Wood & Son England English Sylvan Tea Set 1891-1907 Old Rare Porcelain China
This is an Antique Porcelain Tea Set Made By Wood& Son. England Between 1891-1907. This set must have been passed down and cared for well. It has very few small chips around the edge of the serving tray and on the bottom of the tea canister, a few usage scratches on the corners of the bottom of the tray and the tea pot lid handle has been broken and repaired but it must have been a nice clean break because I almost didn't notice it. Still, it is amazing to me that something so fragile can survive this long. I dated the item from thepotteries.org web site(in case you want to check it out) Because of it's age, the platter is fairly heavily crazed but the tea canister and pot have only slight crazing. I love the color combination of blue and brown with pink trim. A very nice addition to any collection or possibly, some replacement ... morepieces for an existing set. There is no maker's mark- I have seen very similar patterns by New Hall and Miles Mason. This is a quality set with relief molding on the teapot, sugar, cream jug, and lids, and beautifully detailed handles. The feel and style makes me think this set dates to the very early 1800s. The set consists of 41 pieces. Which are: 1 teapot with lid 1 waste bowl 1 sugar with lid 1 creamer jug 2 handled serving plates 11 plates 12 cups 12 saucers Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The teapot is just over 8.5 inches tall. And is approximately 9.25 inches from handle to spout. The sugar is just over 7 inches tall to the top of the finial. The creamer jug is approximately ... more5.75 inches tall. The waste bowl is approximately 6 inches diameter and just over 3.5 inches tall. The handled serving plates are just over 9.5 inches wide from handle to handle. The plates are just over 7 inches diameter. The saucers are approximately 5.5 inches diameter, and the cups are approximately 2.75 inches tall. CONDITION: Considering its age and the number of pieces the set is in very good condition. Some issues to note: there is some light discoloration here and there. But overall the color is very good and white; 1 of the handled serving plates has 2 faint hairlines from the rim; 2 of the plates have a small flea bite on the rim; 3 cups have hairlines on the rim; 1 cup has a manufacturing separation on the rim and a few have manufacturing flaws on the handles; there is a hairline around the bottom of the teapot; there are a few fleabites inside the rim of the teapot that are completely covered by the lid; there is a crack in the sugar bowl. 18th C Antique Worcester English Porcelain Tea Set Offered for sale is a hard to find late 18th century. Possibly the very early part of the 19th, partial tea set in very good condition. It is unmarked but likely Worcester. The set consists of a Teapot, Sugar, Creamer, 2 shallow Bowls, 1 Waste Bowl, 5 Cups and Saucers and 5 handled Coffee Cups. There are a couple of old Sotheby stickers still attached indicating it was sold there at one time. There is some overall gold wear and some minor stacking glaze wear as you would expect. You can get a good idea of the extent by viewing the photos. One saucer has a rim chip, one cup has a 1" hairline and the waste bowl has a tiny nick as well as a couple of very tight 1" hairlines. The set has some expected glaze fry(sanding) here and there as fired in the kiln, but there are no other damages ... moreand no repair. A very nice looking set that is especially hard to find with so many pieces remaining. The teapot measures 6&1/2" tall, 9&1/2" from spout to handle. This is a full tea service for four that includes 4 cups and saucers. A creamer, sugar bowl and teapot. The serving pieces all have handles and lids with butterflies on them. The set is decorated in orange, blue and green in an imari style with flowers on a stand. The cups are 2 ¼ inches high and 3 7/8 inches across including the handles. Strange Antique 3 Piece English? Tea Set
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This 3 piece porcelain tea set was produced in the 19 th century. It has some impressed numbers and some kind of date cipher. It is the type of marking Minton often used but it does not match any of their ciphers. There is no marking indicating the manufacturer. There is the pot with lid. Cream pitcher and sugar bowl with lid. The pot measures 8 inches from the spout to the handle and is 4 inches high. The porcelain is cream colored and quite heavy. Similar to ironstone. The spout of the pot is in the shape of a dragon. There are creatures on the lid and handle. I have never seen anything like this before. It appears to be very old and is very mysterious and unique. CONDITION: The handle on the pot has either craze lines or cracks. The lid of the sugar bowl has a couple of light craze ... morelines and a couple of tiny nicks on the inner rim. The gilding is worn on all 3 pieces.

Vintage Palissy Cadiz Tea Set! English Mid Century Modern Geometric set!
This striking Palissy tea set is cream colored with a bold geometric pattern of brown. Blue and green. This set has a tall pitcher with 4 cups, 4 saucers and a creamer. All pieces are in very good condition, the only flaw i have been able to find is a hairline crack on the handle of the pitcher where it looks like it was repaired at one time. The pitcher measures 10 inches tall with the lid and is 3 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. Cups are 3 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches in diameter at the mouth. The creamer is 2 1/4 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches across from the spout to handle. Each saucer is 5 inches in diameter. Charles Allerton started his company in Staffordshire England in 1859 but died in 1863. His sons carried on the tradition until they were bought out in 1912. However, the company that bought them operated under the name Allerton's LTD until 1942. Lustre decoration was a specialty of Charles Allerton& Sons. All of the handles on the pieces are completely in tact and the only defects. Other than mentioned above, are in the manufacturing of the pieces themselves. The set was made in the first half of the 1800's. The tea set is decorated with a lovely copper metallic luster. The tea set is done in classic form with nice ribbing on the body and lid. The set includes: Teapot: 10 3/4 inches from handle to spout and 6 1/4 inches tall. 1 Covered Sugar: 7 inches across the handles and 4 1/2 inches tall. 1 Creamer: 5 3/4 inches from handle to spout and 4 1/4 inches tall. The ribbing on the side and lid of the sugar bowl is narrower than the teapot and creamer. And it is possible that the sugar bowl came from a different set than the creamer& teapot. If so, the marriage is a very good one, and even ... morethe copper luster finish matches perfectly. The overall condition is excellent. The teapot. Sugar bowl and creamer all ring nicely when pinged. If there are any cracks we cannot find them. The lid of the teapot has a number of chips to the edge, but it still rings well. We have pointed these out in the last photo. The teapot itself is in great shape, with only a tiny flake to the very top edge and one at the spout. This is visible in the last photo, a little to the left of the 12 o'clock position. It is very clean overall. There are no breaks, no other cracks, no splits, no dents, no other chips and no repairs. For your consideration is a very old English Ironstone tea set from the Staffordshire region dating to the 1850’s or possibly earlier. The decoration is referred to as Gaudy Welsh Imari. A mix of design elements from Wales and Japan with French in the top knops and mold shapes. This set is a seven piece set comprised of a teapot with lid. A sugar with lid, a creamer and two cups and saucers. The teapot measures 4-1/2” in diameter. Stands 4-1/2” tall, is 2-3/4” in diameter at the base and is 7” from tip of spout to end of handle. The sugar bowl measures 3-1/4” in diameter. Stands 3-3/8” tall, is 2-1/4” in diameter at the base and is 4” from end of handle to end of handle. The creamer measures 2-1/4” in diameter. Stands 2-1/2” tall, is 1-5/8” in diameter at the base and is 3-1/4” from tip of spout to end of handle. The saucers measure 4-1/2” ... morein diameter. The tea cups measure 2-3/4” in diameter. Stand 1-1/2” tall, are 1-3/8” in diameter at the base and are 3-3/8” from the end of the teacup to the end of the handle. There is a scroll design back stamp on the bottom of all pieces except for the cups whose bases were too small to accommodate the back stamp. This scroll mark should not be confused with the scroll mark found on some post 1861 Minton pieces with the added words of Amherst Japan. The mark on this set has yet to be manufacturer identified. Inside the scrolls are the hand lettered numbers“664” painted in red which were quality control codes referring to the person who decorated the piece. Additionally some of the pieces have impressed mold numbers. The condition of this set is remarkably brilliant. Considering its age. Pre-1860 or earlier, I would have expected to find numerous chips, cracks, repairs etc. I have examined each piece very closely and do not find any such problems with the exception of a few manufacturing flaws and a very faint ½” long crack to one of the saucers. This crack appears to be from manufacturer’s firing as there is no chip to the rim or other evidence to suggest it was made fro

Creamer and sugar) is marked"England on the bottom of two of the pieces" They may have been made by Robert Sudlow& Sons whose company specialized in making teapots in England around 1900. For sale. A super pretty Cobalt Blue& Sterling silver overlay tea or coffee set with a pot, a creamer& a sugar. The lid has 2 spots where it slips in and then you twist so it does not fall off when you pour and they are both intact and there are no chips on them or around the top! This is in good antique, condition with some minor wear and 2 small chips, one on the bottom of the creamer& one on the bottom of the sugar, as shown, due to age& use. I did not polish the Sterling on this so as not to remove any desired patina. This charming teapot. Trivet, and lidded hot water pitcher(can be used for milk or syrup as well) is an old 1920’s English transferware hand painted with flowers and embellished and trimmed in hand painted gold. The darling hot water has a metal lid with china knob. A scalloped fluted detail surrounds the bottom of the pieces. The pieces are unmarked or signed. Antique S.B. & Son English Porcelain 1853-1887 5 peice Tea Set
I have for this auction a beautiful porcelain tea set consisting of covered tea pot 10 1/2" tall. Covered sugar bowl 8" tall, creamer 5 7/8" tall I see no chips. cracks or hairlines.there is discoloration on one side of the sugar bowl as shown in picture. All 3 pieces are marked with S.B. Son with a circled anchor and an un marked English raised diamond in the center.I just purchased this set at an Estate Sale at a Victorian House.I will be listing more of my finds on ebay. Mark is green crown with laurel leaves surrounding an English shield or crest. The pattern features red chintz like background on white with blue scenes including Asian birds, landscapes and flowers set in rectangular and square panels on a slant. The teapot is 5" tall to rim, 10" length, sugar pot is 4.5" tall by 8" handle to handle, creamer is 4.25" tall. The handles are split, pulled and resemble tree bark or bamboo textures. Some brown spotting in interior of sugar bowl visible when lid is off and same darkened spots on ends of tea spout and again interior only of teapot. Tea spout has old hairline crack running down one side if spout about 4" length. See photo. Whimsical Antique English Tea Pot Set
The wounded warriors of the glorious tea era of England are up for auction. Whimsical and a clay artist's creative talent are displayed in this remarkable 5 piece Tea set. I have yet to find the manufacturer but I suspect Coalport as the way the flowers are hand painted. In fact the whole set is hand painted and surprisingly no gold loss for something this old. Are these musical notes? The number on all pieces is in pale black 7064 with the teapot with 3 dots in a triangle and the rest are a line and 3 dots below. Some date marks might be in the 1850's( There is nary a chip on any one of the pieces but cracks are another matter. Starting with the teapot it has cracks as pictured but doesn't leak and the lid has a crack. The sugar bowl has a crack on the rim. The creamer's handle has been repaired. One saucer has ingeniously ... morebeen repaired with staples. An old English method to restore something of value. The second one is cracked and needs no repair. The good news is that the cups are in great condition which usually goes first. It is all pictured. The teapot is a large size: from spout to handle is 11 inches. 8 1/4 inches in height and the bottom is 4 1/4 by 4 1/4 inches. The cups are 4 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height. The saucers are 8 inches in diameter. The sugar is from handle to handle 7 3/8 inches. Bottom to top 7 inches and the bottom is 3 3/4 inches. The creamer is spout to handle is 5 inches. Bottom to top is 6 1/2 inches, bottom is 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches. This a big sized set. Despite the condition it makes for a fabulous display of English tea history and the remarkable ability of the clay work of a different era. The eye catcher that it is. Would be great for a tea shop owner, a prop for a play or movie, a tea party or one can have a Downton Abbey party. It really is an amazing tea set that is part of an old history of quality time for tea and chat and served with grandeur.
