It looks artificially light in some of the pictures. I turned the camera exposure up so you could see the detail it the design, the true color is the dark color in some of the pictures, the correct dark basalt color. SIZE: The teapot is just under 7.25 inches tall. And is approximately 10 inches from handle to spout. CONDITION: There are flakes to the tip of the spout and around the edge of the lid- the pen is pointing to these in the close up pictures. The strainer part on the inside of the pot at the entrance to the spout is damaged. MARKS: There is an impressed"L" on the bottom. A ll photos below can be enlarged by clicking on them. This Davenport Ironstone teapot stands 9" inches high. The registration mark date is January 14 1850. It has a hairline down the side and a hairline two thirds the way around the base. Somebody smeared some kind of glue or cement along the inside where the hairlines are. No other chips cracks or damage. The previous owner was a hoarder of sorts. The teapot still displays very well. I'm unsure whether the teapot is Chinese export ware or from an 18 th century English company like Worcester. Bow, or Chelsea. The teapot is soft-paste porcelain, with normal glaze crazing. The pot is approximately 14 cm(5 1/2” high and 20 cm(8” wide from spout to handle edge. The condition– Chip on the spout tip, minor glaze crazing, tea stains on the rim and the lids rim(see photos) No other chips, cracks, or restoration. Insured shipping will be $14.00 in the US. Offered here without reserve is this ca 1820 English soft paste teapot in the strawberry motif. She measures 11" from handle to spout. Appx 7" high and 4 5/8" wide. There are some age lines to the base- see my 7th picture(not cracks since they do not go thru- see my 9th picture) and a crack at the handle, but the handle has not been repaired or reglued since there is no comparable crack anywhere else. so simply an age hairline(see my last picture) More consequential, there is a chip to the lid- see my 7th picture. Not sure which company made this. But it does have a pattern number 384 in gold on the underside. It looks like it dates circa 1810-20 to me. It displays great some light damage. There is a chip on the upper, inner lip of the spout, a faint 1/2" long straight craze line in the body that you will have a hard time finding, a seam line on the underside, on the base rim and there is a 2&1/2" hairline crack in the lid as well as a chip on the inner flange that sits inside the base. The ... morepot has normal glaze crazing and there is some light discoloration on the interior that is not see on the exterior. The paint and gold are in good condition with only very slight nondistracting wear to the gold. Measures 10&1/2" from spout to handle, 5&1/4" to the top of the finial. The teapot is a soft cream white. With rose pink detailing and colorful painted flower designs. The lid has a flower form finial The pot is in great overall condition. There is some minor flaking around the spout. Nothing excessive or noticeable. There is some loss to the paint of the flower designs on the sides and on the finial. There are a couple of chips to the foot rim, but these are only visible when the pot is turned upside down and inspected. There are no cracks, and no repairs. Damaged Damsel English Regency Softpaste Porcelain Teapot c. 1815-1830 F or auction an English Regency softpaste porcelain teapot. Hand decorated with a ribbon of green near the lid curving along the dozen panels of the body. Just below this green band are clusters of what look like red and green peppers hanging from a vine alternating with a branch with a single five dot flower. Embossed on handle and spout are the everpresent forms of acanthus leaves. The split handle is firmly attached. The base sits solidly on six shaped feet. Similar pots on eBay date from the 1815-1830 dates. Have no idea who the maker might be. This looks chunky but light shines through it in a lovely way. M easurement: from handle to spout measures about 10 inches. To top of the handle measures 7 1/4 inches. About 6 1/4 inches at its widest. C ondition: There is a ... morechip on the inner rim where a lid would sit. There is NO LID. There is some paint loss on the green of the upper border. The pot is overall stained so has been well and often used. There is an odd little split at the base of the spout but the spout is firmly attached. Antique English Worcester porcelain teapot and cover
Rare antique Worcester period porcelain teapot and original cover probably decorated in the atelier of James Giles. C.1770. Heavily potted and decorated with attractive alternating bands of copper red and gilt and large puce/purple flower sprays. The teapot is in near perfect condition with only a very small chip to end of spout. The original cover with replacement metal finial and two chips. An English Porcelain Teapot. C.1830. Unidentified manufacturer. Beautiful green floral and gilt flowers. There is a small chip to the interior edge of lid. As shown in the photos there is a substantial heat crack to the body with 5 staple repairs. These are rare in porcelain today. Most staples have been removed over the past three decade and filled and glazed. No staining from the staples. There is a flea bite on the tip of the spout. Gilt work is in very good, bright condition. This is a very handsome pot. Approximately 10 1/2 inches from spout to handle. Approximately 6 1/2 inches high. All were of English origin. At one point there were over 500 teapots in the collection. As is common with Teapots of this period, many needed to be restored. Some received museum restoration(basic stabilizing) while others received a more complex restoration, including painting, glazing and gilt work. Sydney was a certified, trained professional restorer. She worked on her collection for 38 years before donating them to the Marc-James Museum in 2003. Many of the pots are being sold. space is an issue. I show photos for you from every side and angle. There are different scenes on both sides. They are both men on horseback with dogs scenes. On one side they are running and jumping and on the other side they are still. Around the top of the teapot ... moreis another scene of dead game animals. I see various birds and a rabbit. The lid of the Teapot has a different Transferware design of men and horses and dogs. This teapot is in remarkable condition for being 159 years old. It has no chips or cracks but the top little finial is missing- see photo. The underside of the teapot has an English Registry mark which denotes the following information. That it is made of a ceramic(pottery/porcelain) material. That it was made on March, 12th, 1856 and that it was bundle number 3. Teapot measures approx. 6 inches tall and 7 inches wide from the top of the spot to the end of the handle. I'm not certain who made it. But it looks like Dr. Wall period 1770 or so. The glaze has a strong blue tint where it has pooled. It is Worcester type at least, possibly Liverpool, Pennington or Bristol. The paint is original and clean with only minor exterior wear on the pot. The tip of the spout has an old repair that is mostly cleaned off but still covers a chip to the end of the spout and there ... moreis a 1&3/4" glaze line with some associated discoloration extending down from it. You can't even get your finger nail to catch on it. The edge of the lid has two old fairly large chip repairs and two small repairs on the edge, none of which extends outside the rim area. Otherwise fine. Displays great. Measures 6" tall, 8&1/4" from spout to handle. Insurance is now included in the cost of Shipping. But you won't need it with our Professional Packaging! c. 1800's Antique English Black& White Transferware Tea Pot: a very nice. Very old, small teapot. There is wear on this item, shown clearly in the pictures including crackle, small chips and wear. The piece is very cute and would fit a modern or traditional setting. The piece measures 4" tall with top and 7" long from handle to spout and a little over 3" wide.
