Antique Industrial Iron and Mahogany Dictionary Bible Book Stand 1900s
19th century book stand by L.W. NOYES. CHICAGO embossed in the cast iron book rack of this stand. see pic) Adjustable angles. Measures 42in tall x 19in wide. A retrofitted spring has been implemented on the left leaf to hold the rack open. It does not spring shut however but manually folds closed. Works fine to hold books in place and is fully functional for large map books and dictionaries. Light scuffs in the mahogny of the panel leafs but these can be waxed/polished away. This stand does not come apart so it is all one piece as a piece of furniture. Local pick up only but will consider fedex drop off shipping where they pack it and you pay the Fedex/Kinkos attendant by credit card on the phone. I have done this before framed posters. Best Gilded Library Book Bible Music Stand Cast Iron Oak Victorian Pat. 1895
Although I have only come across a few of these stands over the years. This one is BY FAR the best one I have owned. As it is presently configured. This book/music stands measures 44 inches tall and is a 16 x 16 inches at the foot. The finish is the original gilded finish. Which has a warm rich patina and is mostly complete. Of course there are areas that have worn more than others over the years, just a testament to a previously used and loved item. I believe the two quarter-sawn oak tablets at the top have been refinished at some point in the past and each presents very well. One could say striking in appearance. The legs have an ornate incised design running down each leg. And each leg does have the original metal caster at the bottom. Very easy to roll on a hard surface. In the center is a cast iron“basket” Complete and free from any ... morebreaks or repairs, retains most of the original finish and is a nice decorative element that also doubles as a storage area for addition books or sheet music. The center pole can be adjusted for height. And the angle of the wood tablets can also be adjusted. The mechanism underneath has a patent date of 1895, and is complete, free of any repairs and retains original authentic patina. One will notice a partial label underneath one of the oak tablets. Victorian Adjustable Book Or Bible Stand Cast Iron And Wood
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian cast iron and wood bookstand. All the parts are here. Many I've seen have casters or at least the legs taper into what look like a part that would go into a caster. These legs do not have that feature. The right side wooden leaf has a crack running the length of it. This was my aunt's and she always loved to display her gigantic old dictionary. She passed away a few years ago and I'm finally down to parting with it. I can't provide a maker on this or an actual date of production. I've merely compared it to some I've seen here on eBay. I do not believe the wood has been refinished. Age-appropriate wear throughout on both the wood and the metal. I have excellent feedback and have been providing buyers with quality antiques. For your bidding consideration in this auction is an Antique. Cast Iron& Wood Music/ Bible/ Book Stand. This is a recent Estate Acquisition in overall fabulous condition. The stand is a beautiful Victorian style and made by L.W. Noyes Aermotor Co. Mr. Noyes founded the Aermotor Company in Chicago in 1888 so my estimate is that this piece, with beautiful arched legs. Wooden caster wheels and Heart of Pine wood(very rarely used today as this was only found in virgin timber) was made circa 1890. The Stand has adjusting areas for angle of the book table as well as allowing it to swivel 360 degrees. The table top/ work surface can rest perfectly flat or adjusted to almost a 90 degree angle. The arched Legs drop down to the wooden caster wheels which are 16" apart. The wood book table is basically 2 parts- each is kept in place by a cast ... moreiron locking handle. When the handle is released, the 2 parts, due to the heavy spring action, fold easily up and together for storage. The top section is removable from the stand for shipping. Antique Hamilton adjustable stand. Gorgeous wood. Great grain holder on cast iron stand. Claw footed patterned. Wood measures 20" wide by 14 high, and book rest is 2" deep x 20 long. at highest point overall, measures 57 1/2" tall. Lowest setting is 36 1/2" Can accommodate a tall adult down to a small child, and all in between. Wood holder adjust at different angles and even flat, and swivels as well. Old Label on wood states"Its a Hamilton"with unbreakable(base) A screw goes through that word. Great character rust and wear. Worn from use and may need a little grinding to help it snap into place better and lock. Easy fix for one knowledgeable of grinding metal. Missing the base and one wood book holder. Possibly another piece of pipe to extend taller depending what would have been with the base. Wood other book holder has varnish loss. Scuffs and scratches, few cracks. Pipe measures approx. 20 1/8" long not counting the cast iron piece connected to it. Book holder measures approx. 13 1/4" tall x 8 1/8" wide. The wood finish does show some age wear, but no cracks or chips and can be seen in the close up pictures. The cast iron cradle in the center is designed to support the spine of the book. The little shelf below has decorative pierced iron design with guards at each end. Perhaps shelf is meant for holding other volumes? The stand breaks down and assembles very easily. This is for a great looking 1890's Victorian cast iron with oak wood book stand. Marked and made by Noyes 6. Aermotor Co. Chicago. Many of these were used by the distributor of Aermotor windmills for their sales and parts catalog. This is in nice original condition. The wood portion is oak. Original gold colored finish to the cast iron. No damage or repairs to the nice fragile cast iron. Everything function properly. Has the original castors. The lower marked part turns to allow for the adjustment for the height of this stand. The legs when spread out has a course thread and the marked piece turns on that acting as a nut to tighten the stand. This will be disassembled for shipping purposes. Winner pays UPS shipping

Wonderful antique Victorian cast iron and walnut bible/book stand for your consideration. These are much harder to find in walnut. The stand is completely portable and breaks down in seconds. All adjustments are easy to make and work like it was made yesterday. All pictures were taken before cleaning just after I found it in a barn here in Amherst. NH. Barn dates from the late 1700s and the homestead was once owned by a man of the cloth adding a little nostalgia to the piece. Will make a wonderful addition to any decor from primitives to industrial and steampunk. I've had a few of these in the past and this by far is nicest fully working example I've found. The bottom is cast iron with a nickel plated brass cover and between the two is a cloth covered wood turning, with the original 1800s cloth. The stand is fully adjustable for angle of tilt by a large thumb screw. Measures approx. 16” H x 8” W. The brackets extend 2 ¾” This is a very high quality stand. Up for auction is a beautiful antique Victorian book stand. It is constructed of cast iron and oak with the base being designed with the pattern sometimes referred to as"Angel Wings" It is adjustable and is in great shape for its age. There is a split on one side of the wooden slat and a few chips and a break to the metal underneath which is shown in the picture. It still works fine and performs all functions.
