This is certainly a great walnut Victorian fern stand or pedestal. I have sold a lot of pedestals in my years in business but have never had this particular model before. Excellent condition(nice and sturdy) with brown beveled edge marble top. The stretcher has a nicely carved. Dog and dog house in center-very finely carved. Note the claw feet and scalloped skirt. Here is a beautiful ebony mahogany Empire revival pedestal plant stand. Sadly its missing the claw feet it once had and the trim underneath the top table piece. It has some chips to the bamboo styled neck of the stand. But overall this piece still commands attention.The table top is in very nice condition, a little corner wear, thats all. It stands 34 in tall as is and the table top piece is 16 in square and the base is 14 in square.The stand weighs 20lbs. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique(19th Century) pedestal plant stand or table base. This is an extremely well made and wonderfully crafted piece made of either oak or walnut. Though not marked, the stand feature 4 brass talon/claw and wood ball feet which were used extensively by the Merklen Brothers Furniture Company. The feet hold the raised base which is a graduated, turned wood design. The turned wood column features a large, carved pineapple or pine cone center detail. The thick top is quite nice and features quarter sawn wood. The stand retains the original flat screws and hardware. The stand has been EXTREMELY well preserved and though there are a few very minor surface scratches. The finish is still remarkable. The stand is heavy and is very sturdy. A very unique version with four separate surfaces one of which is top elevated and the other three extending on arms with gold incised lines. The finish is Ebonized in a black lacquer and has some red painted incised lines and looks to be gold leaf in other places. A true museum piece that showcases the many dimensioned of the Victorian era. I purchased this from the Brown Mansion estate out side of Alexandria Va and the entire estate had a rich history. No makers mark. Great carving. I think it is black walnut. Its in good original condition. Only damage is the right arm was broken off& glued back on some time ago. It is a pretty tight fit. There is also an age crack on the back& right side. No bad chips or gouges. It stands 28 1/2 inches tall. The base is 8 5/8 inches across. Top is 7 1/4 inches across. The recessed lip on top is 5 1/2 inches across. Man in a toga. Looks to be holding a Lilly Pad? Nice detailed carving. You don't see to many of these. Any questions just ask. Beautiful Antique Brass and Onyx plant or Fern Stand Pedestal.
Beautiful Brass and Onyx plant/ fern stand. It appears to be consistent with American design and manufacture. I did not find a maker's mark on the stand. The stand appears to be in great condition with no apparent breaks. Damage, repairs or missing parts. The top and bottom pieces of onyx are very nice but have a couple of small oyster chips around edges but no cracks. The bottom legs are ornate brass. The legs holding the top shelf are onyx columns and brass columns with decorative pieces. I am not sure of the metal holding the onyx columns. A magnet does not stick to them. The stand is about 31 inches tall. The bottom shelf is 11.25" high. The top onyx 12" x 12" the bottom is 10" x 10" Both are 3/4 inch thick. The plant stand weights 25.8 pounds and will be disassembled for shipment.

antique mahogany horner? pedestal griffin heads claw feet great form and carving
for sale a very nice mahogany pedestal with great griffin heads( 4 of them) at the top and great claw feet at the bottom. i don't know who made this piece. Possibly horner, it has great form and nice acanthus carving at the bottom coming up and acanthus carving below the griffin heads at the top. the heads are large and deep. it has a shaped layered top. the top itself shows some water and use areas. should someone want that redone i would be glad to do it before i send it. it doesn't bother me as i have marble piece made for the top. it is 15 inches square at the bottom and tapers upwards to the top platform which is somewhat over 13.5 inch diameter. it stands 38.5 inches tall without the marble, 39.5 with the marble. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. good luck. it can more than likely go via postal ... moreservice.
