Very Rare 18th century Chinese Export Sugar Bowl w/ FooDog finial & Am Eagle
This is an extraordinary Chinese Export Sugar Bowl dating from the late 18th century commemorating America's entry into the China Trade. The multi colored swag border on the bowl is intact as are the handles. Unfortunately over the years the American Eagle and monogram have been reduced to a shadow which is still clear and readable like Chinese shadow blue ceramics. The Foo Dog or Lucky Lion finial is also unusual. In this case the head of the Foo Dog has been broken off and the gilt on the top is worn. The base has a firing flaw and a small 1/2" tight hairline crack along the rim. Other than that. The handles are original and unblemished and piece is without chips.the piece measures about 5 inches tall with a diameter of 4 inches over all about 6 inches. Given the rare nature of the motif and finial this piece is well worth the ... moreeffort of bringing it back to its former appearance. As is it displays nicely on a shelf or table. Three pieces with this rare eagle motif were offered as part of the October 19. 2000 Sotheby's sale of the well known Mildred and Rafi MOTTAHEDEH collection This motif seems to have been used during a very brief window in the American China trade appearing as early as 1795 and being abandoned by the early 1800's. Catalog entries#334 and#335 bears the closest resemblance to this sugar bowl incorporating both an American eagle with sunburst and enclosing a cypher. While the Mottahedeh examples still retained this motif in full form, both pieces they appeared on bore more severe damage with repairs and hairlines than the current example and were exhibited at major American museums. Both pieces also featured the more conventional fruit-form finial rather than the more rare Foo Dog motif. Pre sale estimates of both pieces were $1,00-$1500 a piece. Here is a very fine set of English Soft Paste China. Circa 1815-1820, Cupid in the Rose Garden, or"Love among the Roses. 10 cups(3-3/4" wide at rim. 2-1/2" high) and 12 6" saucers. 2 8" plates. Sugar. Creamer and teapot. Large waste bowl. This set is in overall good condition. With some issues: One cup has a hairline. One cup has a small flake on rim. One cup has a piece of the handle broken. The piece broken off is not the entire piece but could be made repairable. Teapot has its tip of spout broken off. Broken piece is not the entire piece. But almost. The lid to teapot is in two parts. One plate has hairlines visible from the back side. Also(not shown) the liner of the bottom of the lid for the sugar bowl has a chip. I am selling an old chocolate brown tea pot. But the cover is missing. It looks very old. I bought it at an antique shop in San Diego about 35 years ago. There are no marking that can be read, but my research tells me it was made in England and probably dates back to 1890 to 1920. An interesting piece.

This listing is for a very rare Royal Winton Grimwades'Tiger Lily' Teapot in mottled light green colour. Circa 1940's. The teapot is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Both the handle and pouring spout are undamaged. There is a fitted lid with inner grooved seat that is undamaged. The colours and glazing are vibrant. There is a gilded flared rim on the teapot base and on the outer lip of the teapot lid- both show no signs of rub or wear. There are only two very faint small crazing lines on the outside base- very uncommon for pottery of this vintage to be so free of crazing. The inside of the teapot is ... moreclean and unmarked. The base stamp shows the Royal Winton Grimwades mark with Made in England, all marked in grey. The lid has Pat No 301262 marked on the side of the inner lid seat. Striking Gaudy Welsh octagonal teapot features a hand painted design in Imari floral patterns. Brightly decorated in cobalt blue and rust on white background, highlighted with gold luster accents. Rust color bulbous grapes leaves decorate the lower half of the pot. Circa 1890-1910. The teapot measures 10" from handle to spout, 7" high with the lid. As with any of the early Gaudy Welsh pieces this jug carries no markers mark. There is a printed Made in England and 1065F in hand writing gold on the bottom of the trivet and in orange on the bottom of the teapot. The teapot and the trivet are in good antique condition with some wear on the gold detail. One chip on the spout(please refer to the pictures) and some minimal crazing. As expected with the age. Dipped in brown mocha slip with reserves left at the rims and three heart shape cartouches around the sides. The cartouches are hand painted with underglaze blue flower sprays and the shoulder rim and rim to the lid are painted with a cross hatched border. In excellent condition. The cover is a slide cover which fits in perfectly, it slides out very easily and I would keep it taped to the teapot to avoid an accident. The teapot itself in excellent condition. The lid has one small chip on the side and on the bottom you can see three deep cracks which may have been reglued together. The lid looks perfect from above on the teapot. It is about 9 inches from the end of the spout to the end of the handle. The bottom measures 4 inches across. I have Found this mark on the bottom at 2 different resources And they both say this August Rappsilber was made between 1880 and 1886. It is in EXCELLENT condition except for a small amount of gold trim loss. This looks unused! The flowers and the gold trim are beautiful. Very elegant! Any questions, please ask.

Lustreware Vintage Large Silver Teapot
An elegant antique silver lustreware teapot that will show well in any collection. It has no marks on the piece. But it is probably English because of the design and execution. Lustrewear was considered"poor man's silver" because of the color and sheen. You can see in some of the pictures that it shows some darkening where the oil from hands that used it to pour affected the silver. The glaze shows darker as if it had some discoloration. I don't know if it can be polished off. The teapot is a large one, almost 8 inches tall by 10 inches from spout to the end of the handle. It has no cracks or chips, the inside of the teapot lid has some glaze that settled in the bottom of the inside edge so it is not as crisp on the inner surface. Antique 19th Century FRENCH OLD PARIS PORCELAIN Tea Pot/ Hand-Painted/ Gold Trim
Elegant and graceful tea pot in the exquisite French Old Paris porcelain design. Excellent condition. Delicate hand painted pink roses and dainty bluebells adorn this little tea pot. Graceful gilded vines surround the ruffled opening and then descend onto the body of the tea pot. The same gilded vines wind around the tea pot lid which has a delicate little handle resembling the sepal of a flower. Tiny strainer holes inside the body of the tea pot that open to the spout. There is no maker's mark on this little work of art. Which is not untypical of this particular porcelain. 7-1/2 inches high to the top of the lid handle. 5-1/2 inches high to top of the tea pot. 7-inches wide(handle to spout) 4-1/2 inch diameter at the base.

This is old and has been singularly owned by our family. It has been passed down from my husband's great great grandmother. It has a richly iridescent brown glaze. I don't much info other than what you can see and what is in the main headline, A small dark brown creamer pot with sterling silver overlay. The bottom is stamped England, and if i'm not mistaken, anything that does not say made in, is pre 1920 and the fella who sold it to me assured me it's late 19th c. or late 1800s. Childrens Antique German Teaset
Beautiful Made in Circus Germany Child's Teaset with pink trim. Includes seven cups and saucers. One teapot, two sugars, two creamers, and three plates. This set is marked Leuchtenburg Germany and was manufactured in the early 1900's. It shows various pictures of circus activities such as a pig jumping through a hoop, a gentleman giving a lady a flower to get on a horse, a dog balancing on a ball, a clown sitting on a mule, a clown having a dog do a trick and other scenes.
