Wood shaving stand w beveled mirror drawer 21-inch hanging cabinet Victorian era
Offered is this charming solid wood shaving stand with beveled mirror and storage drawer. We believe this to be walnut. This cabinet can rest on its four feet. Or it can be hung on the wall. This one has a wire hanger on the back for hanging. The piece has two shelves. The wider one is 6 inches deep and appears above the drawer while the narrow shelf is 3 inches deep and appears below the carved top piece, above the mirror. The shaving cabinet stands 21.5 inches tall and measures 9 inches wide. It is almost 7 inches deep at the deepest point. This piece dates to the Victorian era. Late 1800s or early 1900s. It is a fine piece of cabinet work. This stand is in very good condition for its years. However. Some minor flaws need to be mentioned. The drawer pull, which appears to be brass, has been broken, as you can see if you look closely at ... morethe photos. The wood back has split near the edge, where nails have been inserted. The finish on the beveled mirror shows some small imperfections to the silver. There is a small metal fixture attached to one side of this stand. I have had many quarter sawn oak shaving stands over the years but this is certainly up near the top in quality. Adjustable mirror(up and down and tilts) which is beveled and shaped. A drawer just under the mirror. Two drawers in the base along with a door. Note the drawers and door all have the original unusual hardware. Two round side doors; one on either side. Probably the most interesting thing is the hidden drawer in the bottom of the piece-supported by the fancy center leg. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth and even finish. BENEATH THE MIRROR THE TOP IS SOLID WALNUT WITH TWO DRAWERS UNDERNEATH. THE DRAWERS HAVE EASTLAKE DOVETAILING. BURLED WALNUT FRONTS, AND ORIGINAL BRASS BACKPLATES. This is a wonderful antique solid black walnut gentleman’s shaving stand. With burl walnut accent trim, and dating from the 1880s. We brought ... morethis stand in, scuffed it up a bit and re-sprayed it to remove nicks and dings off the top surface, and to brighten up the burl so it jumps out at you. We left the original mirror intact because it has wear marks that give it so much charm and character. The rod goes up and down to adjust for height, and the mirror swivels. The drawer has a compartment for the shaving brushes, and of course is all dovetail and has burl panels. The brass on the piece is quite unique. It stands on a multi-turn column four-legged base, and is all set to go in the home. The overall size is 18.5 inches at the widest point, 12.5 inches deep, and 7 inches high. From the ground to the drawer cabinet is 42 inches. The mirror is sitting at 34 inches high, but can be adjusted up and down. The thumb screw is broken, but will replace that. Antique Victorian Walnut Rococo Revival Style Shaving Stand With Mirror
This wonderful walnut shaving stand is in a Rococo revival style and was produced during the height of the Victorian period. It stands 70 inches to the top of the mirror. The case with the drawer is 17 inches across and 12 inches deep. The top of the case is 41 inches from the floor. The drawer is a nice dovetailed construction. The mirror moves front to back on a swivel. The mirror lifts out of the case and rests on a turned post. There is a split underneath the mirror on the seam. I believe it just needs to be tightened. Also. There are circle stain or water marks on top of the case. Otherwise the piece is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. All parts appear to be original. Antique Victorian c1890 Walnut Shaving Stand Scrolled Ball Detail Rare Roccoco
This rare Victorian shaving stand was owned by a collector for many years. It is constructed mainly of walnut. But is also made with other various species of wood. Great applied scrolled and ball detail with downturned finials on the top. The stand also has a lid that opens to store toiletries. It is in what I consider mint condition. However there are two very minute cracks in the wood at the top and bottom of the mirror(last two photos) that are not noticeable unless scrutinized up close, but I have to mention. Antique Gentleman's Shaving Stand w/ adjustable mirror & felt-lined drawers
This is an antique gentleman's shaving stand. I've had an antique dealer tell me it was made of solid cherry wood and is over 100 years old. He also said it has been refinished and the mirror was replaced. It is in mint condition. The mirror is vertically adjustable and tilts perfectly to varying degrees. There is two flip-top felt-lined drawers which are fully functional for storing shaving supplies or toiletries Because of the age of this piece. This should be a local sale and I don't want to take a chance on having it shipped. Although, it is a very sturdy and well made piece.

The case has various scuffs and shallow scratches with the inside of the compartments having slight adhesive stain and scratches.
