Antique Federal Greek Revival Sewing Stand Hand Carved Dovetails Period
We found this in a smoke free estate and it is in wonderful condition. The only drawback is a split on the underbelly of the bottom draw as shown in photo. Otherwise you will love the condition. This is a nice old piece. Very sturdy and looks great. Measures 28 3/4 inches tall and 17 1/2 inches square. We will pack this piece in a 35 inch tall by 24 x 24 box with a weight of 35 pounds for $20. You must arrange and pay for all shipping. If you have a furniture mover pick up we can store for 30 days and will not have to pack in box just let us know. Empire Mahogany Sewing Stand 2 Drawers with Brass Locks and Pull Out Bowl Drawer Great antique sewing stand for you buying consideration. Recently picked this piece up at a high end catalog sale auction in PA. I see no makers mark on this piece. If any of you out there know whom might of made it. Please let me know. Your identity will be kept anonymous. Thanks. Great finish on this piece of furniture. The two drawers still have their glass pulls. The brass lock mechanism is still on each drawer as well(no key for the lock) The stand also has two drop leaves and the hinges to hold them up are still there and work just fine. The top of the table was pieced together originally from 4 pieces of wood and the seaming has started to come apart and needs some attention. The wood is not split on top. That is the seams. The fabric around the bowl drawer ... moreis very worn and needs to be replaced(coming off the drawer, lots of loss of color, wear and tears) The carved detailings on the legs are just incredible. The legs do show repairs having been performed and the work was done pretty well. The sewing stand is 29.25" tall. By 22.75" across(41-5/8" across with leaves up) by 17-5/8" wide. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. The sewing stand is too delicate and large for shipping via freight. So local pick-up only. Antique sewing stand with pressed leather look or used for plant stand
This sewing stand is 29" high. 13" in width. It has 3 legs with two tiers, the larger being on the bottom. On the upper tier, one of the 3 spaces between the legs, the pressed leather look is missing so it needs to be against a window or wall so you don't see it. It fell off and my cleaning person threw it away hoping I wouldn't see! I have owned this stand for 45 years.
