Rare Miniature Pearlware Blue Broseley Willow Teapot Staffordshire 1820 signed
Rare Blue Staffordshire Miniature Teapot BROSELEY WILLOW possibly John Rogers ~ Staffordshire England c. 1820 from Joseph Jackson Miniature Teapot Collection This is a fantastic London shaped miniature teapot c 1820 originally part of a complete tea set and fine antique dollhouse accessory. The tiny teapot stands 3 1/4" high and measures 5 1/2” long with a square knop. Transfer printed in light blue with pearlware glaze. The teapot is decorated in one of the finest early Chinoiserie Blue Willow type pattern called Broseley Willow. The standard features of the Willow pattern are all present- pagoda, lake, bridge, fence, people- and slightly rearranged from traditional. There is a man inside the pagoda as well as 2 others on the bridge. The central image wraps around the entire perimeter with a complementary border trim. The teapot is ... moresigned with a large dramatic painted R. The previous owner attributed it to John Rogers c 1820. If not Rogers. The maker would have been Minton, who commonly used this blank during the same period, or another early 19th century pottery manufactory in the Staffordshire region of England who had a painter with a flair for the dramatic. The teapot was long time part of the Joseph Jackson Teapot Collection. The 400 piece collection was sold at auction in UK in 2001. One teapot at a time, to encourage young collectors who were able to buy them at affordable prices. The teapot is in very good condition especially considering it age and use by generations of young children with no chips or cracks. The lid appears to have been overfired. And based on the feel, it may have been professionally restored. Light wear and overall glaze crazing. And typical firing imperfections consistent with age. These fine early Willow childrens or dolls dishes are like pocket sized works of art. A lovely example, perfect and affordable for a young collector of early wares. Rare Miniature Pearlware Blue Broseley Willow Milk Jug Staffordshire Toy 1820
Rare Blue Staffordshire Pearlware Miniature Creamer Milk Jug BROSELEY WILLOW possibly Minton Staffordshire England c. 1820 This is a fantastic London shaped miniature cream pitcher or milk jug c 1820 originally part of a complete tea set and fine antique dollhouse accessory. The tiny pitcher stands 2" high and measures 3 1/2” long with a London shaped handle. Transfer printed in light blue with pearlware glaze. The teapot is decorated in one of the finer early Chinoiserie Blue Willow type pattern called Broseley Willow. The standard features of the Willow pattern are all present- pagoda, lake, bridge, fence, people- and slightly rearranged from traditional. There is a man inside the pagoda as well as 2 others on the bridge. The central image wraps around the entire perimeter with a complementary fish scale border trim. The creamer is ... moreunmarked. The maker was likely Minton. Who commonly used this blank during the same period, or another early 19th century pottery manufactory in the Staffordshire region of England. The creamer is in very good condition especially considering it age and use by generations of young children with no chips or cracks or restorations. Wear to the edge and an overall light patina from age. The body of the jug feel overfired. A typical firing imperfection consistent with age. These fine early Willow childrens or dolls dishes are like pocket sized works of art. A lovely example, perfect and affordable for a young collector of early wares. RARE STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE SOFT PASTE TEAPOT AND SUGAR BOWL, BEAUTIFUL!
I AM NO EXPERT AT ANTIQUE POTTERY. AND IF ANYONE VIEWING THESE CAN CORRECT ANY ERRORS IN MY LISTING, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.AS WELL AS, IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME ADDED INFORMATION. THESE WERE PURCHASED BY MY DAD AROUND THE 1970'S IN LANCASTER CO. PA. THEY ARE IN GREAT CONDITION, CONSIDERING THAT I WOULD PLACE THEM AROUND 1825. PLEASE EXAMINE THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY, AS THEY ARE THE MAIN PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. FIRST. THE TEAPOT. AS YOU CAN SEE, IT HAS HEAVY OVERALL CRAZING, AND THE PEARLWARE GLAZE IS VERY OBVIOUS. THE FINIAL ON THE LID HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THERE ARE 2 VERY SMALL SHIPS TO THE INSIDE OF THE RIM OF THE BODY OF THE TEAPOT. THERE ARE 2 VERY MINOR ROUGH SPOTS ON THE BASE. THE SPOUT HAS SOME FLEA BITES TO THE UPPER LIP, THAT ARE HARDLY WORTH MENTIONING. YOU WILL SEE SOME LOSS OF PAINT ON BOTH SIDES. ANY OTHER MARKS ARE FROM THE MANUFACTURING ... morePROCESS, I BELIEVE. YOU CAN MAKE OUT THE NUMBER"103" AND THE NUMBER"12" ON THE BOTTOM. IT IS A LARGE PIECE, MEASURING APPROXIMATELY 11" WIDE BY 7 1/2" TALL. THE SUGAR BOWL HAS CRAZING. BUT IT'S NOT AS SEVERE AS ON THE TEAPOT. NOTE IN PHOTOS THAT THE LID HAS HAD A REPAIR ON THE EDGE, AND SOME ROUGHNESS ON THE INNER LIP. THE BODY HAS SOME LOSS OF PAINT, AND THE INSIDE RIM HAS SOME VERY MINOR CHIPPING. THERE IS A ROUGH SPOT ABOUT 2" LONG ON WHAT I GUESS YOU WOULD CALL THE LOWER COLLAR. THE HANDLES EACH HAVE SOME VERY MINOR ROUGH SPOTS. ANY OTHER FLAWS WOULD BE IN MANUFACTURING. THE BOTTOM IS ALSO MARKED WITH THE NUMBER"103" AND HAS AN IMPRESSED LETTER"M" IT MEASURES ABOUT 7" TALL AND 7 1/2" WIDE. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MATCHING PIECES FOR DECADES. NOW. I'M AT A POINT IN MY LIFE THAT I AM DOWN SIZING, AND DO NOT DO MUCH COLLECTING. AS ALWAYS. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING! THAT WAY, WE WILL BOTH BE HAPPY. I DO MY VERY BEST TO DESCRI BE ALL OF MY LISTINGS AS ACCURATELY AS I POSSIBLY CAN. TERMS RETURNS WILL BE ACCPETED IF THE ITEM IS NOT AS DESCRIBED. I ACCEPT PAYPAL ONLY. AND PAYMENT IS EXPECTED W

Large bulbous shaped coffee pot with dome top cover, applied c scroll handle and long spout all printed in a dark blue transferware pattern of large flowers and fruit inside leafy shaped cartouches. The handle has a textured surface and printed with tiny white flowers. I think the nicest detail is the the printing of two plums? at the base of the spout(pictured. This is in beautiful display condition. It has several antique pottery issues but none of them really detract from its presence on a table or sideboard. The spout has a few tiny chips at the very edges. There is a chip out of the shoulder rim about 3/8" ... morepictured. The other side of the rim has a crack going down the inside about 4" that is only visible on the outside on the lip of the rim. The lid has several small chips around the outside of the base and one at the rim. This is barely seen when in place and the smaller ones are hidden inside the pot. FABULOUS STAFFORDSHIRE SOFT PASTE PEARLWARE TEAPOT, ADAMS ROSE VARIANT, NICE!
THE PHOTOS ARE THE MAIN PART OF THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS LOVELY TEAPOT. SO PLEASE USE THE ZOOM FEATURE AND EXAMINE THEM CAREFULLY. I'M NO EXPERT, I GOT THIS FROM MY FATHER ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO. HE BOUGHT IT IN THE 1970'S IN AN ANTIQUE STORE IN NEW MARKET, MD. FOR ITS AGE. WHICH I THINK IS AROUND 1825, IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION. OTHER THAN THE WONDERFUL DESIGN OF THE BODY, THE CONDITION SHOWS ALMOST NO LOSS OF PAINT. THERE ARE SOME MINOR FLEA BITES AND ROUGH SPOTS. THE FINIAL IS INTACT. AS IS THE HANDLE. THE SPOUT SHOWS A TINY CHIP, AND IN CLOSELY EXAMINING IT, I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE TIP OF THE SPOUT HAS HAD REPAIR. IF SO, IT WAS DONE LONG AGO, AND A VERY GOOD JOB. I CAN MOSTLY FEEL A DIFFERENCE IN TEXTURE WHEN I RUN MY FINGER OVER THE TOP SIDES OF THE SPOUT. THERE IS OVERALL CRAZING. ON THE FIRST PHOTO. AND I THINK ON THE 10TH, ... moreYOU CAN SEE SOME DISCOLORATION AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN EXTREMELY SLIGHT"X" HAIRLINE, AND IT ISN'T A CRACK THAT GOES THROUGH TO THE INSIDE. IT'S ON THE LOWER FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE TEAPOT. THERE ARE 2 MAKER'S MARKS ON THE BOTTOM. BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY STAND FOR. THERE IS A VERY CRUDELY IMPRESSED"C" AND NEAR IT, WHAT APPEARS TO BE ANOTHER IMPRESSED BLOCK STYLE"C" I HOPE THAT I HAVE CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED THIS AS BEING AN ADAMS TYPE VARIENT; IT HAS THE S AME TYPE OF DECORATION AS I HAVE SEEN IN MANY ADAMS ROSE PIECES. IT MOST DEFINITELY SHOWS THE PEARLWARE GLAZE. ANY VIEWERS WHO CAN TELL MORE ABOUT THIS PIECE. PERSONS WHO HAVE EXPERTISE, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ITS CONDITION. PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO ASK. MEASUREMENTS: ABOUT 7 1/2" TALL. TO TOP OF FINIAL OVERALL LENGTH. ABOUT 11 1/2" ALMOST 6" WIDE. AT WIDEST POINT. AS ALWAYS. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, SO YOU WILL BE A HAPPY BUYER! PAYMENT IN THE FORM OF PAYPAL IS EXPECTED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF END OF AUCTION. SHIPPING IS TO THE CONTINENTAL 48 USA STATES ONLY.
