ANTIQUE ENGLISH POTTERY TEAPOT CANARY LUSTRE CA. 1830'S SUNDERLAND TRANSFERWARE
Albion Antiek Antique English Teapot Ca. 1820-30's- Canary Lustre Pottery This listing is for a wonderful antique English pottery teapot. It is not marked but was almost certainly made in the North East of England(Sunderland/Newcastle area) and dates to ca 1820-30's. The pattern is transfer printed in black over a solid yellow background(canary yellow lustre. Most close to the last picture below) This teapot is a wonderful classical Georgian shape and measures 5-3/4" high(to top of finial) and 8-1/4" long(handle to spout) There are some flakes on the black trim and a small chip on the end of the spout. Also some small nicks along the inside opening(see pictures) Along the base of the"collar" flare around the opening of the teapot there is a fine hairline(appears like a darkened crazing line(see close-up picture) ... morealso on the outside, this is not very detracting. Someone in the past used a blue pen to camouflage some of the missing black trims. There are no cracks or hairlines, no other chips and no repairs or restoration. There is a bit of wear and age crazing of the glaze and a glaze flaw on the handle(manufacturing flaw) This lid is not a very good fit. Although it is the original and correct lid, but it is slightly too large. Please see my other listings a for a matching sucrier and creamer in this pattern. Please excuse any glares(white patches) that you may see in the pictures. These are caused by reflections of light on the glaze and are not on the actual object itself. Please note that I am located in the Netherlands(Amsterdam. Holland) which means that this item will be shipped from Europe. I ship worldwide and make sure all purchases are shipped within 24 hours of payment, with the exception of weekends(payments received on Fridays or weekends will ship on the following Monday) Items shipped to the USA and other countries outside Europe normally take 1-2 weeks to arrive, occasionally it can take a bit longer. ANTIQUE ENGLISH VICTORIAN POTTERY TEAPOT ~ COBALT BLUE
We believe this to be an old English late Victorian pottery teapot. It has a silver plated lid and weighs a little over 2 ¼ lbs. It is about 6 ¾” in height and measures approximately 10” across from the tip on the teapot spout to the back of the handle. The pot has no manufacturer’s mark. B20” is painted on the bottom(see photos) The cobalt blue glaze is decorated with what appears to be some sort of copper luster depicting palm trees which connote some sort of foreign exotic location. The tea pot was used and exhibits normal use wear to the decoration and to the silver plated lid. Constant use by human hands have worn a pattern in the plated finish around the finial and again on one edge(see photos) The teapot is in good original condition despite its’ age. Other than a pin head sized glaze pock to the body and the silver plate ... morewear mentioned. We find little fault here. The piece has no chips or cracks. We have double checked the spout and handle and see no evidence of historical repairs. It is simply a nice old tea pot in a desirable color. Please note: Expedited shipping is available upon request. Antique English DaveStaffordshire Blue Transfer Pearlware Cow Teapot c1830
Blue& white staffordshire. Romantic Transferware by Davenport in the"Montilla" pattern. This octagonally shaped teapot was made between 1820 and 1860. It features a scrolled and floral band around the rim. The central inner medallion and two scenes on each side feature an onion domed(almost Russian Orthodox) temple. With a woman on its steps at the right. There is a river in the center, which is very typical of this genre. The left bank features towering elm trees and a village with mountains in the background. A lower register of lines, stylized squares and scrolls graces the pedestaled bottom. The transfer is a crisp, clear, light blue on white ironstone. The teapot stands 10" inches tall. And is 10" wide There are some discoloration nicks in the inner rim where lid meets and some discolorations on inside of pot
Antique English Creamware "Cauliflower" Teapot (as is) - no reserve
This is a cute little teapot. And although it has many condition issues, might be worth adding to your collection. It is early English cream ware, over 200 years old, and was made to resemble a head of cauliflower. The leaves are a glossy green, and the florets a creamy white. Now. The bad news. I think the lid is some sort of replacement, as it does not fit very well. The handle and spout have had restoration work, and I think the white area around the opening has had work as well. Inside, where there are holes to strain the tea leaves from going into the spout, there is a break. I don't have a blacklight. So just assume this has been damaged and restored, and we'll both be happy. In spite of everything, it is very nice looking as is, so I didn't want to go scraping off any of the repair work on this one. Not marked, but I have ... morebeen able to find similar examples pictured in books, describing this as 18th century creamware. With a low starting bid and no reserve. I'll let the bidders decide on this. Let me know if you need additional pictures or information. Approximately 6.5" long. 3.5" wide, 4.75" high Lid replaced. Other restoration(see description) Payment by PayPal. Unless other arrangements have been made. All items are described as accurately as possible. And may be returned if not as represented. They usually sound worse than they are, so you won't be disappointed when they arrive and turn out to be better than described! If not as represented, item may be returned(with my stickers intact) Please email before returning any item. If you have any doubts or confusions about an item or terms. Please email BEFORE bidding. Note that I am on the road frequently, so please email early and/or be patient, thank you. All items carefully packed. Most are sent Priority Mail. Some may require another ground service to be cost effective, and in these cases, the customer will need to supply a street address. Large antique teapot dating to 1830-1840 made by Rockingham of England. The Acanthus Leaf. An indicator of its age, surrounds the rim of the pot alternating with a stylized flower urn design; both motifs are raised relief molded. Another interesting feature are the twin spouts: a charming display of whimsy. The primitive teapot is adorned with that wonderful dark chocolate brown glaze. White spots are the result of camera noise and were absolutely unavoidable due to the highly reflective ... moresurface of the teapot. There is chipping to one spout and a chip at the rim where the lid would be placed. Shown in photos above. The rim chip is very dark and not readily noticeable. Also there are spots of glaze misses on both the teapot and the lid. Approximate Measurements: 8 inches high with lid in place 11-1/2 from spout to handle 3 quart capacity The teapot is quite heavy weighing approximately 3 pounds 8 ounces without packing materials. I figure on a 6-1/2 pound double boxed carton for safe arrival. Insurance applies and will be reflected in the shipping calculator located above next to the description tab. Please remember to scroll down to the end of the listing. As there are times I receive questions and they will be answered there. Or there may be a bid on the item, so I have added an addendum to the description for something that I may have forgotten. Please keep in mind that I'm not selling new items. They usually are antique or vintage. Can be a hundred or more years old and have been gently used. Edge wear on gold is to be considered as normal and the usual. Antique English White Ironstone Teapot Gothic Holland & Green 1854 Staffordshire
A fabulous antique English white ironstone teapot in the rare"Gothic" pattern. Made by Holland& Green around 1854. The teapot is a beautiful specimen and displays very well with some issues commensurate with age. The spout has been expertly reattached with only a very, very fine line visible that looks like a craze line. The lid appears just slightly too small and lacks a vent hole, which leads me to believe it is a sugar bowl lid from the same set. Fine glaze crazing throughout the teapot with some faint areas of discoloration, but overall it is clean and white. Three small flakes to the inner rim which are covered by the lid, and one fine short hairline on the rim by the handle. This is minor. Small chip to a corner of the lid and a flake to another corner on the underside. It is a beautiful and very rare piece. The teapot ... moremeasures 9.75" tall x 8.75" from handle to spout. Antique English Staffordshire Sprig Decorated Teapot,1825-1835
A lovely early 19th century teapot of soft paste eathenware.Undoubtedly English and produced in the Staffordshire District by an unknown foundry. It was found hidden amid the logs supporting the floor of The Olde Foundry Street General Store basement with numerous other early items and predates the house by some 15-20 years.Probably brought here and used by one of the mule drivers who worked the old Morris Canal behind the house and called this one-time barracks his abode. It's a lovely teapot, with lively sprig decorations in vibrant greens and pinks on a cream ground. The pot's shape is one common to the 1825-1835 period in English manufacture and the piece is of good size. Not in the best of shape but certainly not deserving of"shelf piece" status. There is mild staining to the lid and some on the base as well, along with several ... moresuperficial hairlines, but miraculously the finial has never been detatched or repaired and the spout was also spared any damage. The inner lip of the opening where the lid sits has numerous chips, but they of course are hidden entirely when the lid is in place. And I tend to think that, considering that I found the pot sitting in an upright position beneath the support logs of the ceiling overhead, the staining on the lid might very well be from the bark of the timbers bleeding onto it over the eons rather than from tea anyway. It could indeed still be used to serve tea if desired and presents itself quite nobly. It would look beautifully amid other eathenwares of the period in a corner cabinet or on the shelf of a fine Welsh cupboard indeed! Every time that I find such a hidden treasure in this old house I imagine that one of the mule drivers hastily stashed his few wordly posessions as he ran off valiantly to fight in The Great Rebellion and that he simply never made it back to reclaim them. And considering that this teapot predates the home itself and must have been brought here by someone transient who once lived under it's eaves. That could very well be the case here.Thank
