This has its original removable metal liner with handles(pic#5 and pic#6) Detailed carving with scrolls and leaves. Original caning is in excellent shape on the top. Condition is good for age. This originally was gold water gilded. It has been painted gold a couple times over the years, but you can still see traces of the water gilding in places. For a piece that is this large and ornate the carving is in good shape. I did see 2 small areas on the top of one side that might have been repaired in the past(pic#11) ... moreI also notice 2 places where original pieces were re-attached. There are a few age cracks. The beautiful patina of this really enriches it's presence. There is also a pearl like stencil decor around the periphery of the shelves. The top shelf has a railing so it could be used as a stand for porcelain or other knick nacks. It stands 35.5" high, 22" wide, and 12.5" deep. Here is a beautiful ebony mahogany Empire revival pedestal plant stand. Sadly its missing the claw feet it once had and the trim underneath the top table piece. It has some chips to the bamboo styled neck of the stand. But overall this piece still commands attention.The table top is in very nice condition, a little corner wear, thats all. antique highly carved federal winged griffin north wind plant stand black forest
for auction is a very rare most likely one of a kind antique probably federal fern or plant stand. it also resembles black forrest. hopefully the pictures are good enough to ascertain how well. Detailed, and how much carving this piece has. it features three winged griffins or dragons attached to a central shaft that supports the actual platform for a fern or plant. the feet of the griffins supports the shaft. the shaft does not touch the floor. at any rate it is carved to death. the front of the breast of the dragons has what appears to be the face of the north wind blowing. you can see the eyes and the cheeks puffed up for blowing. under the platform, which is more of a bowl, for the fern is a carved collar with several leaves displayed. the top of the plant stand has incised carving in it. the platform is attached to the shaft with a dowel. ... morethe griffin body and legs etc are attached to the shaft with two large dowels for each griffin. i am not for sure what kind of wood it it, but it appears to be walnut on the parts light enough in color to try to tell. it stands 40 inches tall, the platform is 10 inches in diameter. the feet at the widest stretch are 18 inches. the griffin bodies at the widest point if a bit over 14 inches. as far as i can tell all the pieces are still in tact, some have been broken off and re stuck. i am amazed that it is still apparently all there. there was a piece broken from the bottom of the shaft when i got it. i really do not know what it looked like so i put a finial there which i think looks ok. if you don't like it, it can be removed with little effort. i paid a tidy sum for it some time ago and would like to get my money back. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck.

ANTIQUE VINTAGE CANE UMBRELLA PLANT STAND OCTAGONAL MAHOGANY VICTORIAN BEDPOST
24" tall. 11" diameter cane or umbrella stand. Octagonal column is constructed of solid mahogany boards, molding around the bottom is also mahogany, four feet are veneered. I think that this stand was made from the bottom section of a mid-Victorian bed post from a tester bed. If you are familiar with beds made by cabinetmakers like Mallard or Lee, the octagonal form was very popular. For whatever reason(fashion, low ceilings) a bed was taken apart and the lowest section of a bedpost was repurposed as a hall stand with the addition of four scroll feet- that look like they came from a Victorian footstool and two handles on the side that look like sections of molding. The reconfiguration was not done recently- the nails holding the feet in show some surface rust and the screws attaching the bottom panel are not new either. The reimagining ... moreof the bedpost was probably done in the mid 20th century or before. It makes an interesting history and I think it makes a very handsome and impressive looking stand for your canes or umbrellas. It would make a great stand for a fern or other houseplant too. The finish on the wood is old. The mahogany has a lovely dark red color. There is finish wear and some scratches and marks, the veneer is quite worn on the feet. There is a split on one of the eight panels that would be an easy fix with wood glue and some strap clamps. Antique 19th Century Victorian Era Walnut Stone Bird Topped Plant Stand UNIQUE!
VERY UNUSUAL antique victorian era plant stand. The stone top was probably hand painted and glazed somehow. I'm not an expert on what the materials etc are for this piece. I bought this many years ago from an estate sale and have loved it through the years. I remember the person I bought it from in Indianapolis said it had been in the family for years. It is in good shape as the pics show with various wear around the legs. The stone top has some crazing and there is one thin crack that goes from the edge to approx. 1/3 in towards the center- see last pic. It measures 31" tall. This is an Antique Vintage Pedestal Ceramic Tree Plant Stand 8 1/4" Tall. It was gifted to my grandma in early 1920s from her elder pastor in Immanuel Church near Canova. South Dakota. It was owned by a pastor for long time. It should be from 1800s. I was told about it. It measures 8 1/4" tall and 7 1/2" diameter. It is in good condition with age with minor wear out on rim. I am not sure about a crack in middle of pedestal. It may be happened in the past or not. Or it was just that way due to artist? I cant find a name or marker on this. ANTIQUE WICKER PLANT STAND WITH CURVED SIDES EXCELENT CONDITION ATTIC FIND
Attic find. Antique Wicker Plant Stand. 27 1/2" high in center, 26" high on front ends. 29 1/4" high at handles. 29 1/2" wide at center of basket. 26" wide at legs. 12" deep.Has original insert. I could not find one broken piee of wicker on it. The pictures make it look like there is a design in thewicker but it is only dents. No design. It is attached to a bent wood frame with a braid trim. The frame, stretchers and supports and legs are spireled wook. I washed it with a damp cloth to get the dust off but I did not scrub it. It has 100 plus years of aged dust on it. Antique Chinese 19th Century Marble Top Teak/Rosewood Plant Stand Highly Ornate
For your consideration is this gorgeously crafted and highly ornate. 19th century Chinese plant stand. It is either constructed of rosewood or teak. The shelf is fit with an octagon shaped marble top. The approximate measurements are 36" tall, 17" wide at the widest point, and 13-1/2" wide across the top. As for condition: This beautiful piece is in overall good condition for its age with normal age wear although the following are areas with other damage: Unfortunately. There is one foot missing. This does not interfere with its stability, but presents a visual weakness. There is also on the top decorated edge of the table top where the balls circle the complete edge around it. There are two small wood shaped balls the have a small chip on them, there is another ball that half is broken off. See photos. There is a hairline ... morecrack on one edge of the marble top(see image 9) On the inside bottom. Someone has re-glued around the legs most likely to make the stand sturdier. There is piece missing on one side in the center bottom of the ornate skirt that connected one side of a flower to the side of another flower. See photo. I approximate this missing piece at about one-half inch. Having presented the condition. One would have to still say this highly ornate piece is still spectacular and stunning. There is a plant stand very similar to this one that recently sold on eBay for close to $2,000 and some sellers are currently asking for more. However, to make a fair and proper adjustment for the condition issues this lovely piece has, we have opted to open the bidding at a much lower price to leave room for the owner to have the problem areas repaired if desired. Personally, I would put that leg with the missing toward a wall or corner so it was hidden from view.
