The overall size is 36 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 29 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 17 inches deep, 18 inches high to the seat, 28 inches high to the arms and the overall height is 84 inches. for auction is a wonderful hall tree or bench. more apt to be called a hall bench due to its size. this is a masculine piece or more fitting for a man's taste i would say. it is very heavy. Well constructed, thick, and strong. it has wonderful quartersaw oak used in its building. the hall bench is 48 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 18 inches from the floor to the top of the seat, and 78 inches tall. it is a true antique, built circa 1890-1910. it has a lift lid with three hinges and has a lot of storage space. as i said it is very well built and has no wiggles or wobbles. i think you could drag it behind a truck and it would stay together. as far as i know it is all original, has great patina with a nutmeg color to it from age and wonderful and abundant quartersawn flake in the boards. the front feet have a spider like appearance to them, ... moresomething not seen often. it has lots of molding and trim all over it as well as a nice shell crest with neat carvings on either side of it. the mirror is probably original but has been resilvered. hall trees this size are hard to come by and are usually pretty pricy. i am starting this one for what i paid years ago. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. i can help arrange shipment should that be of benefit to anyone. good luck. i can supply more pictures should anyone desire to see something in more detail.

for sale is a very large quartersawn oak hall tree or hall bench with a mirror big enough to be called a pier mirror. it has very nice quartersawn flake throughout the entire piece. mirror is original and is beveled and shows a tiny big of silver loss and some smokiness. it has nice carvings at various places that can be seen. it has neat arms and arm supports that are very thick. Shaped, and has molding cuts. it has a large storage area under the seat. it is a very large hall tree, 88 inches tall, 16.5 inches deep, and 42 inches wide. all the carving is tight and intact, no missing pieces as far as i can tell. it is very solid and sturdy. it has not loose parts or pieces. it has a very nice contoured crest with a cut out in the center. the arm and arm supports are pegged into the hall tree. i hope the pictures are good enough to add to the ... moredescription. hall trees this size are not too plentiful and don't come up for sale often. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. if shipped i would recommend an antique mover due to the large mirror and large size. good luck.

Antique Oak Entry Hall Tree With Storage Bench & Beveled Mirror ( Nice & Solid )
For your consideration is this Very Nice Antique Oak Entry Hall Tree. I have been told it dates back to the late 1800s. But i am not sure, could be the early 1900s?There are no markings on it that i can see. The Hall Tree is in excellent condition, is very solid, and has a nice aged Patina look. It is about 82-3/4" tall, 24 to 26" wide(at different levels) and 15" deep. The Beveled Mirror is about 17 1/4" wide and 35" high and in very good condition for its age. There are 6 Coat, Cap Hooks, the two on top are Butterfly Hooks( unusual& rare) see picture 5, I have never seen these before or after we got this one) I don't know if they were on the Hall Tree from day one or if someone added them later, they are old and they compliment the attractive decorative carvings on top, plus they do match the cutout pattern ... moreabove the seat perfectly.see picture 3) The Bench Seat has storage space under the lid.
