Antique Victorian Cast Iron Music Bible Book Adjustable Stand LW Noyes Aermotor
For your bidding consideration in this auction is an Antique. Cast Iron& Wood Music/ Bible/ Book Stand. This is a recent Estate Acquisition in overall fabulous condition. The stand is a beautiful Victorian style and made by L.W. Noyes Aermotor Co. Mr. Noyes founded the Aermotor Company in Chicago in 1888 so my estimate is that this piece, with beautiful arched legs. Wooden caster wheels and Heart of Pine wood(very rarely used today as this was only found in virgin timber) was made circa 1890. The Stand has adjusting areas for angle of the book table as well as allowing it to swivel 360 degrees. The table top/ work surface can rest perfectly flat or adjusted to almost a 90 degree angle. The arched Legs drop down to the wooden caster wheels which are 16" apart. The wood book table is basically 2 parts- each is kept in place by a cast ... moreiron locking handle. When the handle is released, the 2 parts, due to the heavy spring action, fold easily up and together for storage. The top section is removable from the stand for shipping. Shipping estimate is 12 pounds and the required box size is 18"x18" x 36" One of the legs has been given a metal brace to support a crack in the leg which works perfectly. 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOTHIC ARTS& CRAFTS ERA TWISTED CAST IRON TRELLIS-POLE STAND WITH TWISTED IRON FINIAL. The stand would serve as a decorative element-it is circa mid-to-late 1800s in the Arts& Crafts period& design with raised relief deep inset iron scroll work. A central twisted-trellis iron rod, and a twisted iron ring finial at top which is lovely and quite large. The iron finial twists onto top threaded rod-see close-up pic provided of this area-there is a nut or iron washer-or something of that nature missing/absent as there is a space between the finial and the end of the rod where you can see threads-the finial fits on well but a washer or something similar would make up the space and cover the exposed threads-please see pics provided of this feature described. The central rod which is ... morelovely twisted cast iron like a trellis fits into and screws into the base which is original to the rod(see pics) Not bent-it is straight-tight-and intact. Portable Rolling Antique Cast Iron Music Bible Stand Breaks Down Easy Victorian
Hello and thank you for looking. This is an antique music or book stand made of cast iron. Metal and wood. It is in very nice working condition. It breaks down easily and is fully adjustable. It come on wheels or casters which also work well. There is a nut on the bottom which when unscrewed allow for the four legs to come off. I have been able to use all of the adjustments accept the one that moves the unit up and down. That finger screw is tight and I don't want to force it. I see no reason why it wouldn't work given time and patience. This stand has been well cared for and displayed for many years but it is used and there are some marks. There is also a spot under the ledge on one side of the wood that has the remnants of an old sticker or mark of some kind. I was told this was a Victorian piece but I am no expert and really do ... moreno know its age. It looks very nice in the corner of my den. This is for a great looking 1890's Victorian cast iron with oak wood book stand. Marked and made by Noyes 6. Aermotor Co. Chicago. Many of these were used by the distributor of Aermotor windmills for their sales and parts catalog. This is in nice original condition. The wood portion is oak. Original gold colored finish to the cast iron. No damage or repairs to the nice fragile cast iron. Everything function properly. Has the original castors. The lower marked part turns to allow for the adjustment for the height of this stand. The legs when spread out has a course thread and the marked piece turns on that acting as a nut to tighten the stand. This will be disassembled for shipping purposes. Winner pays UPS shipping

Wonderful antique Victorian cast iron and walnut bible/book stand for your consideration. These are much harder to find in walnut. The stand is completely portable and breaks down in seconds. All adjustments are easy to make and work like it was made yesterday. All pictures were taken before cleaning just after I found it in a barn here in Amherst. NH. Barn dates from the late 1700s and the homestead was once owned by a man of the cloth adding a little nostalgia to the piece. Will make a wonderful addition to any decor from primitives to industrial and steampunk. I've had a few of these in the past and this by far is nicest fully working example I've found. Antique Cast Iron and Wood Library Book Stand Geo Flanagan Chicago. Illinois Spider leg and bat wing We are very pleased to offer a wonderful cast iron book stand by George Flanagan. Chicago, Ill. This turn of the century book stand is a wonderful example of the industrial age of Chicago. The stand has its original wood casters and bat wing book leaves. The graceful spider legs clamp the adjustable stand with a locking counterbalance-extra shelf bearing the makers name. The unique bat wing stand uses cast iron and maple spring loaded leaves that can be adjusted for the thickness of the book up to about 24" from wing to wing. the height of the stand can go from 20" to about 35" The base of the legs are 15" from leg to adjacent leg. It dates circa 1899( Victorian/Edwardian) and is still fully functional! This graceful stand ... morewould make a great addition to any personal library or steampunk collection. Condition: The stand does have chipping paint on the adjustable center tube. The maple bat wing leaves do have checking and drying cracks but are strong and stable. The screws attaching the wood were replaced at some point and need to be replaced so the wood will snug up to the iron as they wiggle a little as attached now. I have not replaced them as we offer our items as we found it and we do not alter or restore our items. It should have 5 screws on each wing but now there are only 3. The locking mechanism on the width adjuster needs to be loosened up but again we leave that to the buyer. The wheels. Center table will hold items of interest measuring 18 inches wide and 16 inches long, with 4 metal/ lattice sides. Adjustments are up and down, wood panel spread apart for different size books, angle/tilts. Fully assembled is 41 inches tall in the back and 38 1/2 inches tall in the front.
