for auction is a wonderful hall tree or bench. more apt to be called a hall bench due to its size. this is a masculine piece or more fitting for a man's taste i would say. it is very heavy. Well constructed, thick, and strong. it has wonderful quartersaw oak used in its building. the hall bench is 48 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 18 inches from the floor to the top of the seat, and 78 inches tall. it is a true antique, built circa 1890-1910. it has a lift lid with three hinges and has a lot of storage space. as i said it is very well built and has no wiggles or wobbles. i think you could drag it behind a truck and it would stay together. as far as i know it is all original, has great patina with a nutmeg color to it from age and wonderful and abundant quartersawn flake in the boards. the front feet have a spider like appearance to them, ... moresomething not seen often. it has lots of molding and trim all over it as well as a nice shell crest with neat carvings on either side of it. the mirror is probably original but has been resilvered. hall trees this size are hard to come by and are usually pretty pricy. i am starting this one for what i paid years ago. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. i can help arrange shipment should that be of benefit to anyone. good luck. i can supply more pictures should anyone desire to see something in more detail.

for sale is a very large quartersawn oak hall tree or hall bench with a mirror big enough to be called a pier mirror. it has very nice quartersawn flake throughout the entire piece. mirror is original and is beveled and shows a tiny big of silver loss and some smokiness. it has nice carvings at various places that can be seen. it has neat arms and arm supports that are very thick. Rare and unusual fern or plant stand, or it could be a stand for a jardiniere. at any rate, it is a neat piece to say the least. it is hexagon in shape and the sides( 6 or them) are all bombayed and serpentine. it is quartersawn oak to perfection. no damages to note, mint condition, all original except it has been refinished, another painted piece, mercy. i have included a picture of a piece that is very much like this one. the book it is in has a copyright of 1998, so it is 15 years old. it list the piece between 650 and 700. i paid 350 years ago and had to refinish it. at any rate, i am starting it at what i have in it cash outlay. it may be picked up at my home or shipped usps or fedex or ups for less than 50.00 i would think. shipping is buyer's expense, should you do the buy it now, i will pay the shipping. good luck. sorry ... morei forgot the dimensions, it is 16.5 inches across the top diagonally, each of the 6 sides is about 8.5 inches wide. it stands about 18.5 inches tall

for sale a remarkable antique quartersawn oak plant. Jaridiiniere,or fern stand pedestal. it is a wonderful piece with the finest quartersawn oak you will find, huge flake. it is a delightful size, being 21 inches tall, 14 inches across the top, 12 inches across the base or 13.5 inches across the base measuring from toe to toe. the diameter of the largest part of the pedestal portion is a bit over 6 inches, it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i expect it can go usps fro around 30 or 40 dollars. good luck.

for sale is a very nice and unusual hanging hall or wall mirror. it is quartersawn oak with inlaid designs of leaves and buds etc. very nicely done. it has what appears to be the original beveled mirror that is in very good condition. it has 4 original hat or coat hooks that are in great shape. the side wooden supports have carvings at the top and bottom. it appears as if it is original finish. it has a wire installed to hang it with. the mirror frame is 40 inches wide and 32.5 inches tall. the mirror itself is 23.5 by 19.5. Probably removed it would be 20 by 24 inches. i am starting it at what i paid like 15 years ago. i expect it can be shipped via post office for about 80.00. the hooks would need to be removed and shipped in a separate box. the shipping cost is the buyers expense. good luck
