Made in England, Victorian era, Circa 1890, Mahogany, Hidden drawer, Carved leg, Dovetailed drawer, Some normal wear to top, Age splits and old repairs to apron, A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand. But today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table ... moresome pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don't over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. The top is a beautiful patinated mahogany. It is in good condition. You can see the slight ring to the right side. The top does show signs of wear consistent with age in the form of tiny dings all over the surface some of which can be seen here. The wonderfully carved leg is supportive and good looking. The hidden drawer pulls out to reveal some storage space. The drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Both sides have similar slight age separations and repairs on the apron. This floor shaving stand with a tilt mirror is in the Eastlake style. The age of the piece is c. 1870-1890. It is in great found original condition. The mahogany finish is original with a good patina. The original beveled mirror tilts at various angles to accomodate one who is shaving. The dovetailed drawer has the original pulls to it. 19th century book stand by L.W. NOYES. CHICAGO embossed in the cast iron book rack of this stand. see pic) Adjustable angles. Measures 42in tall x 19in wide. A retrofitted spring has been implemented on the left leaf to hold the rack open. It does not spring shut however but manually folds closed. Works fine to hold books in place and is fully functional for large map books and dictionaries. Light scuffs in the mahogny of the panel leafs but these can be waxed/polished away. This stand does not come apart so it is all one piece as a piece of furniture. Here is a beautiful ebony mahogany Empire revival pedestal plant stand. Sadly its missing the claw feet it once had and the trim underneath the top table piece. It has some chips to the bamboo styled neck of the stand. But overall this piece still commands attention.The table top is in very nice condition, a little corner wear, thats all. It stands 34 in tall as is and the table top piece is 16 in square and the base is 14 in square.The stand weighs 20lbs. ANTIQUE VINTAGE CANE UMBRELLA PLANT STAND OCTAGONAL MAHOGANY VICTORIAN BEDPOST
24" tall. 11" diameter cane or umbrella stand. Octagonal column is constructed of solid mahogany boards, molding around the bottom is also mahogany, four feet are veneered. I think that this stand was made from the bottom section of a mid-Victorian bed post from a tester bed. If you are familiar with beds made by cabinetmakers like Mallard or Lee, the octagonal form was very popular. For whatever reason(fashion, low ceilings) a bed was taken apart and the lowest section of a bedpost was repurposed as a hall stand with the addition of four scroll feet- that look like they came from a Victorian footstool and two handles on the side that look like sections of molding. The reconfiguration was not done recently- the nails holding the feet in show some surface rust and the screws attaching the bottom panel are not new either. The reimagining ... moreof the bedpost was probably done in the mid 20th century or before. It makes an interesting history and I think it makes a very handsome and impressive looking stand for your canes or umbrellas. It would make a great stand for a fern or other houseplant too. The finish on the wood is old. The mahogany has a lovely dark red color. There is finish wear and some scratches and marks, the veneer is quite worn on the feet. There is a split on one of the eight panels that would be an easy fix with wood glue and some strap clamps. antique mahogany plant or fern stands, pedestals with or without marble tops
for auction is a very nice pair of mahogany pedestals or plant stands. they have marble tops with them. But some may prefer to use them without the marble as the tops are finished nicely and show nice mahogany grain. the marble tops are used in the most part to protect the tops from water rings etc. so you can take them or leave them. the tops are not original to the pedestals. i would like to apologize for all the dust, i did not realize how dirty they were until i looked at the pictures. anything you see on the tops or anywhere is something that will wipe right off. also, although these pedestals look like a pair, they do not match exactly, they are the same height and diameter but there are some minor differences in them, ie. in the feet and rings and contours on the shaft. they go great together, but again they are not identical. i am ... morelisting them together and the price will buy both, however, if you only want one, let me know and we can work it out for the purchase of one or i can relist them as singles. they are 32 inches tall with the marble, a bit over 31 without it. the diameter of the marble tops is 14.25, the diameter of the mahogany tops are 31.5 inches. the diameter across the toes at the bottom is a bit over 17 inches. they are a nice set of antique pedestals and look good together and are hard to tell apart unless you scrutinize them closely. they may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. they can go usps, ups, fedex, or greyhound. good luck.

Up for auction is this exquisite antique hat and coat rack. I could see this in a fine clothing shoppe or gentleman's parlor. Just so beautifully made and quite ingenious. Too. The four hat stands plus all the pegs swing open and close to desired position. Made of mahogany wood, it has survived in wonderful condition. There is some age to the finish as shown, as well as one bottom peg was replaced sometime during its life. I think this adds to the charm of the item, but you are to decide. With the hat stands in the straight out position, the rack measures approx. 38" w x 30 1/2" h x 8" d. This Plant Stand is 31 inches high and measures 16 inches across the top. It held the telephone in my parents home from 1936 until 2008. I believe it came from my grandmother's home and dates around 1880. It withstood the band of Irish hooligans that lived there. It started off with the old bakelite party phone and ended up with a panasonic phone. The spindle is tight to the base. for sale a very nice mahogany pedestal with great griffin heads( 4 of them) at the top and great claw feet at the bottom. i don't know who made this piece. Possibly horner, it has great form and nice acanthus carving at the bottom coming up and acanthus carving below the griffin heads at the top. the heads are large and deep. it has a shaped layered top. the top itself shows some water and use areas. should someone want that redone i would be glad to do it before i send it. it doesn't bother me as i have marble piece made for the top. it is 15 inches square at the bottom and tapers upwards to the top platform which is somewhat over 13.5 inch diameter. it stands 38.5 inches tall without the marble, 39.5 with the marble. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck. it can more than likely go via postal ... moreservice. 1890 ANTIQUE MAHOGANY CLAW FOOT w/ LION HEADS VICTORIAN HALL TREE STAND - 7 foot
This auction is for Pick-up Only. Hall Tree is too large for me to ship. It can be picked up in North Central New Jersey or buyer may make arrangements with their own shipper for pickup. This auction is for a Late 19th Century Victorian Mahogany Hall Tree. It measures approx. 86" tall or just over 7 feet. It has a carved ball at the top. It has 5 Brass hangers on top. It is missing one hanger. It is covered with Acanthus leaf carvings at the top near hangers and again down the column. it has a tapering spiral carved section at the top of the column(see pictures) The base has has four legs with Lion heads which have open mouths and another Acanthus type leaf in front of that. Legs end in a large paw foot. The carvings on this have outstanding detail(see pictures) Finish is original and has a nice Dark Mahogany Patina(color) There are ... morea few scuffs to end of paw feet. Small chip on Acanthus carving was glued back on, and a few small chips missing to carvings here& there but nothing major. Nice large legs on this piece. Legs measure 3.5" wide. Usually you would see legs like these on an item and they would be a little loose or have an open joint but these legs are tight and very strong with no opening or play at the joint of the column. Top section does come apart with large original dowel(see picture) This will need to be reglued by buyer or buyer will need to have someone who is familiar with gluing a dowel to glue this for them. The Hall tree transports much easier with top off. A superb Antique Hall Tree with a 100 year old+ Original Finish. Item must be paid for with Paypal prior to pickup.
