Antique Victorian Mahogany Washstand Hall Table Stand

Circa date, 1890, Condition, Good, Wood, Mahogany, Dimensions, Width- 42" Depth- 20.5" Height- 31" Price includes free shipping! Made in England, Victorian era, Circa 1890, Mahogany, Hidden drawer, Carved leg, Dovetailed drawer, Some normal wear to top, Age splits and old repairs to apron, A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand. But today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table ... moresome pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don't over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. The top is a beautiful patinated mahogany. It is in good condition. You can see the slight ring to the right side. The top does show signs of wear consistent with age in the form of tiny dings all over the surface some of which can be seen here. The wonderfully carved leg is supportive and good looking. The hidden drawer pulls out to reveal some storage space. The drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Both sides have similar slight age separations and repairs on the apron. I't as good as it gets in antique furniture. There's no damage, no repairs. It's in wonderful original condition with a great patina. The marble is in great shape as well. Thereare 2 very minor super ficial nics on the edge. They can barely be fet to the touch. There shown in the pics and hardly visible. I don't sell suprises. So while they're minor issues, I mention them. I'll estimate this piece around the turn of the 20th century in age. The stand is 30" high. It's 12 1/2" at the widest bend in the legs. This is a very nice circa 1890 gas lamp table my grandmother inherited from her aunt in Baltimore Maryland.This is gas lamp table but it would work great as a Electric lamp table because of the hole in the center of the Pottery/ Porcelain top. It measures about 30 inches tall and the top is 13 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inch tall. It has a lovely floral bouquet I believe is hand painted in center of shelf at bottom(wonderfully Alligatored) The top is Porcelain/ Pottery with Gold trim and a lovely pink. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique(19th Century) pedestal plant stand or table base. This is an extremely well made and wonderfully crafted piece made of either oak or walnut. Though not marked, the stand feature 4 brass talon/claw and wood ball feet which were used extensively by the Merklen Brothers Furniture Company. The feet hold the raised base which is a graduated, turned wood design. The turned wood column features a large, carved pineapple or pine cone center detail. The thick top is quite nice and features quarter sawn wood. The stand retains the original flat screws and hardware. The stand has been EXTREMELY well preserved and though there are a few very minor surface scratches. The finish is still remarkable. The stand is heavy and is very sturdy. THis is an Estate Sale find that was sold to me as a Victorian walnut piece. It looks to have it's original finish. There are some scratches and a water stain on the top. It seems sturdy with no broken or loose pieces. It would look awesome with a nice fern on top or whatever else you can imagine. It is app. 31" tall x(15 1/2" long and 11 1/2" wide on the top piece. My friend who deals in Antiques called and told me that it could also be a side table or a Parlor table because of the size of the top. Up for auction is a great antique folk art oak plant stand with hand carved turtle base. This is cool!A bit hard to age.I'd guess from 1880's-1920's. It is approx. 26" tall. 9" x 9" across the top and 9" x 10" at the base. The post is lathe turned with carved details. The top is attached w/ an old flat head screw. There is a slight crack and a couple rings. The finish is original and alligatored with age. There are a couple fissures in the post but this is quite sturdy.not for sitting on but it definitally could hold a plant or whatnot. French Empire Gilt Bronze Antique Jardiniere Stand Pedestal Table, Dirk van Erp
FINE EMPIRE ORMOLU MOUNTED FRUITWOOD JARDINIERE c. 1815 With Later Copper Vessel by Dirk van Erp c. 1913-15 Item# 409VSP19X An incredibly striking stand from the first Empire. This fine object boasts magnificent golden veneers match booked and employed to create bursts of flame throughout all surfaces. The entire surface remains in very fine condition with only minor veneer losses(see condition notes) the rim lined in an attractive repeating-teardrop motif gilt bronze border, the lip projecting slightly over the carcass. This is constructed with a series of laminated blocks built up from the inside beneath the veneers with four added blocks to elevate the later Dirk van Erp hand hammered and dovetailed copper vessel. These rest over three klismo legs, each with curled returns mounted with finely detailed rosettes and a long curving acanthus ... moremount flowing down the knee over robust lion paws. The stand rests over a tri-form base, expertly veneered to almost simulate the furl of a candle flame around a circular gilt bronze rim and raised central plateau. The base is constructed with three-over-two interlocking knuckles at the centermost joint. Retaining a fine faded cognac surface with it's original mounts throughout. This is an absolutely stunning display of craftsmanship and clarity of design from the Empire period. Airy and modern in it's distinct Neoclassical form, this is a piece you will cherish in your home for a lifetime. Measurements: 20 5/8" diameter x 34" H Condition Report: Age cracks and minor losses to veneers throughout. Mostly isolated to edges of base and edges of rim, along with some veneer patching here and there throughout. Mounts are original and untouched. Up for sale is this rare very heavy. Antique late 1800s"Dragon" Chinese carved rosewood marble top round table. This table measures 19 inches tall and 13 inches across at the widest point. The top level that includes the marble is 10 3/8" inches across. The table is completely hand carved and tool marks are clearly visible. I date this table to be from late 1800s. it has a few damages. Missing one small piece approx. size 2" x 3" another side needs a piece on the left side and there might be one or two small pieces missing. It is very heavy weighing 19 lbs. XLNT Antique Brass & Onyx B&H Bradley & Hubbard Two Tier Plant Fern Stand Table
This is a fantastic original antique Bradley& Hubbard two tier brass plant stand with onyx top in excellent condition throughout. All brass is excellent with nothing broken or missing. All pieces screw tightly together, and both tiers are numbered 1577 underneath and the top is signed B&H under the onyx piece. All brass pieces are incredibly ornate. The onyx is also excellent with no cracks or noticeable chips, but one of the corners has a tiny flake missing, and the bottom edge where is rests on the stand has a few tiny flakes. The bottom of the onyx has pencil markings that are difficult to read, but I can make out"Mrs. Henry Schmidt, Manitowoc, WIS" and it looks like it has a signature on the bottom. This came from an old Victorian home on Lake Michigan in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The stand measures about 16" square ... morex 31" H. Antique French Carved 19th Cent Angel Wing Satyr Mask Stand Torchiere 57" Table
Up for consideration is a fine Antique 19th Century Torchiere or lamp stand. It stands about 58" inches tall by 22 inches deep by about 16 inches wide. The top measures about 14 inches square. The piece has a hand carved Angel holding a Family Shield Crest with 3 castles Water with a crown above the Crest. The back side of the stand is plain and it's overall design is more or less that of an easel. The piece is heavy well made. Finely carved piece with great form. Above the crown is the mask of a Satyr. The carving is well done extra fine and life like details. The piece dates from about the 1870's or so. There is an age split. Gorgeous Victorian Renaissance Revival Plant Stand/Table
Offered for auction is another piece from my personal collection. A gorgeous Victorian Renaissance Revival stand. Original finish. Has incised carving which retains some of the original gilding. Numerous button finials top the ends and sides of the legs. The top appears to have been a replacement, but it is not a recent replacement. This piece likely originally had a picture frame marble top, but I acquired it as you see it now. The current wood top has fabulous grain and pattern. No cracks or separations to the pieces. Some minor scuffs and a couple of the finials have chipped tips, but nothing that detracts. A very stable and very heavy stand. Just a great piece in really good original finish. Antique Victorian 2 tier Oak Wood Plant Lamp Display Stand Table with beautiful Turned legs and ball feet. Top has discoloration. Varnish loss, scuffs and scratches to the base. This unit will need to be glued if desired. We removed the glue from the top where the four legs connect so we could easily ship this item safely and at a reasonable price. I recommend gorilla glue, follow the direction carefully and don't add to much as it does expand. Antique 19thC. Diminutive Salesman Sample Sheraton Dropleaf Table 2 Drawer Stand

View our other listings for other fine pieces from this collection. Fresh from an estate collection of antique salesman's samples is this diminutive Sheraton-style dropleaf stand! As you can see in the photos. This diminutive dropleaf night stand(or dropleaf side table) maintains the fine craftsmanship details of a full-size example- and moreso! The beautiful rope legs gently taper, giving the piece both lightness and elegance. The face of the stand has two drawers with all of their veneer intact along with the original hardware. Each dropleaf folds smoothly from vertical to horizontal. We're not certain if it's American, English, or Continental, ... morebut what is clear is that the craftsman who made this did so with the utmost care as a demonstration of his skill(which includes the dovetail joints) The stand measures just 22 3/16" in height, 13 3/8" in width(with the leaves dropped) and 12" in depth. That's about 1/2 scale compared to a normal sized stand. The top of the stand or table measures 26-1/8" x 12" with both leaves raised. Top top and both leaves are all original single boards. We don't have the expertise to accurately date this stand, but we can confidently say that it is at least a hundred years old. It is in very good antique condition, with typical light wear and oxidation in the wood from a century of display and use. One of the leaf brackets is missing, but fortunately the other provides a template to replace it. If you're a collector of Sheraton-style furniture or looking for the new centerpiece of your collection of salesman samples, then you'll love this rare and desirable mini masterpiece!
