Antique Redware Ceramic Teapot With Lid Circa 1940's
Beautiful and rare. This antique teapot measures 4+ inches at the base, 7 inches from spout to outer handle and 5 inches in height with he handled lid on. This gorgeous dark brown and lacquered square teapot features gilded hand painted details in red, blue, green and white dot pattern colors. Round redware teapots are commonly found but square ones are quite rare. There are no chips, stains, knicks, scratches or discoloration, however some of the gold trim details have worn with age but this is minimal and does not detract from the attractiveness of the piece. There is also some dulling of the lacquer near the handle and spout especially due to handling and use where the lacquer has lost its luster, but the paint remains unfaded. The detachable lid has a cured out tongue at the lip to keep it secure during pouring and has a steam vent to ... morelet hot air and water out. The delicate impression that this unmarked piece makes is amazing and will be a wonderful conversation piece in your home. Posted with

It has a rather fantastic design of figures in a classical landscape with a large urn called"Canova" This multi-motif pattern is by Thomas Mayer(1826- 1838) of Longport and Stoke-on-Trent. There are many different variations of Canova. But they all show a landscape with a large urn in the foreground. The teapot measures 7 inches tall by 11 inches long from spout to handle. ANTIQUE NORITAKE PORCELAIN CREAM TEAPOT HANDPAINTED CIRCA 1911-1920 - JAPAN
This is a very pretty and unusual Noritake teapot from an estate sale with the trademark Noritake used from 1911 to 1920. Unfortunately. After doing a lot of research, I cannot find the name of the pattern. It is in extremely good condition for a piece of this age. The teapot has a cream background with a multi-color handpainted scene of a peacock among flowers. As a general rule. The earliest dinnerware was decorated with a liberal application of gol d which these Noritake pieces demonstrate. This teapot is approximately 15" in circumference. Approximately 4½" in height(exclusive of the lid) The handle is approximately 3" in length; the spout is also approximately 3" in length. The base of the teapot is approximately 3½" in diameter. This teapot has gold accents on the handle. The spout, the top rim. The ... moretop of the teapot has two stripes: the first one is yellow with a black design, the second one is green. On the front of the teapot there is a very pretty hand painted peacock in colors of medium blue. Dark blue, green and coral. The peacock is perched on a branch. The peacock and flowers are extremely detailed which you can see in the photos. The flowers are dark and light blue. Yellow, white, pink, pink and coral. This pattern amazingly has no damage. On the base of the teapot are the Noritake name and the initial“M” with a wreath around it. The“M” would indicate that it was made during the time the company was operating under“Morimura Bros. and later went by the names Nippon and Noritake. Under the wreath are the words“hand painted” and under that it indicates that it was“Made in Japan” One source indicates that this trademark would have been used during the time period of 1911-1920. However, another source indicates that it could have been made as late as 1914-1940. Even using the 1940 date, these Noritake pieces would be close to 75 years old. I would consider this Noritake teapot to be in excellent pre-owned condition. There are no cracks. Crazing, pitting or repairs of a

Teapot Set, Color gold with medallion, Unmarked, paper lable reads circa 1881
Size. Teapot 7.5" to top of knob, creamer 3.75" high to top of spout, sugar 3.75" to top of knob, three cups 2.5" diameter, 2.25" high, three saucers 4.25" diameter. Color gold and silver on the inside the medallion is on one side only. Here we have an unusual tea set I have not been able to nail down the maker. When I found it had the paper lable on the bottom of the tea pot. I can not say for sure that the set is from 1881 but the chances are good. The tea pot has lost a little of the finish at the tip of the spout and a tiny little chip of indentation, also on the back of the tea pot there is a rub mark(see pictures) The saucers have some ware not to bad. Over all the set is very decorative. Please search pop471 for more stuff.
