Antique 19th Century Walnut One Drawer Candle Stand Work Table
Here is an antique. Walnut, one-drawer, candle stand or night table. It is quite petite, measuring about 26&1/2" high, 17" wide, and 16&3/4" deep. There have been changes to the table, since it was made. If you look closely, at the photos, you will see that things are not where they originally were. The top may or may not be a replacement. There is some wear to the top. The bottom of the drawer is a replacement. One of the sides has been turned upside down. Regardless of the changes, this is a very nice and usable table. THIS IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL. VERY RARE AND DELICATE ANTIQUE PLANT/ FERN/CANDLE STAND. THE PIECE LOOKS TO HAVE SOME ELEMENTS OF BLACK FOREST CARVING, EASTLAKE AND WONDERFUL TURNING. THIS IS VERY DARK, HARD WOOD. COULD BE WALNUT OR MAHOGANY. THE LEGS HAVE BEEN REINFORCED WITH VINTAGE BRASS SLOTTED SCREWS. TOP OF THE TABLE IS 12" DIAMETER. THE HEIGHT OF THE TABLE IS 31.25" THE TOP ALSO TURNS. THE CARVED DEER HEADS ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL WITH CARVED DETAIL AND HORN RACKS. THEY ARE 6" FROM POINT TO POINT AND ARE MOUNTED ON A SHIELD. Antique 1800"s- Gothic Eastlake Heavily Carved Plant/ Candle/ Lamp Pedestal Stand- Stand Measures a tall 38"1/2 Inches. I am not positive what wood this stand is made of. Looks like a mahogany to me but i am no authority on antique woods. Stand itself is in gorgeous condition, it sits flat and level and looks to stand perfectly straight, it does not wobble around and none of the joints creek though i think the only joints there are is the top plate and maybe the bottom tri pod. its a very dark mahogany in color, not to far from an ebony in color. the carving on this piece is fabulous, the is no damage, cracks or chips what so ever, maybe just the most trivial of tiny dings here and there but nothing that is noticeable. you would have to be way up close to see any blemishes and honestly there really arent any. stand has its original ... morebottom pegged feet aswell which you often dont see on pieces this old. top to bottom this stand is gorgeous and completely original, doesnt look to have ever been refinished though there is no reason for it anyways. shipping quote i have for this is just a guess,if it ends up costing more to ship i will cover the cost,if its any cheaper i will refund you the difference.
