This fine piece features beautiful geometric and incised carvings, pierced carvings, turned finials and spindles along with burl walnut accents, the original mirror and original marble. This shaving stand measures 68 inches in height to the top of the finials on the mirror. Height from the floor to the marble top measures 41 1/2 inches, with a total width of 18 1/2 inches and total depth of 18 inches and this stand weighs approximately 55 lbs. This solid cast iron plant/lamp stand is late Victorian(c. 1885) It apears to be consistent with American design and manufacture. There are no found maker's marks on the stand. The stand appears to be in great condition with no apparent breaks. Damage, repairs or missing parts. The gold paint is in excellent condition for the use and age. The top and bottom aprons have ornate pierced, reticulated Victorian floral designs on them. see picture 2) The legs each have a dragon-like casting on them(see picture 4) The top and bottom pieces of onyx are in great shape with no known cracks, chips or damage. This late Victorian brass plant/lamp stand is in great original found condition. The stand and onyx appears to be in fine condition with no apparent damage. Repairs or missing parts. The brass patina is very good and probably has never been polished or cleaned. However, it could be cleaned and polished if so desired. The top apron is ornately detailed. The spiral(twisted) legs end in turned ball feet. There is a reticulated, Victorian designed shelf near the bottom of the stand. It serves as a stretcher for the legs, and can also be used as a shelf. The approx. dimensions are as follows: 29 1/2" H; top 14" x 14" and the bottom shelf is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2. Just what the title says. Here's a real nice Antique Late Victorian Marble Top Brass/Gilded Iron Plant/Lamp Table/Stand. This stand is in very solid condition. Cosmetically. I't as good as it gets in antique furniture. There's no damage, no repairs. It's in wonderful original condition with a great patina. The marble is in great shape as well. Thereare 2 very minor super ficial nics on the edge. They can barely be fet to the touch. There shown in the pics and hardly visible. I don't sell suprises. So while they're minor issues, I mention them. I'll estimate this piece around the turn of the 20th century in age. The stand is 30" high. It's 12 1/2" at the widest bend in the legs. Plant stand has a double beveled edge round top that is approximately 11 1/2 inches in diameter and stands approximately 29 1/4 inches tall. It has a turned center pillar. But does have some imperfections and normal signs of wear on the top due to its age. ANTIQUE VINTAGE CANE UMBRELLA PLANT STAND OCTAGONAL MAHOGANY VICTORIAN BEDPOST
24" tall. 11" diameter cane or umbrella stand. Octagonal column is constructed of solid mahogany boards, molding around the bottom is also mahogany, four feet are veneered. I think that this stand was made from the bottom section of a mid-Victorian bed post from a tester bed. If you are familiar with beds made by cabinetmakers like Mallard or Lee, the octagonal form was very popular. For whatever reason(fashion, low ceilings) a bed was taken apart and the lowest section of a bedpost was repurposed as a hall stand with the addition of four scroll feet- that look like they came from a Victorian footstool and two handles on the side that look like sections of molding. The reconfiguration was not done recently- the nails holding the feet in show some surface rust and the screws attaching the bottom panel are not new either. The reimagining ... moreof the bedpost was probably done in the mid 20th century or before. It makes an interesting history and I think it makes a very handsome and impressive looking stand for your canes or umbrellas. It would make a great stand for a fern or other houseplant too. The finish on the wood is old. The mahogany has a lovely dark red color. There is finish wear and some scratches and marks, the veneer is quite worn on the feet. There is a split on one of the eight panels that would be an easy fix with wood glue and some strap clamps. VERY UNUSUAL antique victorian era plant stand. The stone top was probably hand painted and glazed somehow. I'm not an expert on what the materials etc are for this piece. I bought this many years ago from an estate sale and have loved it through the years. I remember the person I bought it from in Indianapolis said it had been in the family for years. LARGE VICTORIAN FUMED OAK BARLEY TWIST PLANT STAND
Offered for sale is a large Victorian Dark Oak Barley Twist Plant Stand. Stands like these generally graced the entry way or halls of Victorian homes and were usually surmounted by ferns and other draping plants. Curiously. This doesn't have the usual watermarks from leaky flower pots that generally tended to ruin these things. The only things missing are 3 small corbels from under the top& a dowelled piece of gingerbread that graced the middle of the bottom brace, all of which could be easily duplicated. The stand is about 42" tall. The top is about 14" in diameter; the flat plant stand surface is about 12" in diameter. The bas feet are about 18" in diameter. Antique Victorian Walnut Plant Stand, Parlor Table / Original Finish
THis is an Estate Sale find that was sold to me as a Victorian walnut piece. It looks to have it's original finish. There are some scratches and a water stain on the top. It seems sturdy with no broken or loose pieces. It would look awesome with a nice fern on top or whatever else you can imagine. It is app. 31" tall x(15 1/2" long and 11 1/2" wide on the top piece. My friend who deals in Antiques called and told me that it could also be a side table or a Parlor table because of the size of the top. Carved Walnut Figural Victorian Egret & Dolphin Pedestal Plant Stand
For your consideration is this carved walnut figural Victorian pedestal stand. It measures just over 26" tall with the base at 10" in diameter and the top at 8" in diameter. It features a very elaborate design that includes a carved full bodied bird. An egret I believe, with it's talons holding a fish which does resemble a dolphin. It's all solid walnut and likely dates to the late 19th century, 1890 to possibly 1910 or so. The round dished top could hold a plant or a variety of decorative objects for display purposes. Calling cards were popular in the day and this could be a stand that received those. However it is used today, it would make quite an impact in a variety of interior settings. Gorgeous Victorian Renaissance Revival Plant Stand/Table
Offered for auction is another piece from my personal collection. A gorgeous Victorian Renaissance Revival stand. Original finish. Has incised carving which retains some of the original gilding. Numerous button finials top the ends and sides of the legs. The top appears to have been a replacement, but it is not a recent replacement. This piece likely originally had a picture frame marble top, but I acquired it as you see it now. The current wood top has fabulous grain and pattern. No cracks or separations to the pieces. Some minor scuffs and a couple of the finials have chipped tips, but nothing that detracts. A very stable and very heavy stand. Just a great piece in really good original finish. Antique Victorian 2 tier Oak Wood Plant Lamp Display Stand Table with beautiful Turned legs and ball feet. Top has discoloration. Varnish loss, scuffs and scratches to the base. This unit will need to be glued if desired. We removed the glue from the top where the four legs connect so we could easily ship this item safely and at a reasonable price. I recommend gorilla glue, follow the direction carefully and don't add to much as it does expand. We will not be responsible in any way if the buyer has any problems re-assembling the table, stripping a screw, or breaking something ect. Top could be refinished if desired but has character and shows the years of use and enjoyment the table has given to others. Well over 100 years old! I am Selling a Original 1880's Victorian Period Fern Stand. The piece is made of Walnut wood with a beautiful detailed designed base with three legs. The stand measures 30" tall. Top is 14" round and base is also about 14" wide. The Stand is in great, clean original condition, solid with no breaks or damage, top has usual lite wear for its age and again has not be restored, just polished. Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Beautiful true antique Victorian plant stand. American Eastlake period. Dates to the 1880s or 1890s. Solid walnut. Tripod legs. Square top. Has incised carving on legs as well as incised carving of horseshoe on top. Solid and sturdy. Over 120 years old. Good condition for age. Structurally solid. Vigorously refinished at one time(not by us) Overly shiny newer finish used when refinished. Slight seam separation on board top is not a crack but just a slight separation on boards on top(pic#4) Finish on top has some blemishes when refinished(looks like a roller touched is a few places when finish applied) Minor wear. Scratches, and dings as expected on a piece of this age. To me the blemishes are quite minor and this is a beautiful antique American Victorian plant stand ready to use.
