This original rack is 29" long~~3 3/4" tall~~the oak wood is 13/16" tall and 1/2" thick~~the 5 hangers are 2 1/2" long and 2 3/16" tall. As my 3rd and 4th pictures show. You can hang this rack using either side. One side is fluted. The other side is pla in and shows the saw blade's marks. All 5 of these hooks will swivel 360 degrees. The previous owner that was the barber told me that he worked there for 55 years and they were hanging in the back of the building before he even started working there. Old wooden hat and coat rack has 1 original metal rod running through 6 double hooks. Material: Beautifully grained natural oak and cast iron Size: Overall 38” long. Here is a hard-to-find old wall rack for hats and coats. These were used on trains and train stations. In offices and banks and other commercial places. Today. We want them for our homes. This one measures 31" long and the hooks come out almost 7" from the wall. The hooks are in great shape with no cracks or breaks. The back board is oak and is original. It is stamped"Udell's hat& Coat Rack Udell's W W Works Indianapolis" on the back. The back board has been painted black. Has a crack and several mounting holes drilled into it. The hat rack dowel is pine and has a small split in each end where they put the mounting screw in. Not a perfect piece but will work perfectly and at a great price.

Here we have a lovely antique railroad coat hook- hat rack.Tthe wood is old and cracked but when mounted with the existing screws is still sturdy on the wall. The wood measures 30" x 3 5/8" It has five nicely decorated iron double hooks connected with steel rods and thin wire caging. So of the thin wire caging is bent. The top hook sticks out about 2 1/8" from the base and the bottom hook sticks out about 1 1/4" from the base. The top rack part sticks up about 6" from the base. The rack appears to have been painted black long ago and the wood has several holes drilled in it(not original) The rack has rust and stains and wear( seems age appropriate- No damage at all to the hooks-PLEASE SEE ALL 12 ENLARGEABLE PHOTOS. Antique Cast Iron Hooks & Walnut Wall Mount Hat Coat Rack train railroad pullman
I have up for sale a wonderful vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s approx 37" Cast Iron Hook with Walnut Back Board Wall Mount Coat Hat Rack. This type of rack was used in the Pullman/ Sleeping train cars. Most of the time that you see these. They are all beat up- this particular one is in really nice shape for its age. This is cleanest one that I have seen in quite a few years. The walnut backboard is in great shape. Nice clean original finish- the only issue is that approx 5/8" was cut off on the right end- maybe so it could fit a certain spot. The iron hooks are excellent. The wood section is approx 37" long. The metal rack 35" or so. It weighs approx 4 lbs as it sits. I will package with care and send fully insured.
