Made of solid cast iron in a natural browned shade. Lovely detail. The condition is very good and sturdy, however it's missing it's glass and backing. This sale is for the frame only. On the top of the back, there is some surface rust. On the top of the front, there is what might be the beginning of it(oxidation darkening) but this really doesn't detract from the overall great looks of this piece because it coordinates with the natural color of the frame anyway. Antique Art Nouveau Silver Overlay teapot - dogwood flower and monogram
Lovely Art Nouveau teapot-treacle brown glaze teapot with swirly silver overlay with hand engraved details. Front of teapot has a monogram and the back has a dogwood flower. Bottom of the teapot is covered in silver so the mark is not visible. Teapots of this style were popular in the early 20th century-1890-1910. No chips or cracks. The lid fits perfectly but does not have a tab even though the teapot has a spot for a tab(see photos) so I can't be sure if it is original-please judge for yourself. Rare Roseville Ceramic Design Tea Set Arts & Crafts Antique Pottery Art Nouveau
Here is a very rare and hard-to-find Roseville Ceramic Design Tea Set. According to Huxford's Second Collector's Encyclopedia of Roseville Pottery(see page 50. Row 2) this is a Persian-Type. Pre 1916, tea set. The tea pot and creamer are in excellent condition. However. The sugar pot has a glaze flake on the left handle(left as seen in the first pic of the sugar pot by itself) And on the right handle. It has a glaze flake on each side as well as a stress line midway down the handle(see pics) Please note: All the raised enamel blue"bumps" in the flowers are present and in good condition. DESCRIPTION These are three very beautiful. Old and very unique ART NOUVEAU PRUSSIA PORCELAIN FLOWERS SHAPE c. 1900 tea pot, creamer and sugar bowl. The set has marvelous flower shape with gold ornaments in fantastic quality. The bottom is unmarked. The tea pot measures 7 1/2" tall, 7" long and 4 1/2" wide(good condition) The sugar bowl measures 5 3/4" tall, 5 3/4" long and 4" wide(two chips inside bowl and small hair line on bottom) The creamer measures 4 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" wide(good condition) The PRUSSIA set has a very elegant, exotic and exquisite feel to them. 10 Pc Antique Art Nouveau Hexagonal Chocolate/Coffee Set, Heavy Gold Gilding
This lovely porcelain chocolate set features heavy gilding on gently undulating raised blooms(I think they are"snowflakes" a flower native to central and southern Europe) And a transfer-ware floral in pinks and yellows. This stunning set includes the chocolate/coffee pot w/ lid, 4 cups and 4 saucers. The pot is hexagonal and quite linear in shape. A different transfer pattern appears on the back of the pot. The cups have a delicate, scalloped shape. The saucers repeat the raised, gilded snowflakes. The porcelain is so thin and translucent on all of the pieces. There are no hallmarks on any of the pieces but the Art Nouveau style suggests a date of the early 1900s. While I can't say where the set was made. I'm inclined to believe it is from Germany or Austria. There are condition issues: 3 of the cups have 1-2 tiny fleabites ... morearound the rims. 1 cup has a larger chip& hairline. The pitcher has a small chip and hairline on the top opening and the lid has a small chip. The saucers have no damage. There are varying amounts of wear to the heavy gilding. Although there are multiple defects, each are quite small and as you can see from the photos, the set displays very well and is still completely functional. The interiors of all are very clean and free of stains. The pot is 9-½" tall and holds 48 oz. The cups hold 6 oz. Will be carefully packed and fully insured against damage or loss. Marked only with a number to the base of the creamer. Quatrefoil in shape, they embrace the gentle rolling shapes beloved of the Art Nouveau era. White, very fine porcelain, with a lilac edging, pink flowers and gilding. I would age these to around 1890/1900. They show no signs of being used and all the signs of being captured in a cabinet. The sugar bowl has tab handles and measures 50mm high, 115mm across the top and 55mm across the base. The creamer, with a very delicate handle and full lipped spout, measures 50mm to rim, 115mm spout to back f handle and 100mm across. No damage or wear at all. Local pick up. Shown is an absolutely stunning 3 PC. LIMOGES TEA SET in snow white porcelain with hand painted gilt trim. This set speaks eloquently of the Art Nouveau period in France. The hand painted design could be initials(personalization for this quality would not be surprising) But I tend to believe that it could be Art Nouveau work as well. You will have to be the judge. It is dainty(notice the spout) uniquely designed(note the indented corners) and in PERFECT CONDITION! Except for the lid, which appears to have been broken and glued back together, but is barely noticeable from the outside, however, there is a piece missing on the inside of the lid. The pot itself is in very good condition, without any chips or cracks, however, it does have crazing on the base and interior. The moriage and beading are in very good condition with very minimal loss and two of the flowers have very slight scrapes to the paint, barely noticeable. The work and detail on this chocolate pot is absolutely stunning and the pictures just do not do it justice. I have taken many photos from different angles to show the condition of this wonderful collectible piece. The Izadora Exhibition is offering a wonderful rose adorned collection of Antique Floral limoges pieces from Pouyat(JPL/JP) Ahrenfeld, Haviland& Straus that date before WWI or before 1910. This listing is for a(1) vanity/serving tray described below: Pouyat rose- gold gilt tray- pat Jan 23. 1906 JP/L with green/pink wreath and numbered(can't make out number clearly) The porcelain and gold gilt on the tray is mint. The bottom is unfinished as you see on earlier pieces with signs of use that are natural with an item over 100 years old. There is one tiny spot on the rim that has no gold- this could be a tiny flake or just a tiny area where there is no gold. When I collected these pieces I purchased the tray separately and married to the teapot set. They are beautiful together or you can use this piece separately on a vanity or sideboard. ... moreMeasures 12" x 9.25" at the widest point. We believe this piece to be a Victorian tea trivet decorated in the art nouveau style. It measures 6 ¼” and is made of porcelain. We’re not experts; however. We assume such trivets were to hold a tea cup& saucer in use or perhaps a small tea pot. The main goal being to protect the wood furniture with a decorative object. As such, it is still a useful article today. There is no maker’s mark on the trivet. Our feeling is that it is probably Austrian; however, it could also have been made in Germany or America. The trivet has a mold relief decorated rim which is glazed in lavender and gilded in gold. The center of the item is colored almost a burgundy brown and features white flowers with yellow and green centers. The trivet is in good original condition exhibiting normal age and use wear for an object perhaps 120 years old. There is ... morea petty chip to the bottom underside of the footrail but it is nothing and is not debilitating in any way. The trivet otherwise has no chips. Cracks or repairs. Here are six(6) antique lunch/tea plates signed RW(Rudolf Wachter) which are in excellent antique condition. They are designed in three sections. One to hold a cup(which I do not have) and two others for small treats, cookies, hors d'oerves, etc. Years ago I owned a small French restaurant and we used these plates to serve our house dessert, using flowered antique cups to serve the coffee…they were always a wonderful conversation piece, as well as being very functional. They were always carefully washed by hand to protect their lustre finish. Measure 10" x 8"there is a narrow white band around the cup space. Edged with a fine black line.
