When you turn the handle the needle and the mechanisms go up and down but it does squeak a bit and could probably be oiled. 1921c IDEAL Cast Metal Toy Sewing Machine Made In the United Kingdom
This cast metal Toy Sewing machine is in good condition. And was made between 1921 and 1925. The Ideal sewing machine was sold as toy for little girls but was also used by the British Military as a small lightweight portable sewing machine, primarily for repairing uniforms in the field. The cover and machine are metal while the base is wooden. I've provided a picture of the Ideal with a singer 28 for size reference. Its a rather small machine. Vintage deep blue Casige metal toy sewing machine. This little sewing machine would look great as a display piece! The levers do still seem to work except the wheel seems to jam about half way around it could be an easy fix I just don't know enough about this piece and do not want to cause damage to it. It does have some rust as shown in the pictures but it still looks great and would be a great conversation piece. I will be cleaning our attic. So make sure you view often for some new and vintage items. Up for auction is this vintage, probably 1940's or 1950's, toy sewing machine Diana Made in Germany Schuphoff Original. The wood base is 8.5" x 4.5" and the metal machine is 6" tall x 6.5" x 3" On both side it is marked Diana with a stencil and the sewing plate is etched Schuphoff Original. I had this up in our attic, since I no longer have a toy room to display. There is some scuffing from display and storage, and some scratches and paint peeling, not too bad-you can see this in pictures. You can turn the wheel on back and the needle moves up and down. I have not tried working it. There is a piece that is loose under the chrome plate in front, not sure what this piece is for.
