Art Deco Style Oak Ball & Stick Coat/Hat & Umbrella Stand With Brass Hardware
We are pleased to offer this funky coat rack. This is done in the art deco style. There are no tags with a maker on this piece. We believe this is from the mid to late 40's possibly early 50's. The rack stands 62.56" high. The top has round balls for hanging hats. The balls are attached to three stick style wooden posts that end with matching ball feet. Near the top of the rack there is a large ball in the center of the tripod that holds the piece together. There are three hooks with backplates screwed through the poles and into the ball. The sides of the posts have brass hooks with decorative round scallop edge button backs. These are the pieces that run through the posts into the ball. Three quarters of the way down the rack there are hooks on each pole to hold a chain for the umbrella tray. This section of chain is missing. ... moreThere is a second row of hooks with chains attached to the base plate closer to the bottom. The umbrella plate sits at the base of the tripod. It is made from wood and has carvings and decorative brass accents on the outer rim. There are chains attched to the sides that connect to the hooks on the poles. There are age and use appropriate scratches dings and scuffs on this. Overall the condition on this is great. This is one of those unusual hard to find items that is sure to add an interesting and artistic presence to a foyer or corner. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown. Charming antique quilt stand or rack. Classic Victorian stick-and-ball design. Beautifully bent dome shape at the top of each side. Two whimsically curved feet support the structure. Overall. The stand is in good estate condition. One rail is missing from the piece. For the most part the stand is sturdy, but it does wobble a little end to end. No wobble side to side. Some wear to feet. Just acquired out of a wonderful. Southern Ohio estate, we are able to offer this exceptionally nice, and quite early, circa 1860's- 1880's era ~ VICTORIAN CAST IRON HALL TREE, UMBRELLA& CANE STAND, SIGNED JOHN MOORE NEW YORK ~ Please be sure to check out all of the 12 pictures we took of it. This is by far the nicest and most unusual example of an original 1870's era, Victorian Cast Iron Hall Tree stand we have ever had the opportunity to offer for auction. It measures 87 inches tall to the top of the fancy pomegranate fruit basket figural finial. The lower"hat rack" arm" by the mirror" with 4 hooks, measures 41 inches across and the top arm with 4 hooks measures 26 inches across. The base measures 28 inches wide by about 12 inches deep. There are a total of 9 very fancy large cast iron hooks which are ... moreall original to the hall tree. I even believe that the mirror is possibly original as well, with only some minor discoloration to the silvering. It has the original removeable bottom tray to rest your canes and umbrellas. The tray is signed ~ JOHN MOORE N.Y.~ on the bottom as well as signed on the back of the hall tree ~ JOHN MOORE N.Y.~ The over all condition is very nice with the exception of one broken hook on the bottom tier of cane rests- see picture# 11. It is actually not all that easy to tell because it is an inside hook. There is also one hook on the center column near the figural Lion's Head which has some damage. All of the large eight cast iron hooks on the top two sections are in perfect condition with no damage! The entire body and base is in perfect condition as well, with no cracks, chips or repairs. The patina to the cast iron is all original and we left it in 100% all original, as found, untouched condition. This would make a wonderful addition to any grand foyer entrance or a wonderful piece to display some of your prixed walking sticks or Victorian umbrellas and hats. This a great looking etagere from the 1800s. It has four shelves and is made of oak. With brass accents and a mirror. Measures 52" tall x 17-1/2" wide x 12-1/2" deep. The stained and varnished scroll-sawed back is of plywood and does not appear to be original to the piece. It is nailed to the back edge of the shelves and could be removed. very rare antique stick and ball oak magazine stand or rack folds up for storage
for auction is a hard to find antique magazine rack or stand. antique magazine stands just don't come along very often. at any rate. This is a neat one. oak stick and ball. it has the original finish, brass rings, perfect antique condition. there are no loose joints, no missing parts. it is very sturdy and ready to use. when open for use it is 40 inches tall, 13.5 inches deep, and 19.5 inches wide. the diagonal braces on the sides are pegged on and come off with little effort. this allows the magazine rack to fold up for storage. when folded up it is 52.5 inches tall. and just 2 or 3 inches thick, so it can be put under a bed or behind a door or whatever for storage. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. it can go ups, usps, or fedex to list a few avenues of delivery.

Warm walnut colored original finish. The stand features a beautiful bentwood lyre center crest accented with brass bandings. The entire stand has elaborate stick and ball spindled turnings including the front, sides and back. Please also notice that the top of the front legs have brass caps with ball finials which are missing on some others I have seen on ebay. This gorgeous music stand is fully assembled with brass caps and is very tight and super sturdy. Good looking stick& ball design shelf that was originally used as a sheet music stand. Four shelves could hold bathroom items. Trinkets in your livingroom or use this piece of furniture as an accent piece anywhere in your home! Measuring approx. 40" total height x 19-1/2" wide x 12" deep. The wood is walnut color stained finish, it is clean and usable right from the shipping box, the original brass decorative fittings are still attached. I am not an expert on items we sell. One scuff on the finish upper right side easily seen when you magnify the photo. We have not dusted or waxed any pieces that we are offering a nice soft cloth with old english oil will brighten this beauty! This would be a great piece for any room.
