It was used as a decorative piece. It is in perfect condition with no signs chips and with no color loss. It measures just over 7 inches tall. Width is about 6 inches. Cups and saucers and I am including free the 4 tea caddy little plates even though they each have chips, but they were just so cute that I thought whomever wins the set might like to have them too. This is one of the most PRECIOUS HAND PAINTED porcelain or ceramic teapot and cups and saucer sets that I have seen! The DETAIL is GREAT! The teapot has large white and pink flower petals around it and on top of the handle and the lid knob both are leaves. On the base of the teapot it notes"1992. The Bombay Co. Inc. There are 4 cups and saucers that match GREAT! Each cup has a flower on both sides and the saucers are the same flower. They are in yellow. Blue, lavender, and a peach/pink(although the photos of the peach/pink came out with too much peach! I don't know if these were a set with the teapot as ... morethe cups, saucers and tea caddy dishes are all marked"Heart and Home Designs" and have a tag noting: Made in Mexico. Whether they are an actual set or not they match PERFECTLY! The teapot. Cups and saucers are in excellent condition. The 4 tea caddy plates have small chips in the rims. The teapot measures 6 3/4” tall and about 8 1/4" from spout to handle. It is about 5 1/4” deep. The cups alone each measure 3" tall. 4 1/8" handle to rim and 3" deep. They hold 6 oz. The saucers each measure 4 5/8" in diameter. The little tea caddy dishes each measure 2 3/8" in diameter. A Staffordshire Romantic Shaped Teapot. C. 1840. Stylized flower boarder. There is a stabilized crack on the base of the body. There are a number of heat-stress cracks along the rim, two causing hairlines. There is a hairline crack where the spout joins the body and the tip of the spout has been reconstructed. There is a crack on the lid which has not been stabilized. see photos) Normal use. Shows nicely. Approximately 10 inches from spout to handle. Approximately 8 1/2 inches high. Rare vintage MCM ovide shaped sculptural teapot, lidded sugar, creamer, S & P
Offered for your consideration is this fabulous mid-century vintage tea or coffee set with angular ovide shaped pot. Lidded sugar bowl, creamer and salt and pepper shakers. The pattern features sculptural raised flowers and leaves on a caramel brown band across mottled tan background. The pieces are both sharply angled and oval shaped at the same time. There is the same incised mark on all 3 pieces but I can't make it out beyond the fact that the name begins with an"S" and includes"Mfg. Co. any ID help would be much appreciated! Beautiful antique hand-painted teapot in the Gaudy Welsh Imari pattern. The teapot has an octagonal shape. And is painted with cobalt blue against white with orange patterns and gold luster detailing. The teapot measures 8 1/2" wide(from spout to handle tip) by 7" tall. It is in good overall antique condition, but there are repairs to the lid and handle as well as some minor paint loss, as pictured.
