31" ANTIQUE UDELL CAST IRON HOOKS OAK PULLMAN CAR RAILROAD TRAIN COAT HAT RACK
Here is a hard-to-find old wall rack for hats and coats. These were used on trains and train stations. In offices and banks and other commercial places. Today. We want them for our homes. This one measures 31" long and the hooks come out almost 7" from the wall. The hooks are in great shape with no cracks or breaks. The back board is oak and is original. It is stamped"Udell's hat& Coat Rack Udell's W W Works Indianapolis" on the back. The back board has been painted black. Has a crack and several mounting holes drilled into it. The hat rack dowel is pine and has a small split in each end where they put the mounting screw in. Not a perfect piece but will work perfectly and at a great price.

Here we have a lovely antique railroad coat hook- hat rack.Tthe wood is old and cracked but when mounted with the existing screws is still sturdy on the wall. The wood measures 30" x 3 5/8" It has five nicely decorated iron double hooks connected with steel rods and thin wire caging. So of the thin wire caging is bent. The top hook sticks out about 2 1/8" from the base and the bottom hook sticks out about 1 1/4" from the base. The top rack part sticks up about 6" from the base. The rack appears to have been painted black long ago and the wood has several holes drilled in it(not original) The rack has rust and stains and wear( seems age appropriate- No damage at all to the hooks-PLEASE SEE ALL 12 ENLARGEABLE PHOTOS. I have up for sale a wonderful vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s approx 37" Cast Iron Hook with Walnut Back Board Wall Mount Coat Hat Rack. This type of rack was used in the Pullman/ Sleeping train cars. Most of the time that you see these. They are all beat up- this particular one is in really nice shape for its age. This is cleanest one that I have seen in quite a few years. The walnut backboard is in great shape. Nice clean original finish- the only issue is that approx 5/8" was cut off on the right end- maybe so it could fit a certain spot. The iron hooks are excellent. The wood section is approx 37" long. The metal rack 35" or so. It weighs approx 4 lbs as it sits. I will package with care and send fully insured. THIS WONDERFUL ANTIQUE LATE 1800'S CAST IRON WALL COAT. LUGGAGE AND HAT RACK. THIS WAS USED IN RAILROADS, NOT SURE WHICH ONE. THERE ARE 3 CAST IRON COAT HOOKS, THERE ARE 8 METAL RODS THAT RUN THROUGH FROM END TO END, WHERE YOU WOULD PUT YOUR BELONGINGS. AND YOU WOULD HANG YOUR COATS USING HANGERS ON THE OUTER ROD. THIS SUPER NICE PIECE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION IT IS A GREAT ITEM AND WOULD LOOK GREAT IN ANY HOME. GREAT IN A BATHROOM, KITCHEN, PORCH, LAUNDRY ROOM, BEDROOM OR MUD ROOM. Antique Pullman Car Railroad Train Cast Iron Coat Hooks w/Hat Rack 6 Hook Set Here we have a lovely original circa late 1800's early 1900's Antique Pullman Sleeper Car Railroad Coat Hook set with Hat Rack. It has Six Nicely Decorated Iron Double Hooks Connected with Steel Rods for the hat rack. The rack appears to have its original gilt paint from long ago but it’s not all intact and very chippy. There may have been a woven wire mesh for the hat rack area. The wood that it is mounted on may or may not be original but is old and has some old iron stained holes in it. The condition of this rack seems age appropriate- No damage at all to the hooks. Total length is 36" Measurement from the wall out at the hat rack is 7" T he overall height of the set is 6" The top hook protrudes about 2 1/4"from the wall and the bottom ... morehook sticks out about 1 1/4" Please view all photos.
