Antique shaving stand/ wash stand table. Looks like a table with a velvet insert on top. Open the latch under the edge and lift the hinged lid to expose a mirror, trimmed in a matching red velvet, and storage space. Not sure if the wood is maple. Oak or a combination of both. Tiger striped tri-fold wood legs. For your information only ~ legs are removable by removing a screw and turning the metal plates to the side. This will be shipped intact so no assembly necessary. Rare antique Jenny Lind maple wash stand. Very good to excellent condition. Wooden drawer slides well. All joints are tight. Beveled edge around stand top. Dimensions: from floor to top of towel bar is 33.5 inches; from floor to top of stand is 28 inches; width from towel bar to towel bar is 25.25 inches and across top of stand is 20.5 inches; depth is 15 inches. This is a lovely and unusual antique piece. Pick up only. A bit of history about the Jenny Lind style of furniture. Jenny Lind(officially named Johanna Marie Lind) was a famous Swedish singer born in 1820. She came to America in 1850 for what turned into a very popular concert tour. The spindled furniture that bears her name is the result of her reportedly having slept in a bed with turned spindles and posts which she greatly admired.

Early 1790- 1810 Sheraton Solid Mahogany Wash Stand This Piece has Beautiful Simple Form& 2) Candle Shelves on the backsplash 1- Lower Draw& 3 Cutouts. One for a washbasin& 2 for toiletries This piece comes with it’s Original Top Shelf Cover Virtually Never Seen. The top shelf cover was put back on once the servants took away the basin n’ bits. In finer homes with servants. The basins and“other bits” were removed and most likely stored in the kitchen for ease in filling with hot water again. This allowed the piece to be multi-functional. This piece was probably used in a guest bedroom which saved the removable top from damage/destruction. I believe this is the original finish because I see no stain drips. The color is a soft warm mahogany and wonderful to look at. The draw is not nailed but dovetail/glue joined. The draw moves ... moreeasily and the piece is STRUCTURALLY VERY SOUND. I used it as a night stand in a guest bedroom with a lamp on it. As can be seen in images there is a crack in the wood running along the small cutouts. This does not weaken the piece. Antique Carved Wood,Wooden Wash Bowl Stand-Serpent,Tree of Life-Oriental,Asian?
This is an antique carved wooden table or stand in very nice condition. I'm not sure if the wrought iron legs are original or not. But this is the way we found it. It has a spider crack split in the center part, looks like a split from age. There are 4 different carved tree like designs on the 4 corners, and the entire outside edge is a snake or serpent with scales and the point sticking out on the sides are supposed to be the heads. The raised round center part looks like it may have been for a wash bowl or perhaps it held a Chinese art pottery vase or vessel. I don't know the exact age but it does look like it could be an Asian piece. It is approx. 16 1/4in. by 16 1/2in. and standsust under 32in. tall.
