Beautiful Antique Singer Sewing Machine 1915 Model # G452L727 works
This is an old antique Singer sewing machine. The last patent# on it is 1915, so I am guessing that was the year this one was produced. It is a very ornate machine. I am not a sewer, so I will do my best on describing this. This machine is gorgeous, I haven' ever seen one with this much floral design and engraved silver accents. I am guessing the light was added on at some later point as it's cord does not match. It does not have a foot pedal. I don't know if it ever had one as much as I did know about sewing I thought all machines had pedals, but like I said, I don't know much, just saw my mother and grandmother sew. I did plug it in, it runs, the wheel will turn, the needle doesn't move and there is cloth hanging out of the wheel that spins that I can only guess is a belt that needs replaced. This auction features a 19l5 Singer Sewing Machine. See condition description above. As I stated above. I received this in the 70's and have only used it for decor. When we received this it seemed like everything was working when a family member tried it out. Since then belt has broken. I do not know if anything is missing on this. The piece is on wheels and moves around. The serial number is G4266942. Which means it was introduced 1915. The cabinet is in an oak veneer in parts and other pieces are solid. There is an area on the top front of the piece and an area on the closing door top- both show wear- see pics. The machine has a brightly colored pattern and the serial number is displayed on this part of this piece. There is a nice dress guard on the right side just above the treadle. see pics. Singer Sewing Machine 1915 "G4330389" Model 115 Electric Motor Conversion
This is a Singer sewing machine from 1915 that used to be a treadle-driven unit that has been converted to electric drive. What you see is what you get. It is the machine only with the motor included. The cord on the motor probably plugs into a speed controller and if I was feeling suicidal I might put some power to the thing to see if it turns. The cord is very frayed though so screw that. The big wheel on the right side turns through its entire range of motion and all the things go up and down as they should. Spinny things spin as well. This would be a good parts unit or would be good for decoration or something. If you knew what you were doing and wanted to get it going again I suppose that's possible. Your call. Red spool pin felt, winder tire& a new hand crank(i added some washers, some wire& a spacer to improve the tightness and functioning)touched-up black paint chips on the entire machine, touched-up decals where needed by hand(major wear areas were the front left sewing area, to the right of the spool ... morepin& most of the treadle belt guard)clear coated the upper part of the machine to protect it and give it a glassy like-new appearance.sew tested and adjusted the machine.oiled, lubricated& adjusted mechanical parts the machine until the machine operated very smoothly.disassembled and thoroughly cleaned the bobbin winder, tension unit, all parts in the sewing head area& the threads of the stitch length knob.and i thoroughly cleaned& adjusted the light. the light's cord is about 7 1/2' feet long. i cleaned the original treadle hinges, on the back side of the machine, as well. look at& study my pictures for more detail& visual information. as always. I clean-up& fix-up beat-up screw heads as i go/as i work through the machine. see my other listings& sewing machines if interested. Up for sale is this beautiful Singer parlor cabinet sewing machine. Model 66. I purchased it intending to make into something else. After finding it's contents and in such good condition, I was planning on restoring the cabinet. I simply don't have the time, so it is going to the best offer. A friend with considerable experience inspected the contents and the sewing machine is complete as when originally sold with extras. There is a Lenox button hole maker attachment in the original box and parts list. The original boxes of needles are very fragile. As is the box for the original attachments. The paper boxes are full with silver pins and various needles of the period. There are some bobbins and a couple thimbles in the some of the small black velvet lined boxes, There are various tools, needles and other things that are not pictured. ... moreI have extensive experience with wood restoration and know that the cabinet would be stunning when redone. There really are no serious surface defects that standout. The white sections on the fold out section are bare wood and will blend easily. The finish itself will also require little effort. It is actually very compact and can fit in the rear of a van or SUV, I brought it home in the back of a jeep with no problem.
