Allowing easy access to your overnight bag, and a great Mid Century Modern look. These were used in the Modern era by many hotels. And you can still find metal inexpensive ones in some hotels. This one is all wood construction. Opens and closes easily and is designed to be held in the'open' position with three attractive ribbon straps. The straps that are on the stand are original. But one has broken/torn, see picts. You may be able to patch it from the backside, but I have also purchased some inexpensive cloth ribbon to that you can see how easy it would be to totally change the look. Customizing it to your decor. This cloth ribbon was purchased at Walmart for 59 cents a yard. Yes less then $2.00 for yards. At that price you could change the straps to match a holiday decor or even to customize it to the rooms that you might use it in. See picts. It has the original cast iron drip pans, umbrella arms are intact, pegs are all intact and a fancy out cutout crest top with a tombstone mirror below. The mirror appears to be original and in good condition as well. The overall size is 42 inches wide at the widest point, 17.5 inches deep at the deepest point, 31 inches high to the marble top and 88 inches high overall. The size of the looking glass is 15 inches by 24 inches. The dove tail drawer has had a knob replaced, but I didn’t even notice it at first. It is in really nice original condition. It has a quartz color marble, burl ... morefront dove tail drawer, burl panels throughout, incise carving, floral relief carving, carvings all over, burl panels all over and a most unusual hat peg. It has a simulated metal cap on the front. It is nice and straight. The only thing I see wrong with it is that the back of the side pieces has a support brace missing on the left hand bracket, but other than that it is nice. We will detail out the cracked panel and make sure it is tight and sturdy prior to shipping. The overall size is 54 inches wide, 17 inches deep on the base, 21 inches high to the marble, and 98 inches high to the top. The tag reads"COLBY'S 18652" I discovered that Colby's Home Furnishings was a major high end Chicago furniture retailer. Originally a furniture maker started in 1868. They are also stamped"Made in France" in the wood. I believe these are late 19th century. Beautiful marble top and Bronze mounts and trim. Compressed bun feet. Umberella stand with a brass drip pan. This hall tree has some wonderful carving on it there are spade designs, round carved balls at the top and a rectangular carving in the middle.
