I know very little about this cocoa set. Other than what my Mom has told me. It belonged to my Grandparents and I'm pretty sure they brought it back from Japan in the late 40's early 50"s when my Grandfather was stationed over there. I know it's at least 50 years old, and probably older than that. The cups are really thin(like paper) but have no chips or cracks. Amazing for the age! Actually none of the pieces are chipped or cracked. The cups have a stamp on the bottom that states. Made in Japan" The Cocoa Pot states"hand painted" on the bottom. It is a fully matched set. The dimensions are as follows: Teapot/Cocoa Pot = 9"H x 6 1/2"w measured from spout to handle; if measuring the width at the bottom the width is 5 1/2" Cup = 2 3/4" H x 2 1/4"w(at bottom) or 2 1/2"w at top Plate ... more= 5 1/4" Good luck. English Gold Cocoa Pot & Teapot, Cups & Saucers, circa 1910
From Stoke-On-Trent in England. This antique gold covered Cocoa Pot, Teapot, three Cups and Saucers, Creamer and Milk are a little over 100 years old. They are gold on the outside and brown on the inside. Each is marked with the hallmark of the manufacturer, Gibson& Sons. The hallmark is described as consisting of a'glowing crown over a ribbon with the letters G& S' and below this they are marked' Made in England' see photos) This hallmark was used between the years 1909 and 1912. The capacities of the pieces are; cups = 3 oz each; cocoa pot = 16 oz(2 cups) teapot = 8 oz(1 cup) creamer = 3 oz; milk = 5 oz.
