Singer Model 12K New Family Sewing Machine Circa 1871
Product Description: Fiddleback Singer Model 12"New Family" treadle sewing machine"born" in 1871. We spoke with the Singer representative and she said a machine this old didn't have a model name or number-that it was just called a"Standard" However, in the literature I have seen since, I notice model 12 New Family machines that are nearly identical to this one. The representative did confirm the 1871 date. The decals are still remarkably intact for a machine that is 142 years old. They represent the"Acanthus Leaves" pattern. The machine has a coffin top. Two-drawer cabinet and a set of attachments, including two original bobbins, bobbin winder"spoon, tucker, binder, seam guide, quilting bar(not pictured) and a wooden case of needles. It also has an extra open-boat shuttle that I have not tested. ... moreAs it has a slightly different shape from the one that was in the machine. Two extra bobbin winders came with the machine, and will be included. A reprint of the Model 12 manual is also included. Size: At 16" deep x32" wide x40" high. Including top, the machine cabinet is rather diminutive, which I liked because it fits in small spaces. Markings: The Singer logo is present on both sides of the cast iron treadle base. The medallion on the machine's forward side says"Singer Mfg Co N Y Trademark. The front and back of the machine head say"Singer" and the top says"Singer Manufacturing Company" The Serial number is 868385. The number above the serial number just below the stitch length selector is 7753385. Origin/ Background: I bought this machine at a flea market 26 years ago. It has been with me ever since. Condition: Machine has been cleaned and oiled. And is in working condition. Pictures of the stitches are included. This would make a great steampunk lamp or restore for a early piece of sewing history. Pictures are a little light.Sorry. Item will be about 18 or 19 lbs packaged shipping weight. 10" wide by 9" tall not including motor. Didnt try motor because there was no chord. Rotates properly. Quite rare and unusual Singer Model 12 s/n 862252 dates it at 1871. Complete except for belt and draw. Maple top and cover in very good condition. Water stain on one wing. Top folds down to work table. Head has bobbin holder, takes old long bobbins. Graphics on machine head is good. Maple finish on wood is good. This machine is heavy. Will ship in 2-3 boxes but you can save shipping by picking it up. We are 90 miles from Indy, 50 from Louisville KY. 75 from Lexington KY and 60 from Cincinnati Ohio. Up for auction is a museum quality Singer treadle sewing machine. All parts are original except the iron extension support bracket The drawers are in beautiful shape. The machine has some of the nicest original graphics I've seen. I am a retired sign painter turned sewing machine repairman. The gold you see is hand painted. You are looking at months of restoration. It has a new belt and it treadles nicely. The Mother of Pearl is plentiful and nice. It will stitch only 50% of the stitches. Still working on that. Here is an antique Florence sewing machine from 1871. Last Patent Date on metal plate is 1863 with original Patent of NOV.12. 1850, serial number 116129. I am selling AS FOUND so please check out all pics. I do not know if all parts are present, everything pictured is included. Side wheel rotates and arm moves up and down. There are hand painted flower decorations throughout the machine. Machine measures approx. 17 1/2" long x 7 1/2" wide x 7 1/4" high. Based on information found on line,I believe this is a Box Base Low Bed Rotary Hook Machine- Model 1W1.This gorgeous,and highly collectible machine features details such as Hand-Painted Gold Floral Designs over a black enameled base and silver plated arms(pictured)The 6 1/4" x 4 3/8" material plate has the following stamped into the metal: WHEELER WILSON M'F'G. Co. BRIDGEPORT, CONN. A.B. WILSON'S PATENTS NOV 12th,1850,AUG.12th,1851,JUNE 15th,1852, DEC.19th,1854, then is has the Serial No. 762285(pictured) which indicates it was made either late 1871 or sometime in 1872. The cast iron treadle base is pretty cool as it has 2 foot shaped pedals- instead of the traditional ... moregrate- and a flywheel with a pivoting cog which prevents it from going backwards. The cog has an embossed Patent Date of Aug. 29,71(pictured) The Brass coin shaped emblem is embossed with the Wheeler& Wilson Trademark as well as their 625 Broadway,New York address(pictured) The wood cabinet shows its age with scratches and blemishes in the finish. It opens from front to back and I believe it had 2 drawers and a cover for the sewing box back when it was manufactured, but at some point in the last 140 or so years, they disappeared.I do not have the original mounting screws for the machine and the small thumb screw is missing from the material plate. Inside on the table top under where the machine mounts,it has the number 350 stamped into the wood- maybe representing the 350th machine of this type with the silver plating( not sure about that. Beautiful 1871 Wheeler & Wilson No. 4 Treadle Sewing Machine w/ Attachments Box
Absolutely Beautiful Wheeler& Wilson Half Case No. 4 Treadle Sewing Machine. This treadle machine was made in 1871& is in fantastic condition for its age. The gold decals and gold& black painted legs are in great condition also. One drawer inside is not original but everything else is. The machine only needs a belt to be completely ready to sew. Included is the hand crafted wood attachments box with Wheeler& Wilson Logo carved in the top. The over all measurments are 36" tall x 26" wide x 20.5" deep. The treadle is solid& very heavy. This is the reason for local pick up only. I will only consider shipping if buyer arranges for shipping company to pick it up& safely pack. Please ask any questions. Antique Wilcox Willcox Gibbs Sewing Machine 1871 w/ Needle
Up for bid is an antique Willcox Gibbs sewing machine head. The last patent date is 1871.This machine head is under Royal Letters Patent.All parts are working and move freely. Its serial# is A254738. The machine comes with a needle. The sewing machine has a nice badge that reads Willcox& Gibbs deposee Sewing Machine Co. New York. The plate is marked with different patent dates and the one reads Willcox& Carleton. On the bottom right side of plate is more patent info. The top part is in a different language however It looks to be France& Belgium.On the top right side it has a chart showing thread.Silk, needle& stitch. It also shows a stitch to an inch. It measures 10 1/4" L. It measures 8 1/2" H at its highest point. ANTIQUE 1871 WHEELER& WILSON MFG CO SEWING MACHINE WITH GOLD DECORATED PAINT This eBay listing is for an antique Wheeler& Wilson Mg Co sewing machine with some of its original gold decorated paint as you see pictured. I'm not a sewing machine collector so I'm unsure if this is complete or in working condition so this is sold as-is and as you see pictured. I can manually move the one arm up and down and the needle does go up and down nice and smooth. I sprayed a little window cleaning on a clean cloth to wipe it down gently for the pictures. I'll leave it upto the new owner to give it a proper cleaning. The last US patent date that I see on the one plate are all from the 1950's with the last date that I can make out of 1854. VINTAGE WILCOX AND GIBBS SEWING MACHINE 1871
This sewing machine has the following dates on it.It has July4'71 and April 1864.It is in nice shape for its age. All parts are present.Some of the gold design has faded.Nice condition for its age.It works and the needle is present.It belonged to my great grandmother who used it all the time.I do not know any more about it.
