working. PLEASE NOTE: The wood stand supporting the machine and the handcrank seen in the video are NOT INCLUDED and are NOT FOR SALE. They are for demonstration purposes only! There is NO handcrank in this auction! It comes with 2 bobbins. The bobbin winder has a new rubber wheel and has been tested and works. Overall. This machine has a semi-shiny appearance. There is some wear, scratches and nicks. The deck has scratches and blemishes in the finish. There are also some chips and wear along the front edge. The decals have good color with some scratches and flaked wear. The green in the decals on the main body have flaked away on the backside. The bobbin winder decals are worn. All chrome pieces have a very nice appearance. Some parts on the bobbin winder are darker than others. The nose and round plates are in good condition, but the nose plate is a little dark deep in the grooves. The bobbin and throat plates have some fine scratches. There is no manual. Antique NEW HOME Treadle Sewing Machine Head & Accesories Serial #4044240 1922
This Antique NEW HOME Treadle Sewing Machine has been gently restored. All the working parts move very easily and smoothly. The major external parts were disassembled to clean. None of the internal parts where removed but was reachable was cleaned. From experience and examining the external apperance this machine should be in fine working condition. The accesories were wiped cleaned then treated with mineral oil. What does gently restored mean? The overall objective is to preserve as much as the old tool or item with its lifetime patina as possible without the use of power tools. Metal is typically initially cleaned using mineral oil. Or a weak solution of washing soda and water and if necessary brief electrolysis to remove and or convert rust to black oxide. Whichever method is best, a scotch brite plastic cleaning pad is used with water ... moreso the underlying metal is not damaged. A heat gun is immediately used to blow dry and eliminate moisture which is followed by a hand rubbed coat of mineral oil. After letting the oil“soak in” for a day or so, the item is wiped cleaned then hand rub in bees wax to seal it. A weak solution of oil soap and water is used to remove grime, old oils and dirt from wood which is air or blowed dry with a heat gun. This is followed by a hand rub of“feed and wax" If the situation requires it, a soft brass bristle brush or“0000” steel wool is used occasionally. A couple of items should be noted. The first is this gentle process may not remove all rust or dirt, etc, as there is always a balance of limiting restoration to not affect patina. The second is that tools and items are not conditioned for use such as sharpening, tightening or replacement of parts. This is left up to the judgement of the new owner as there is a large range of utilization of older tools. Lastly, the item may have residual oil left in the cleaning process. This can be wiped off but the item may benefit from an additional application of clear oil to further enhance and stabilize the item for extended life. This is

I'm not sure which model it is( to see if you can tell) The other plate says LIGHT RUNNING. NEW HOME, TRADE MARK The drawers have stuff in them. Including the original key, spools, some tools, measures, and the attachment case in its original paper sleeve(fantastic condition) The side drawers open if the center drawer is unlocked and pulled out fully, but they are a bit stiff. The top left drawer is missing the top twig that serves as the pull. The case is oak. I think referred to as tiger oak or quarter sawn. Quite beautiful. The case is quite beautiful despite some flaws as follows. There are a few spots that look like paint splatter on top. Part of the E in New Home on the front panel is missing. There is a small ding to the back side. The finish has some general wear and some bumps and bruises here and there. The underside of the lid has a white mark on it. Here is a beautiful antique"New Home" treadle sewing machine. This has been in my mother's house since the house was built in the 1920's. It's 100% original. Nothing has been restored, it's still dusty. But, as you can see in the photos, it is in excellent condition with a great light-colored wood and iron base/legs. I believe it works properly, and I don't think it's damaged or broken in any way, but I took a lot of photos- please see for yourself! The sewing machine was used, there is general wear, and expected wear for an 80 to 100 year old item. This is an Antique New Home Treadle Sewing Machine Head. Serial number 3911904. The machine most likely dates to the 1890's. It has floral decals. The manual covers machine maintenance and shows how to use some of the attachments. The attachments are in good condition except the underbraider cover is missing the guide. They have an 1891 patent date on the hemmer feet. The metal case has scratches and wear. This machine needs to be treadle cabinet mounted. Up for auction is a 1913 NEW HOME LIGHT RUNNING Treadle Sewing Machine that is still functional or ready for display. The S.M. Company of Orange. MA manufactured this beauty and the serial number 3372117. With plenty of patina for a machine over 100 years old I tried to capture all of the essence of the machine and took great care not to remove any dust or patina than necessary to handle and photograph the object. The original paint is intact but you will not there are condition issues ranging from the rust on the wheel as well as other areas on the machine. Additionally there is some loss to the painted flowers that decorate much of the body of the machine. Antique Treadle Sewing machine New Home brand? 1896 ?
ANTIQUE TREADLE SEWING MACHINE From what I have been able to find out with my limited knowledge of these machine. This could be a NEW HOME manufactured unit for a retailer to sell under their name. I have been able to find zero information about the company who's name is on the boom. If it is a NEW HOME, the serial number has is manufactured in 1896 according to ISMACS Internationals New Home data base. As you can see the unit has hand wear from being lifted up and down in the cabinet. Also the top has damage as shown in pictures. Treadle works freely as does the machine when turned by hand. There are 2 bends present for the unit. But I did not want to damage one by trying to put it on having never seen it done. One belt is in original package priced at.27 cents. 4 needles and a box full of parts and tools which I have to assume go with ... morethis machine. Also present is a manual that seems to be original by it's age wear poor condition. I did not open the pages for fear of future damage. But those that are open list oiling the machine and such and what I think is the cover says"PIONEER" Ask me any thing you want to know and tell me where to look and I'll do my best to give you the best answer I can.
