Singer 29-4 Antique Sewing Machine
Fresh from an estate sale is a Singer 29-4 sewing machine. Serial# G2730614. This machine would make a great decoration or could be used for industrial sewing. We oiled the machine and wiped the dust off and everything turns freely and seems to function properly. I am including the belt as well. It is dry rotted so it may not work. Be sure to check out my other auction for the base that the machine head attatches to. The machine weighs 60 lbs so I will have to charge $50 for shipping. If it costs more than that to ship. Singer 29-4 Leather Patcher Treadle Sewing Machine, Industrial Cylinder Arm
For auction: Singer 29-4 industrial cylinder arm treadle sewing machine. This machine was designed for leather patching. Shoe repair, and harness making. Singer serial number: G4200601. This particular machine was manufactured in 1915, according to the Singer database. These machines were incredibly well made and are still highly sought after by cobblers, harness makers, leather patch sewers, etc. This machine is treadle style(with a working belt) but can also be sewn with by hand, using the wheel for slower stitches. This Machine also includes what I believe to be an original/rare, wooden hinged table for sewing items on a flat surface. The table top is in good condition for it's age and appears to have all it's parts intact. As with most machines of this age, there is the normal age-related wear and surface rust in places but it ... moreis in good working order, has been cleaned and oiled throughout, tested, and still sews a perfect stitch(see photos) Belt is old and will need to be replaced but it does still work/sew. Antique 1905 Singer 29-4 Cobbler's Leather Treadle Walking Foot Sewing Machine
This is a Rare Antique Singer 29-4 Cobbler's Leather Treadle Sewing Machine. Serial number B1122711 dates this machine to June 7. 1905. This is one of only 2,800 machines produced that year. This machine has been serviced and is 100% functional! All screws and parts turn and rotate with ease! This machine has been cleaned and properly oiled. It sews very well. Please see the picture of the stitch. I tested it on a leather riding boot. It stitched through a thick section of the boot with ease. The stitch is equal on both sides. Here is video of this actual machine working. The end of the video shows a close up of it sewing so you can see it create the stitch and the walking foot in action. The body is solid. It comes with 1 bobbin. The bobbin case was disassembled and cleaned for smooth thread draw. The bobbin winder has a new rubber wheel ... moreand works. Overall. The machine has a soiled and worn appearance. The decals have heavy wear and all exposed metal is discolored. The paint also has chips and scratches throughout the machine. The head has a 360 degree swiveling foot so you can rotate any way you need to. The throat measures 12" from the body to needle. It also has a feed wire for inserting the thread down to the needle. It will ship with a piece of thread looped through the machine so you know how thread it. You can also click on this link I made showing how to thread the machine. There is no manual. But I will send a free pdf copy of the Singer 29-4 manual to the email address linked to your PayPal account. It measures 22" x 8" and is 18" tall. The base measures 8" x 8-1/4" PLEASE NOTE: The machine needs to be mounted on an industrial sewing table or a treadle base. It has a screw hole in the bottom of each leg. It has two speed select pulleys to choose from and you will need a double flywheel with a 10” and 8-1/2”diameter wheels. For your consideration is an all original Singer 29-4 treadle base leather crafters sewing machine that looks to be in amazing condition. It has obviously been sitting for a long time as there was a lot of dust on it. I have not taken the time to clean it in any way. I was having trouble turning the wheel but after spraying a lubricant in the shaft it freed right up! I'm sure it could use some more oiling and adjusting. I am certainly not an authority on these machines. Take a look at the 12 photos and look carefully. I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. It looks to be all complete. It has had absolutely no paint work done to it at all! This machine is located in the Youngstown Ohio area and needs to be picked up because of it weight.

The serial number is B648703 which dates it to 1904. Making it one of the very firsts of this production model. The Model Number 29-4 is intended for use in manufacturing and repairing shoes. And is also useful for stitching other articles made of leather and cloth. It has one needle and one shuttle and makes the lock stitch. The machine has a cylinder bed which enables it to stitch articles of cylindrical shapes and which adapts it especially for sewing boots and shoes. Offering this early 1900's Singer Industrial Sewing Machine model 29-4. This is a heavy duty machine traditionally used by cobblers and for heavy leather work in the industrial era. The cantilever arm and needle have good smooth motion along with the wheel crank. It comes with its original stand which has mounting holes placed for this specific model machine. Please look at the pictures thoroughly(I've included more pictures at the end of this description) The only thing that appears to be missing is the cover plate on the gear access port on one side of the machine. There is no belt. Needle or thread with this. The serial number is H 329367. This is a great old cast iron sewing machine that will probably work forever. I chose not to repaint it because I'm not sure where to get good original enamel-type paint and I refuse to use ... morecheap spray paint on this machine. SINGER 29-4 This is the nicest. Most original and complete 29-4 I have ever seen. We had 4 of them; the other three are sold. My great grandpa repaired shoes in a shop on their property in our home town. This machine was not one of his that we know, but rather it belonged to a 3 generation auctioneer family and was used to repair the auction tents for many years. It works just fine and comes with all the extras pictured. Foot can rotate to sew any direction! Pictured there is an extra walking foot that was in the wooden drawer also. The original wood platform is removable and is showing wear but the rest of the machine is in near perfect shape with cracks or repairs that we can see at all. Vintage Singer 29 4 Cobblers Sewing Machine Diamond in the Rough
Fresh out of a Iowa attic and if you have a desire to own one this is just a peach. It appears complete except for the belt and 3 bolts that hold the machine onto the base. It runs nice and tight no wobbling or looseness so I'd guess another 100 years of sewing life is left in it. It needs to go to someone who can tear it down and refinish it the old original black paint is flaking off and with a new finish and new decals it would be a show stopper. It has a light that appears wasn't cobbled onto the machine and the light arm is jointed so you can put the light where needed. Please email any questions. We have a Singer Sewing Machine Model 29-4 up for auction. This industrial quality sewing machine is fresh from a local estate. This heavy duty machine was popular for it’s dependable use in sewing light leather and cobbler or shoe making and repair. This model sewing machine is still used today for harness repair. Horse saddle work and light leather work. It’s a very sturdy and versatile machine with the needle being able to rotate in a 360 degree rotation. This machine has not been hooked up to power but with normal hand rotation of the wheel we can see the needle operating properly and the bobbin under that spinning like it should. The upper lever does move needle up an down as desired with another lever moving the needle around in a 360 degree fashion. The machine moves freely and appears to operate like it should but we have not hooked ... morethis up to a power source or stitched any leather of fabric with it. It would likely need a tune up. There is some paint loss evident in places in the black paint and some wear to the gold lettering in places from normal use over the years. Both machines are working/go through the motions and look complete. I didnt try them by sewing and dont know if they will need anything else to be sew-ready. They may need a lube or adjustment etc. I dont see any cracks or repairs anywhere. Just average use/age wear. One has square holes where the belt goes through the frame, the other has round holes. The belt slightly rubs on the square hole on one side, their may be an adjustment for that. I also noticed the flat surface on one has a lip, the other doesnt. The treadle linkage is different on the two, but both are working fine. If you are close by. Please come over to inspect them before bidding. These are pick up only, no exceptions. The serial number in the picture is G2.746,419. The Machine appears to function perfectly and comes with some accessories like needles, threading tool, thread, new leather treadle belt and a photo copy of the operations manual. I am shipping the unit for a flat $50 to the continental United States. I have the cast iron base available but it is just to big and heavy to ship. This a 1902 to 1906 Singer 29-4 leather sewing machine. It includes the original stand and trundle. It also has been retro fitted in the 50's with a small electric motor. All moving parts still move freely and smooth it does not come with a belt. There is a part or two missing. One looks like that part that holds down the bobbin. Buy as is I will include the extra needles and any parts I find by the sale date.
