For your Bidding consideration in this Auction is this Antique Singer sewing machine. It is a Model 27 with the Sphinx Graphics. It is in working condition and came off of an Oak Cabinet with cast iron Treadle machine base. The Oak veneer and some of the wooden aspects of the cabinet were in worn condition but previous. This Machine is very clean and all parts appear to move and function as intended. The metal rod that holds the thread was misplace when previous owner was readying it for sale. There is some paint/ decal wear but overall the colors and design are still strong. the bobbin is present as is the needle. I am including the original hinges hardware and screws which attach the Machine to the cabinet. The hinges are attached to the machine in the photos. Up for auction is a 1930 model 127 Singer"SPHINX" sewing machine head. We received this with some items we are disposing of for an estate sale. The serial number is AC975170. I checked with the ICMACS(International Sewing Machine Collectors Society) and learned the model number and date of origin. I am not that well versed in these old foot pump sewing machines. This one is NOT frozen. It does rotate but is tight. I feel the machine should work with some oil. Cleaning and servicing. Sold"as is" The graphics are good to be 80+ years old. Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Model 127 Sphinx YR 1921 Champion Motor
Item description: Up for sell is an Antique Singer Treadle Sewing Machine Model# 127 with Sphinx print. The serial number is G9057134 and the model was produced in 1921. Also includes a Champion motor model# 24 and a Universal sewing machine foot control pedal with light and motor block. Condition: The sewing machine is in fair condition and seems to work as it should. I do not know much about these old sewing machines however. The wheel on the back. The needle, and bobbin all move smoothly. One of the slide plates comes on and off easily the other is stuck on the machine. The decals are faded to various degrees over the machine, please see pictures. There is some rust on the base of the machine. I plugged in the motor/light and they both worked, though I tried to test light later and it no longer worked. I assume the light just burnt out ... morebut I cannot confirm why it no longer lights. The belt is to lose and needs replaced. I wiped the machine down lightly, but did not attempt to clean it thoroughly as I did not want to damage the decals. Have 500$ wrapped up into to bring it to glory. 1. Selection(only quality. Sound, cosmetically good machines go through this process) 2. Disassembly 3. Thorough cleaning both in& out includes high speed cleaning of most metal and bearing surfaces 4. Check mechanical tolerances to manufacturer's specification 5. Check condition of gears and replace as necessary 6. Grease gears and lubricate per factory specifications 7. Check and replace drive and timing belts as necessary 8. Disassemble. High speed clean, and index upper tension assembly for optimal tension control 9. Inspect oscillating/rotary hook. Feed dog assembly and drive, disassemble& clean bobbin case, presser foot ... moreassembly, needle bar assembly, zigzag drive system, cam stack and drive(if so equipped) main drive shaft, and clutch. Adjust as necessary 10. Reassemble machine and all sub systems. Including bobbin winding system and sewing lamp etc. 11. Set initial upper and lower tension. Needle height, time needle and hook, and feed dogs 12. Test sew and fine tune all systems 13. Old clear coat sanded off and a new clear coat sprayed on in a professional booth. No one would believe me if I told you how many hours I spent scrubbing rust and dust off of this thing. You can always put new decals on it. I just like it old fashioned as it was found. So I would be lying if I said this looks perfect. It was just what I call previously"LOVED" I don't like the tern used, It will last forever. If you take care of it. Vintage Singer Sphinx Egyptian Revival Sewing Machine Model 27 Looks Great! Vintage Singer model 27 Sphinx sewing machine in great condition. Serial# on this machine is G9581940. Which dates its manufacture to 1911. There is a bit of wear to the gold decal on the front center edge and on the wing of the sphinx just below where the thread would be placed. In both cases, it is from use. However, the remainder of the design is in great condition and very strong. The bobbin to this machine is not present, but one can easily be obtained. This machine has not be electrified and would operate with a treadle. When moving the wheel, the needle does go up and down, but it could use a bit of lubrication. this listing is for a: Beautiful Restored& Repaired Electric Motor powered 1923 Singer Model 127 Sphinx(sometimes called an Egyptian or Memphis) Sewing Machine that sews very well. it is using a.9 amp Delco motor. i repaired& fixed-up this beautiful 1923 electric(or hand crank compatible) sewing machine. repeating from above first) basically: i replaced the bobbin winder thread guide spring. Repaired a broken part of the"U" shaped area on the vertical connecting shaft(see my picture of it.it was repaired by using loctite cold weld bonding compound and krazy glue maximum bond.the part is working well now) replaced all the electrical wires/the motor and light wires were replaced just outside each part(cleaned the motor brushes and commutator, cleaned the foot controller contracts, soldered new wires to terminals inside the ... moremotor/light socket plug unit) added a new spool pin and felt pad, all parts in the sewing head were removed and cleaned/oiled, the winder unit was completely taken apart and cleaned/oiled.i thoroughly cleaned the machine(and parts) polished chrome, oiled, adjusted, sew tested& touched up the paint on some worn, scratched and/or chipped paint areas.i also repainted some areas of the motor, light cover, foot controller, winder unit and such. overall this machine is in excellent condition for it's age, with generally only minor wear and scratches to it's decals. the serial# is G0557512. also pictured are my sew test for this machine(using the entire stitch range from no movement to ~ 3/16" and a packet of 5 screws(this machine had a wooden base, but was not shipped to me.so, there's a screw for the motor/light unit and 4 screws for the hinges on the back of the machine) look at my pictures for more detail& visual information. update: 4-19-2014: the spool pin is now in it's proper hole(i've worked on enough of these type of machines to know now) i reversed the motor pulley and adjusted the belt tension again. my pictures show the previous positions.

1901 Singer Sewing Machine Model 27 Sphinx: cabinet+access incl/no treadle
This is a Singer Sphinx Model 27. Serial number L 969294. According to the Singer website, it was manufactured in 1901. The machine was retrofitted so that the treadle has been removed and had an electric motor/pedal attached. Unfortunately. The motor gave out, but I got a lot of great sewing done on it before the electric components failed. The machine itself is still in great shape. If you wanted to use it, you would just need to install a new motor. I have a bag of what I believe are the original accessories. The cabinet is solid wood and has wear on its finish. The detailing on the machine also shows wear. That said. I got a lot of great use out of it, and it is a very pretty machine- especially the sphinxes! Local pickup in Brooklyn.

Antique Singer Model 127 1922 Sphinx Memphis Pristine Working W/ Case Motorized
This Singer model 127(127-4) is in great condition. Manufactured in 1922 in New Jersey. It features the popular Sphinx or Memphis decals, all in perfect shape. This portable model includes a very attractive case. The motor is by Universal Motors and functions perfectly. The lamp works well. The serial number is G9587277. The dimensions are 14.5" x 7" The foot pedal appears to need repair. I understand that this is typically an easy repair and that this part may be easily replaced. There are a few imperfections in the wooden case(see photos) I will allow local pickup for anyone near Pittsburgh. The craftsmanship on this sewing machine is outstanding. Model 27-4 for a Treadle Sewing Machine. The Serial number is B1522520 which dates it to 12-01-1905. And it was made at the Elizabeth, NJ, factory. It uses the shuttle type Bobbin. And has one in it. The Sphinx decals are in good condition for its age. They only show wear and slight stencil loss on the back side from where the lid rested on it in the down stored position. As you can see in the photos. The plated metal parts have tarnish, not rust, and they should buff out to look new if new owner so chooses. The foot raises and lowers and the shuttle moves back and forth freely. It feeds fabric through okay. I did not thread it and try to sew a stitch with it ... morebut it should sew okay after a good cleaning and oiling. However. I cannot guarantee that it will sew well. this listing is for a: Restored 1911 Singer Sphinx Model 127 Treadle Sewing Machine That Sews Very Well(see my sew test) operates very smoothly(an electric motor or hand crank can be mounted on this machine) the entire machine has been restored to a close to original looking& working order machine. there are 2 patent dates on the slide plate on the sewing side: Dec 6- 1910& Aug. 1- 1911.also the slide plate says PATENTED CANADA. see the condition description above for some of details of this machine. here's more info: this machine sews very well now(see my sew test) all parts were removed and cleaned(except: the upper shaft. It's end parts, the arm around the upper shaft that moves the shuttle eventually and the inside parts of the stitch length knob.i cleaned what i could reach on these) i polished the parts i could polish. ... moreall parts of the sewing head, the bobbin winder, the tension unit and the shuttle/shuttle carrier(and all the parts in that area) were disassembled, cleaned, polished, oiled were needed and reassembled. ends of cast steel parts that have some movement to them were smoothed-up with a file. the bobbin in the shuttle(that comes with this machine) was wound on the winder and used in the sew test. the set screws for adding hinges to the back side of this machine are in place and cleaned-up. so overall. This is a very nice looking, very smoothly operating and very well sewing machine. this machine has an all metal drive-line that in a sense makes it a semi-industrial machine when compared to modern home sewing machines with plastic gears. Singer designed and made this machine for home/family use. this machine can sew leather. Denim, canvas and other such similar fabrics.it would also make an excellent addition to any sewing machine collection. it uses modern one side flat needles. look at& study my pictures for more detail& visual information. as always. Singer Sewing Machine Sphinx Model 27K, SN: B626252 Vintage 1904
Very Collectable The Singer Company launched its first Vibrating Shuttle(VS-1 long bobbin) machine in 1885. These were available as hand cranked or treadle powered machines. However. Due to their sheer weight, most were sold as treadle versions mounted in tables or cabinets. The early treadles used just one foot making a heel-toe rocking motion, but all later treadles, including those offered with Singer 27K machines, used both feet making a left-heel-right-toe(or vice versa) motion. One complete down motion produced 4 stitches. Treadle tables/cabinets were quite large making them very much a piece of furniture. And not something to be packed away after use. The Singer VS1 was not much more than a development machine which was quickly replaced by the upgraded VS2 which had a‘fiddle’ shaped base. This in turn was gradually phased out in 1891 ... moreand re-branded as the 27K with a rectangular base. By 1912 the original design was‘modernised’ to incorporate a new shuttle ejector mechanism and at the same time the bobbin winder was relocated to a higher mounting point. So that its rubber wheel would rub on the drive belt and not the drive rim. The Singer VS3(later re-branded 28 and then 128) was introduced in 1886 as a 3/4 size version of the VS2. Paralling its big brother. The VS3 underwent several minor modifications, during its lifetime before finally becoming the 128K. The smaller VS3, 28, 128’s were mainly manufactured as portable hand crank machines, but they were harder to use at high speed. Each time the crank handle turned it produced three rotations of the balance wheel making three stitches, but it did cause arm ache over time!

Hello! You are bidding on a beautiful 1929 Singer Model 15-30 electric sewing machine with bentwood case. Includes machine and case as well as power cord- no pedal though. According to previous owner. It runs and works but they had to use a pedal from a different machine to test it. However, since I was unable to test it myself, I am selling it as is Overall. It is in very good cosmetic shape. Most of the gold paint is intact except for a couple of small spots. The chrome is also in very good condition. See pics for a more accurate description of the cosmetic condition. Also, there is no key so the latches work but do not secure it the top of the case to the base. hello for your consideration is this antique singer model 27 sphinx sewing machine.that some one has converted to an electric machine with a universal 1 amp motor.they did some changes like added a light used a different hand wheel and relocated the bobbin winder using a mount off another machine.it will sew very well when they bolted the motor to the side of the machine theres not much adjustment for the belt and its a little loose.you could take the motor off and use a dremel to make more of an adjustment if this doesnt sell i will part the machine out any questions please feel fee to ask thanks.
