Charming early quilt stand or rack. Wood is oak that has been turned to create classic spindle shapes. Forged iron legs original to the piece. Stand most likely dates from the 1800's. Overall. The stand is in good estate condition. There is obvious wear to the wood, consistent with its age. The piece is a little wobbly and one end of the top rail can disconnect from its support if you aren't careful. The cast iron feet are well attached, but can be turned. Otherwise, there are no breaks or repairs. The piece stands 30" tall and is 23.5" long. At the top it is 7" wide and the feet are each 9" wide. Southern Ohio estate, we are able to offer this exceptionally nice, and quite early, circa 1860's- 1880's era ~ VICTORIAN CAST IRON HALL TREE, UMBRELLA& CANE STAND, SIGNED JOHN MOORE NEW YORK ~ Please be sure to check out all of the 12 pictures we took of it. This is by far the nicest and most unusual example of an original 1870's era, Victorian Cast Iron Hall Tree stand we have ever had the opportunity to offer for auction. It measures 87 inches tall to the top of the fancy pomegranate fruit basket figural finial. The lower"hat rack" arm" by the mirror" with 4 hooks, measures 41 inches across and the top arm with 4 hooks measures 26 inches across. The base measures 28 inches wide by about 12 inches deep. There are a total of 9 very fancy large cast iron hooks which are ... moreall original to the hall tree. I even believe that the mirror is possibly original as well, with only some minor discoloration to the silvering. It has the original removeable bottom tray to rest your canes and umbrellas. The tray is signed ~ JOHN MOORE N.Y.~ on the bottom as well as signed on the back of the hall tree ~ JOHN MOORE N.Y.~ The over all condition is very nice with the exception of one broken hook on the bottom tier of cane rests- see picture# 11. It is actually not all that easy to tell because it is an inside hook. There is also one hook on the center column near the figural Lion's Head which has some damage. All of the large eight cast iron hooks on the top two sections are in perfect condition with no damage! The entire body and base is in perfect condition as well, with no cracks, chips or repairs. The patina to the cast iron is all original and we left it in 100% all original, as found, untouched condition. Incredible Victorian Cast Iron And Leather Umbrella Stand In Shape Of Umbrella
This a great find from an estate we just acquired.It is an umbrella stand that has a cast iron base and shaft which has a ball representing the handle of an umbrella.The shaft is surrounded with hand sewn heavy leather crafted as 5 folds to hold umbrellas.It is 28.5" tall overall. Has a width of 14"across the top,and the cast iron base is 5" across.In researching this form I have found similar examples in decorated metal mostly recent vintage. I have not found a similar example. Rare Mid 1800's Cast Iron Dog. Umbrella/Cane Hall Tree Stand, Nice! I am selling a mid 1800's victorian cast iron umbrella/Cane hall tree stand. It has the plate that goes in bottom and that is pretty rare to find. According to the research I got on these. It says in book that these were made from 1883-1886 with this particular design, then they made a design almost identical around late 1800's that had a rabbit, then early 1900's they changed it to a duck instead of a rabbit, all 3 designs had the same large dog background. It has two canes held together by what looks to be a collar and a head of a whippet on one and a horse on the other. It has the number 12 on the dog tag. It is about 25" tall, 13 1/2" w and 8" deep. We were happy to find this little cast iron triple leg walnut top table that probably dates from the 1860s era in the local home we just ... moremoved. I couldn’t find a signature. But it looks like a Fiske. It’s three cast iron pedestals joined together in the center and the iron base is a little cockeyed in the center, because walnut is a soft hardwood, which cause the top to be repositioned over the years. The table top itself has a cutout notch molding and a few little cracks, and little imperfections, and one of the little nubs is missing. The cast iron itself has not been repaired or altered, and is really quite unique. The overall size of the table top, which is solid black walnut with a beveled edge, is 20 inches wide, 14 inches deep, and 28 inches high. The width across the cast iron legs is 15 inches. It’s a good cast iron furniture piece, and an excellent decorator item. This original rack is 29" long~~3 3/4" tall~~the oak wood is 13/16" tall and 1/2" thick~~the 5 hangers are 2 1/2" long and 2 3/16" tall. As my 3rd and 4th pictures show. You can hang this rack using either side. One side is fluted. The other side is pla in and shows the saw blade's marks. All 5 of these hooks will swivel 360 degrees. Best Gilded Library Book Bible Music Stand Cast Iron Oak Victorian Pat. 1895
Although I have only come across a few of these stands over the years. This one is BY FAR the best one I have owned. As it is presently configured. This book/music stands measures 44 inches tall and is a 16 x 16 inches at the foot. The finish is the original gilded finish. Which has a warm rich patina and is mostly complete. Of course there are areas that have worn more than others over the years, just a testament to a previously used and loved item. I believe the two quarter-sawn oak tablets at the top have been refinished at some point in the past and each presents very well. One could say striking in appearance. The legs have an ornate incised design running down each leg. And each leg does have the original metal caster at the bottom. Very easy to roll on a hard surface. In the center is a cast iron“basket” Complete and free from any ... morebreaks or repairs, retains most of the original finish and is a nice decorative element that also doubles as a storage area for addition books or sheet music. The previous owner that was the barber told me that he worked there for 55 years and they were hanging in the back of the building before he even started working there. This stand is the solid gilded brass; is not the less attractive cast iron that most are made of. The stand was manufactured by the Scroll Art Company from Bridgeport, Conn. stamped) and is circa 1895 to 1898. Quite extravagent, the stand features an ornate, Fleur de Lis pattern on the base in the Arts and Crafts genre. It has a large center tray upon which rests a very detailed, Gothic designed dragon with exposed teeth. The dragon holds the large cigar holder which is also the ashtray cup. This large cup is removable for cleaning. This stand is very heavy brass(it does NOT accept a magnet) and the brass has been gilded. It is very weighty and is extemely sturdy. Victorian Adjustable Book Or Bible Stand Cast Iron And Wood
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian cast iron and wood bookstand. All the parts are here. Many I've seen have casters or at least the legs taper into what look like a part that would go into a caster. These legs do not have that feature. The right side wooden leaf has a crack running the length of it. This was my aunt's and she always loved to display her gigantic old dictionary. She passed away a few years ago and I'm finally down to parting with it. I can't provide a maker on this or an actual date of production. I've merely compared it to some I've seen here on eBay. I bought it about 10 years ago when I lived in Belgian at a Flea Market on the border of the 2 countries. It stands 31 inches tall and at its widest area is 17 inches. It's a solid, heavy piece of a time long gone. The base plate is cracked in half right along the center edge, see photo) but it certainly does not detract in any way from the piece and is barely visible when empty. Antique Victorian Cast Iron Music Bible Book Adjustable Stand LW Noyes Aermotor
For your bidding consideration in this auction is an Antique. Cast Iron& Wood Music/ Bible/ Book Stand. This is a recent Estate Acquisition in overall fabulous condition. The stand is a beautiful Victorian style and made by L.W. Noyes Aermotor Co. Mr. Noyes founded the Aermotor Company in Chicago in 1888 so my estimate is that this piece, with beautiful arched legs. Wooden caster wheels and Heart of Pine wood(very rarely used today as this was only found in virgin timber) was made circa 1890. The Stand has adjusting areas for angle of the book table as well as allowing it to swivel 360 degrees. The table top/ work surface can rest perfectly flat or adjusted to almost a 90 degree angle. The arched Legs drop down to the wooden caster wheels which are 16" apart. The wood book table is basically 2 parts- each is kept in place by a cast ... moreiron locking handle. When the handle is released, the 2 parts, due to the heavy spring action, fold easily up and together for storage. The top section is removable from the stand for shipping. Shipping estimate is 12 pounds and the required box size is 18"x18" x 36" One of the legs has been given a metal brace to support a crack in the leg which works perfectly. Regardless, the stand is exceptional. It is"untouched" and all-original, measuring approximately 45 inches tall(at it's tallest) by 17 inches wide at the base. The oak lectern is adjustable with many angles/widths to choose from. The originality of this stand is what makes it so great: it retains its original tiny steel casters, black enamel paint, and varnish on the oak boards. I think this ornate base with its center hole was originally used as part of a hat stand though it could have also been used with a tall rod and a circular top to hang coats. Nonetheless. It dates back to the late 1800s and while it has some rust(cleanable) it is a wonderful period piece. It is 32" in diameter. Due to its weight, it is for pickup only. 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOTHIC ARTS& CRAFTS ERA TWISTED CAST IRON TRELLIS-POLE STAND WITH TWISTED IRON FINIAL. The stand would serve as a decorative element-it is circa mid-to-late 1800s in the Arts& Crafts period& design with raised relief deep inset iron scroll work. A central twisted-trellis iron rod, and a twisted iron ring finial at top which is lovely and quite large. The iron finial twists onto top threaded rod-see close-up pic provided of this area-there is a nut or iron washer-or something of that nature missing/absent as there is a space between the finial and the end of the rod where you can see threads-the finial fits on well but a washer or something similar would make up the space and cover the exposed threads-please see pics provided of this feature described. The central rod which is ... morelovely twisted cast iron like a trellis fits into and screws into the base which is original to the rod(see pics) Not bent-it is straight-tight-and intact. The base is lovely with inset and raised relief of open work of scrolls roping on edges-4 large bands-and a center folwer or fleur-de-lis shapes(see close-up pic provided) Measures approx. 26.25" tall x 7" wide(at base of stand) Slight surface rust with no deep corrosion. I am pleased to offer this VINTAGE ART DECO CAST IRON CANE STAND OR UMBRELLA STAND I found digging around a barn that had fallen down over 40 years ago. I am selling it in"as found" condition which is still pretty spectacular. It is 42" tall and features a SEMI-NUDE figure with her arms outstretched holding an arc which is obviously the handle. She appears to be standing on a globe and her top is bare with a draped garmet flowing from her waist. This part is 9 1/2" tall. There are three prevelant interconnecting 4 3/4" cast circles in which the canes or umbrellas were place and smaller spaces too. This section is 12" across. The base is also cast with 10 pointed spears in cast which secures the stand quite well and it is 10 1/2" in diameter. There is a screw under the world and under the rings which could ... moreadjust it and the base could be screwed off too. I'm am leaving it all the way that I found it. It has overall rust. But there are no breaks which is amazing. It needs a good wire brushing and oiling to bring it back to life. Portable Rolling Antique Cast Iron Music Bible Stand Breaks Down Easy Victorian
Hello and thank you for looking. This is an antique music or book stand made of cast iron. Metal and wood. It is in very nice working condition. It breaks down easily and is fully adjustable. It come on wheels or casters which also work well. There is a nut on the bottom which when unscrewed allow for the four legs to come off. I have been able to use all of the adjustments accept the one that moves the unit up and down. That finger screw is tight and I don't want to force it. I see no reason why it wouldn't work given time and patience. This stand has been well cared for and displayed for many years but it is used and there are some marks. There is also a spot under the ledge on one side of the wood that has the remnants of an old sticker or mark of some kind. I was told this was a Victorian piece but I am no expert and really do ... moreno know its age. It looks very nice in the corner of my den. Here we have a lovely antique railroad coat hook- the wood features a nice beveled edge around the bottom and sides and measures 38" x 3 5/8" There are two sturdy eye-hooks. So it is ready to hang. It has five nicely decorated iron double hooks connected with steel rods. The top hook sticks out about 2 1/8" from the base and the bottom hook sticks out about 1 1/4" from the base. The top rack part sticks up about 6" from the base. The wood was carved out to hold the hooks- The wood is in great condition- and the finish appears age appropriate. There is some withe paint on the top trim when someone painted around it at one time( not real visible when mounted) and two holes drilled in the wood(not original) No damage at all to the hooks-PLEASE SEE ALL 12 ENLARGEABLE PHOTOS! THE WOODEN TOP IS VERY OLD, BUT PROBABLY NOT THE ORIGINAL. IT WAS DECOUPAGED WITH PRETTY FLOWER GIRLS. THE PICTURED TOP SHOWS A LITTLE WEAR; BUT STILL IS PRINCESS FAIRY PRETTY.
