This is a rare pearlware cup plate in excellent condition. A beautiful wash of pink lustre over the blue & white transfer border of daisy-like blooms ... moreadds an elegance to this small pottery cup plate. The blue transfer that is encircled by the border illustrates a water fall with a gentleman and a cow in the foreground. A ruin with an arcade and tower is in the middle-ground. A country church pin-points a small village in the distance. This print is not attributed to any particular Staffordshire pottery, as far as I know. This cup plate was made in England at the end of the Georgian era, about 1825. The condition is near perfect. There are only some minor rubs in lustre.3.7” Diameter.3” Deep

A early English(Staffordshire? pearlware tea canister with its lid. Transfer printed underglaze in blue with a chinoiserie showing four individuals in ... morea garden. Both sides show the same image. The blue is very dark and has somewhat run, looking like flow blue. The glaze has a distinct blue color all over. I have not been able to identify the image from the literature on transfer prints and blue and white. The shape is more common with 18th century creamware. I believe this to be a very early piece of transfer printed pearlware. Ca. 1780-1800. The earliest pearlware was imitating blue and white Chinese and English porcelain and often has a distinctly blue glaze due to the addition of cobalt to the glaze to get the blue color. As is common with early pieces from the 18th century, the canister is unmarked. Condition: The canister and lid are in good condition. With the following damages: Three small chips on de underside of the canister(see photographs of details) A scar to the glaze where the canister touched another object when it was fired Some fleabites Very fine crazing overall Lid: 2 hairlines each ca. 1/2” One chip and one firing crack, all to the sleeve and none of them visible when the lid is on the canister. No restorations. Total height with lid: 3 3/8 inches/ 8.5 cm Maximum diameter: 4 3/4 inches/ 12 cm Shipping and insurance: Buyer pays for priority mail plus additional insurance if needed. rare ca 1820 English pearlware porcelain 3-pc tea service, strawberry motif
Offered here without reserve is this ca 1820 English pearlware 3-pc tea service in the strawberry motif- teapot. Creamer and sugar. The teapot measures 11" from handle to spout, appx 7" high and 4 5/8" wide; the creamer is 6 1/2" long, 4" high and 3 3/8" wide while the sugar is 7 1/2" wide x 6" high x 4 1/2" wide. There are some apologies, though none that preclude actually using this service. First, the body of the sugar has a browner tone to it that does its lid and the other pieces, thus suggesting that this is an assembled set. Second, both the teapot and sugar have age lines underneath- lines that on the teapot at least come partially thru to the other side. I emphasize, though, that these are not repaired cracks but due to the somewhat natural aging of the pieces. Finally, there is a hairline ... morewhere the handle joins the teapot at the top of the handle- but no crack below and the handle has not been repaired or reattached. In any event, again, there is no reserve but buyer pays $18 for domestic USPS shipping. Insofar as international shipping is concerned, only actual shipping costs will be charged.
Antique English Pearlware Flow Blue Tea Canister Transfer Printed 1780-1800
A early English(Staffordshire? pearlware tea canister with its lid. Transfer printed underglaze in blue with a chinoiserie showing four individuals in a garden. Condition: The canister and lid are ... morein good condition. I will combine multiple purchases. Bidders outside the US please ask for a quote.
