The overall size is 36 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 29 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 17 inches deep, 18 inches high to the seat, 28 inches high to the arms and the overall height is 84 inches. Antique 1890's Victorian Hall Seat/Tree w/Mirror Massive! Hand Carved Oak Fancy!
Congratulations! You are bidding on a magnificent antique Victorian 1890's Hall seat/tree with bevelled mirror. This one-of-a-kind hall seat is made of solid oak with quarter sawn arms that end in hand carved lions' heads. It has claw feet and decorative carvings on the curved skirt and mirror surround. It has four decorative metal brackets for hanging hats around the mirror. It also has a deep storage seat. Quite frankly. It has the look and feel of a throne! It has been restored with an oak stain and satin polyeurothane finish in order to stand up to the rigors of daily use. It does have one area where the wood panels have separated slightly in the middle of the back of the seat(see pics) but it in no way takes away from the overall look of the piece. Antique Hall Seat And Potty Tiger Oak Hand Carved
Antique tiger oak hall seat and potty. Fine decoratice carvinf all over. The measurements are 27" high. 25" wide, and 19" deep. It weighs 35 lbs. The seat has two arms and a lift up lid that is held in place by two knobs of wood, one on each side of the arms. Inside the seat is a lid to lift up to remove the original enamel potty. This can be placed in a hallway under a mirror, in a bedroom at the end of the bed or most any room. You can place a cushion on top of the lid. It has carvings on the front and sides. This auction is for a antique circa 1880. Its made of solid oak. There are 6 double cast iron hooks. Behind the top 2 there are japaned metal plates. Storage for hats& gloves under the seat. Umberella stand with a brass drip pan. This hall tree has some wonderful carving on it there are spade designs, round carved balls at the top and a rectangular carving in the middle. And boasts a pretty diamond shaped beveled glass mirror, which is original and in very good condition. It has four very fancy antique brass butterfly shaped hangers. The center panel below the mirror is pierce-carved in a lyre shape. The crest has fancy applied carving which echos the pretty"leaf and scroll" design hangers. The hall seat is solid wide and heavy. Antique 1900's Ball Stick Arts & Crafts Solid Oak Hall Tree Coat Rack Seat WOW!!
Up or auction is an INCREDIBLE antique late 1890's-1920's Arts& Crafts Ball& Stick solid oak hall tree. This is a wonderful example of ball and stick design. There are 5! beveled glass mirrors and wonderful carvings to go with the top. Middle and lower ball& stick galleries. So much work went into this. There is a hammered brass umbrella stand with barley twist bars to hold the tops. There are WONDERFUL Eastlake style coat hangers all present and matching. The are mounted to turned wood disks that float with sticks inside a wood frame. There is a real show piece hand carved oak detail of raised rectangles at the main center that is just incredible to think it was hand carved. Two matching sun ray designs are above and below the mirror. Lastly there is a wonderful little drawer below the seat with telling joinery that dates ... morethis to the machine age. The corner joints are routered pins and holes in half round circles(Anyone who knows the name of this joinery I would love to know) This piece measures 83" tall x 29" wide x 16" deep. It is not a huge piece. In fact I believe the top crown to have been added to give height to this piece. I only have a very slight color change to go by and VERY WELL may be wrong but perhaps the house this was going into needed a little more height. There are little flame points at the top and ball and stick with the square posts matching perfectly so it is an old addition if at all. You can see how it would look with out it as this comes right out of its four mount holes. This is a piece to see in person. I would never hold you to an auction for a piece of furniture that you only saw pictures of. Feel free to bid and if this piece isn't as incredible to you and I think it is. Monumental Hall Tree A Large piece of Lodge Furniture. This piece measures 8 ft. 1/2 inch tall and is 6 ft. 10 1/2 in. wide by 27 in. deep. It was constructed in a way that the right portion can be detached from the body in order to facilitate moving of the piece through doorways and passages. This piece was built around 1900 in the Mission or Arts& Crafts style of the era and was intended as a ceremonial piece for a Fraternal Lodge. It was later modified into a Hall Tree with 3 hinged seat lids for storage. Construction: Constructed of solid hardwood(species unknown) and veneered wood, stained a dark mahogany hue. All original leather had been professionally replaced with new beautiful split cowhide upholstery leather.The backside of the upholstered headrest on all three seats had been replaced with a thin plywood backing.
