In a New York collection for over 35 years. The cylindrical stand which supports the teapot was meant to contain a small candle to keep the pot warm. The name veilleuse comes from the French for“nightlight” because the main lithophane cylinder glows when the candle is lit. In the early years. It was used on the bedside table to keep the top teapot warm before retiring. The light remained for a few hours serving as a bedroom nightlight. Antique 19th Century FRENCH OLD PARIS PORCELAIN Tea Pot/ Hand-Painted/ Gold Trim
Elegant and graceful tea pot in the exquisite French Old Paris porcelain design. Excellent condition. Delicate hand painted pink roses and dainty bluebells adorn this little tea pot. Graceful gilded vines surround the ruffled opening and then descend onto the body of the tea pot. The same gilded vines wind around the tea pot lid which has a delicate little handle resembling the sepal of a flower. Tiny strainer holes inside the body of the tea pot that open to the spout. There is no maker's mark on this little work of art. Which is not untypical of this particular porcelain. 7-1/2 inches high to the top of the lid handle. 5-1/2 inches high to top of the tea pot. 7-inches wide(handle to spout) 4-1/2 inch diameter at the base.

RARE ANTIQUE French Worcester Style BLUE SCALE TEA CADDY Birds Insects WITH LID!
Here you are looking at a rare antique cobalt blue French tea caddy. It is most likely from the latter half of the 19th century. It is expertly hand painted with birds of paradise and insects. The lid. Which is almost always missing on something like this, also has a bird of paradise painted on the top. The scroll work around the birds and insects is beautifully done with wonderful checkered cobalt blue making up the rest of it. With the lid it is 4 3/4 inches tall. It is not marked but it is very similar to Tea Caddys made by Samson of Paris. They were known not to mark alot of their pieces. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. At any rate I am comfortable dating it to the late 19th Century at the very least. Thecup measures 2 1/2" by 5 1/2" the saucer measures 6 1/4" and the plate 7" There are several small edge chips to the glaze on the rim of the cup. Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely antique teapot. I found this in the east of France but it could also be German. It is very early since it does not have the name of the country on it so it was made before the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 which required all ceramic and porcelain be marked with the country of origin. So I would think if she is French she might represent Marie Antoinette and if she is German she might represent Cici. Both were considered very beautiful women. She has her hair done with flowing curls and swept up off of her sweet face with a flower in it. She is wearing a white and blue dress with large lace cuffs. It is cold in thoses castles so she is warming her hands with her cup of tea. The tray is irregular shaped measuring 13" X 11 1/2" the teapot stands 7" tall; the sugar bowl is 5" handle to handle and the creamer is 4" tall. The set has been in our family for many years but I do not know the exact age. This is an antique Haviland tea cup and saucer with blue flowers and green leaves. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches and the cup. 3 1/4 and 2 1/8 inches deep. The bottom of both pieces is stamped: Haviland, France in Green and Haviland and Co, Loges, in red. The edges are embosses and the cup handle has gold flourishes. It is in excellent condition. Antique Nast Early 19th C French Paris Porcelain Tea Set As Is
Here is an early set of porcelain. There is the teapot. Which is 9 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" from spout to handle, it is very heavy. The lid has a couple chips, the teapot has a couple rim chips but there are no cracks. There is not a strainer on the inside so perhaps it is a coffee or chocolate pot. Next is a large waste bowl that is 7 3/8" in diameter at the opening and 3 3/4" high at the edge. It has a large chip and a hairline. The creamer is 7 1/2" tall at the handle, there are some hairlines in it. The covered sugar bowl is 6" tall and 4 5/8" across the opening. There are a couple chips on the rim of the base and one on the edge of the lid. Also included are 4 cups and saucers or tea bowls. The bowls are 4 7/8" across and the cups are a bit under 2 1/2" across and tall. Two of the saucers have ... morechips. Two of the cups have chips, one of the cups has a large chip and a hairline and the other has just the hairline crack. All pieces have some wear to the decoration, mostly at the rims and edges. Antique majolica tea pot. Made by Sarreguemines in the east of France, decorated with transfer fruit pattern on sleek black porcelain background. Stamped under the base with the antique hollow mark SARREGUEMINES FRANCE and also numbered in hollow 5Rs. The inside of the tea pot has a small chip from the lid. William Morris French Antique Limoges Porcelain‘Blue Cornflowers’ Tea-For-Two Ensemble A very pretty and delicate ensemble called a‘tête-a-tête’ in France or a teapot for two. With a matching milk pot all on a tray. Made in fine porcelain from Limoges and stamped AP& F(which may stand for André Pillion& Fils) France. This little set was made between 1860-1880. With tiny blue cornflowers, leaves and blue lines, a pattern known as‘Barbeaux’ The later version of this pattern had gold lines replace the blue ones. The tea pot measures 8 inches high and the milk pot is 5 ¼ inches tall. The tray is 10 x 7 inches at its widest points. It is in excellent condition– no chips.
