1886 Antique Oak Wall Criss Cross Mission-Style Hat & Coat Rack
This is an antique coat. Glove and hat rack. It is stamped on the back and carved into the wood on the back"MAR 31, 1885& SEPT 14, 1886" It is approximately 32" wide, 20" high and 9" deep. I think that the wood is oak. It is in good condition for its age. The metal brackets are intact and have just a little surface rust. The mirror is foggy due to age and the material that it is made of. There are hooks attached to it for hanging. I love this item! It is very unusual. This item comes from a smoke/pet free home. Up for auction is this exquisite antique hat and coat rack. I could see this in a fine clothing shoppe or gentleman's parlor. Just so beautifully made and quite ingenious. Too. The four hat stands plus all the pegs swing open and close to desired position. Made of mahogany wood, it has survived in wonderful condition. There is some age to the finish as shown, as well as one bottom peg was replaced sometime during its life. I think this adds to the charm of the item, but you are to decide. With the hat stands in the straight out position, the rack measures approx. 38" w x 30 1/2" h x 8" d. Offered here is a 19th century Victorian wall mount stick and ball oak wood coat/ hat rack with iron swivel hooks and a center beveled mirror. There is no damage to the wood. Iron hooks or mirror. One small hook is missing and there is some expected age to the silver on the mirror which is still clear and usable. The gold tone on the hooks is also worn somewhat and they have a nice aged patina. Both wall mount brackets are included in good condition. It is in very nice condition and looks great. I have up for sale a wonderful vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s approx 37" Cast Iron Hook with Walnut Back Board Wall Mount Coat Hat Rack. This type of rack was used in the Pullman/ Sleeping train cars. Most of the time that you see these. They are all beat up- this particular one is in really nice shape for its age. This is cleanest one that I have seen in quite a few years. The walnut backboard is in great shape. Nice clean original finish- the only issue is that approx 5/8" was cut off on the right end- maybe so it could fit a certain spot. The iron hooks are excellent. The wood section is approx 37" long. Antique Cast Iron 5 Hook Wood Wall Mount Hat Coat Rack Train Railroad Pullman
You are looking at a great pullman wood and cast metal coat and hat rack. I think the wood seems to be oak. But I am not positive. It is in very nice shape. The back has a small amount of paint residue present. The rack measures approximately 31" long x 8" tall x 6 1/2" deep. This is GORGEOUS! Other than the mirror which was damaged in a move. It is totally original! It is approx 23" long and 13 3/4" high! Lots of nice detail and it still retains the original hooks. And 2 round metal hooks for hanging this piece on a wall! In EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION! This is not my area of expertise. Peerless Antique Wood Wall Mount Coat Scarf Hat Rack Hanger Primitive hardware
One vintage four hook/two rack wall mount Peerless brand coat/hat hanger. Measures 2' wide by 6 1/2" tall and has two eyelets on back for mounting to your wall. I believe it to be circa 1890's but I'm not certain. Purchased from a woman in northern Kentucky who said it came from an estate near Lebanon Ohio. Appears to be all oak. And hardware has oxidation on all four hooks. Excellent example and rare find Peerless in this style. Any information/history would be welcomed regarding this piece! My wife purchased it at a Consignment Store on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena California over twenty ago. Of course, we are both up in our years now so the estimate on the purchase might be off a couple of years plus or minus. The shelf is in good overall vintage condition for its age. With normal signs of age and use, dings, scratches and other imperfections. A couple of the hooks are missing a screw or two, but it has several other hooks and the little screws can be replaced by the new owner!
