It is about 82-3/4" tall, 24 to 26" wide(at different levels) and 15" deep. The Beveled Mirror is about 17 1/4" wide and 35" high and in very good condition for its age. There are 6 Coat, Cap Hooks, the two on top are Butterfly Hooks( unusual& rare) see picture 5, I have never seen these before or after we got this one) I don't know if they were on the Hall Tree from day one or if someone added them later, they are old and they compliment the attractive decorative carvings on top, plus they do match the cutout pattern above the seat perfectly.see picture 3) The Bench Seat has storage space under the lid. for auction is a wonderful hall tree or bench. more apt to be called a hall bench due to its size. this is a masculine piece or more fitting for a man's taste i would say. it is very heavy. Well constructed, thick, and strong. it has wonderful quartersaw oak used in its building. the hall bench is 48 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 18 inches from the floor to the top of the seat, and 78 inches tall. it is a true antique, built circa 1890-1910. it has a lift lid with three hinges and has a lot of storage space. as i said it is very well built and has no wiggles or wobbles. i think you could drag it behind a truck and it would stay together. as far as i know it is all original, has great patina with a nutmeg color to it from age and wonderful and abundant quartersawn flake in the boards. the front feet have a spider like appearance to them, ... moresomething not seen often. it has lots of molding and trim all over it as well as a nice shell crest with neat carvings on either side of it. the mirror is probably original but has been resilvered. hall trees this size are hard to come by and are usually pretty pricy. i am starting this one for what i paid years ago. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. i can help arrange shipment should that be of benefit to anyone. good luck. i can supply more pictures should anyone desire to see something in more detail.

A stunning black forest oak carved hall/foyer bench or monk's seat in superb condition for the age. We believe this to be from the mid 1800's most likely close to the 1860's. I am unsure if there is a piece that is supposed to attach to the back of this piece or not as there are no signs of where a back would attach. The piece measures as follows: 54" wide x 23.5" depth at corners 22.5" depth at center 22.25" height. This piece displays superb craftsmanship throughout the various carved areas. The front corners each have a nude winged maiden facing outward. The top edge is carved all the way around in one design and the bottom edge in another. The front has two carved sections flanking a carved lion head with ornate leaf/wreath/ floral accents providing a circular frame for the head. Antique Hall Bench With Potty Tiger Oak Hand Carved 25" Wide
Antique tiger oak hall seat and potty. Fine decoratice carvinf all over. The measurements are 27" high. 25" wide, and 19" deep. It weighs 35 lbs. The seat has two arms and a lift up lid that is held in place by two knobs of wood, one on each side of the arms. Inside the seat is a lid to lift up to remove the original enamel potty. This can be placed in a hallway under a mirror, in a bedroom at the end of the bed or most any room. You can place a cushion on top of the lid. It has carvings on the front and sides. Antique Oak Entry Hall Tree With Storage Bench & Beveled Mirror ( Nice & Solid )
For your consideration is this Very Nice Antique Oak Entry Hall Tree. I have been told it dates back to the late 1800s. But i am not sure, could be the early 1900s?There are no markings on it that i can see. The Hall Tree is in excellent condition, is very solid, and has a nice aged Patina look. It is about 82-3/4" tall, 24 to 26" wide(at different levels) and 15" deep. The Beveled Mirror is about 17 1/4" wide and 35" high and in very good condition for its age. There are 6 Coat, Cap Hooks, the two on top are Butterfly Hooks( unusual& rare) see picture 5, I have never seen these before or after we got this one) I don't know if they were on the Hall Tree from day one or if someone added them later, they are old and they compliment the attractive decorative carvings on top, plus they do match the cutout pattern ... moreabove the seat perfectly.see picture 3) The Bench Seat has storage space under the lid. This wonderful vintage hall tree was made in the late 1800's. It is made of oak. There is a hidden storage compartment under the seat which can be accessed through a door in the seat. Bench only.
