Singer fiddle base vintage hand crank sewing machine
Here is an 1882 vintage Singer hand crank sewing machine inan end opening mahogany case with a working lock and key. The serial number reads 5278577 which indicates it was madein 1882. It is cast iron andsurprisingly heavy. It sews a perfect stitch with an oscillating shuttle. Youcan see the photo of the stitches it made. The black finish on the machine itselfis a little dull with some wearing away of the finish on the front edge of thefiddle base. I just lubricated the machine and it spins very smoothly. It couldbe fitted into a treadle base because it has holes and a groove to accept atreadle belt. The mahogany case is in good condition with a few wear marks onthe top edges. The key is included. 1889 Singer VS2 fiddle base sewing machine. No Reserve
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE VS2’s with the fiddle base design were only produced from 1887-1891. This wonderful little machine is fully functional and looking for a new home. The“painted flowers” decals are original and not some basement-made decals like some sadly showing up on eBay. They do show wear so please check all the pictures. The serial number stamped on this is: 8671364. The chrome on this is just amazing and everything moves smoothly. I sewed a few stitches on this and am amazed on how well it sewed. Up for auction is this Antique Singer Fiddle Base Sewing Machine with Cabinet. Please read complete details as follows prior to placing a bid. I am auctioning the item off as with what is shown in the photo as is with no returns. Here is a early model Singer Fiddle Based Portable Sewing Machine with Cabinet. The sewing machine is not complete but comes with the items shown in the photo. This will be a project to restore to its original condition and will require additional parts other than what is shown. It seems to work fine the wheel spins and the needle goes up and down. The paint is a bit chipped and the print on the machine is worn off in places. The cabinet will require some restoration as well included is the original skeleton key lock device(the brass item in the parts photo) but you will have to find a key or locksmith a new key ... morefor the lock. The cabinet does have a crack on the corner on the back side and the original bottom has been temporary replaced with a piece of plywood to maintain the shape of the base bottom. This is a 1885 Fiddle Base Improved Family Singer Sewing Machine. Serial#7034607. This was an estate find. It was originally a treadle machine but at some point a motor and light was added. It only needed oiling and it was sewing like it was new. I tested the stitching power by sewing through 8 layers of a napped upholster fabric. It didn't even hesitate. The decals are worn and the finished has some chips and cracks but remember its 128 years old. You will receive 4 bobbins. A special screw driver, foot control and the case. There is wear to the gold design( which I believe is carnation? and some chipping to the black enamel paint. Vintage Antique 1879 Singer Fiddle Base Sewing Machine W/ Original Receipt?
Up for sale is a Vintage 1879"Fiddle Base" Singer Treadle Sewing Machine and what I believe is the original sales receipt. I can't be 100% sure. But the receipt looks authentic. I believe it is a model 12 machine. I bought it at an antique auction and it was advertised as the original receipt. The receipt is mostly in German, which could indicate that it started it's life in Germany. This auction is for the sewing machine and receipt only and does not come with a table or belt. The needle does go up and down when the balance wheel is turned. The machine has typical wear to the finish for a 130 year old machine(please see pic's) Please check out my pictures to give you a better idea of condition. Singer model # 12 New Family Mother of Pearl Fiddle Base Sewing Machine 1881
Description Offered is an amazing little Singer model 12 treadle sewing machine moving freely with its original attachments. Manual and needles. It also has 2 bobbin boat cases and a bobbin. This treadle head has its original needle clamp and all its plates as well as its bobbin winder. The hindges attaching it to the treadle table are in place but not attached. This does not seem to affect the operation of this machine. It has very nice mother of pearl inlay and gold decals. All the mother of pearl is present and much but not all the accent gold is still there. These decorations were made for the high end market. This machine comes with its treadle base and coffin top with inlayed logo marquetry almost entirely intact in solid shape but not quite mint. There is a small piece of the logo missing. There are no major cracks or brakes but a ... morefew stains and one tight check on the top. And a small gouge under top rim. Hardwear is in place. This treadle head has its original needle clamp and all its plates. The hindges attaching it to the treadle table are in place but not attached. It comes with 2 original bobbin boat shuttles and a bobbin spool. The bobbin winder works as it should with its replacement rubber wheel. Its serial# is on the stitch length adjuster and dates this machine to January 1881. The mechanisms move freely and are in good working condition showing no visible rust. I will be includung 2 wood pitman arms as shown. Both will work the machine but one has a screw split at one end and what looks like a reglue. the other is fully intact. Overall this fiddle base treadle machine is in amazing condition. And will make a nice addition to anyone’s collection. This simple little early singer is considered one of Singers best machines. Antique 1889 Fiddle Base Singer Sewing Machine VS 2 Parts Repair 9027061
This is an antique fiddle base Singer sewing machine. Recently purchased at an estate sale. I was told it dates to the 1889. The serial number is 9027061 I know nothing about it and my best guess is that it does not work. I found it in a corner of the basement. It most probably is missing parts and it looks like a few pieces may not be original to the machine. It is beautifully painted with a floral pattern and it is incredibly heavy. It measures 17" long from end to end and about 11 1/2" tall. Perfect for parts or repair, it will make a charming addition to any collection. PLEASE NOTE.I ONLY SHIP ONCE A WEEK. bIdding on this wood table top that comes from a new family singer fiddle base model 12 sewing machine dating before 1870 serial number 478046. The top is in fairly good shape and comes with the fiddle base pan includes the brass inserts that is used to hold the lid in place if you could find one. As you can see the wood comes in three parts which is normal if you look at the base there are holes to secure all 3 parts. Very Nice 1885 "Fiddle Base" Hand Crank Singer Sewing Machine From England
This auction is for a nice& older model Hand Crank Singer Sewing Machine on what is called a"fiddle base" with it's"domed top" carring case from England. It woeks smoothly and all moving parts move freely. It has a serail number of 6728716 which dates it made in 1885. The case is in overall good contion with an old repair made to one of the ends. See pictures below The decals are very good for it's age and it still has it's bobbin& scuttle. I would say the Decals are 90% intact if not a little higher. You can still see the"reds& greens" decals which is quite rare on these old machines. These make wonderful item for display in your home or sewing room plus it will still work if you care to give it a try. The only defect I could find is one end of the carrying case has an old repair made ... moreto it where the wood split. See pictures below. It has a Walnut Patina to it, It has some blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) nicks, dings& scratches to the case as well to the base of the machine from normal use over the years, but for it's age and travels it's in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. this listing is for a: Restored 1889 Singer VS-2 Fiddle Base Treadle Sewing Machine Sews Very Well. this treadle sewing machine head has been: thoroughly Cleaned& polished(where where i was able to) all parts. Shafts, springs, metal except the inner most parts of the upper shaft and some part sections extending from it; Restored to a fully functioning& very well sewing state; Serviced/Oiled/Adjusted and perhaps improved in some ways. this machine is complete except for it's treadle belt guard& screw that held it on. a new red spool pin felt was added to this machine. i disassembled and cleaned the entire bobbin winder, the tension unit, all parts in the sewing head, the shuttle(that area as well) the shuttle carrier and so on throughout the machine. cleaned up the bobbin and wound it on this machine(using a restored Singer ... morefiddle base treadle unit that i have which will be listed with a another restored 1887 VS-2 machine soon) sew tested& adjusted the thread tensions. repainted all the black painted parts(including the underside of the machine, the bobbin winder& the hand wheel) and repainted the Singer logo and some of the flowers and such in a cheery way. after doing this i applied gloss polyurethane over all the areas in repainted. look at my pictures of this machine for more detail. overall this is a very nice& well sewing machine. it still has marks that show it's true age. My painting isn't perfect.but, it's good.and it doesn't have a belt guard, but that does make putting the belt on or taking it off easier fwiw. as always, i clean-up& fix-up beat-up screw heads& rough part edges as i go/as i work through the machine i'm working on.
