Antique English Creamware Pottery Tea Pot, Wedgwood, c1770
An Antique English Wedgwood Ceramic Creamware Pottery Tea Pot with a strap handle moulded with overlapping leaves or scales ending in a neat foliate terminal. Also having an acorn finial and a"cabbage" or"overlapping leaf" spout. The puce enamel decoration is in the manner of James Bakewell, an enameller who worked for Wedgwood for many years. We date this tea pot to c1770. While unmarked. We attribute this tea pot to Wedgwood because of the spout, knop and handle. The handle and spout are both pictured in Robin Reilly's book, Wedgwood, The New Illustrated Dictionary" on pages 217 and 400. They are both the most easily identified of all Wedgwood handles and spouts. The knop, is also one of the usual types used by Wedgwood and is pictured on page 207, Plate V111, figure 3, of Donald Towner's book, Creamware. ... moreCONDITION: Restoration to spout and lid. Two minor haircracks also restored on either side of the lip. Some minor wear to the glaze. MEASUREMENTS: 6 1/2" High by 8" Wide from the tip of the spout to the handle. If you are in the Fairfield. Antique English Creamware Whieldon style Pottery Tea Pot c1770-1775
Antique English Creamware Whieldon style tortoise glaze pottery Tea Pot. Enameled in brown manganese. The entwined rope handles end in floral terminals. The rim is beeded as is the foot. The spout is ribbed and molded. The lid has a beeded rim and a floral finial ending in molded leaves. c1770-1780 The spout, handle, terminals and floral finial are all attributed to the Leeds Pottery, see Donald Towner's book, Creamware, pages 191-211. Early Leeds creamware, that made before 1775, was a deep cream color with a yellowish glaze. When you take a look at the pictures above, you'll see that accurately describes the color of this tea pot. CONDITION: There are minor chips on the inner rim(note picture#7) and a rim chip on the foot(note pictures 8 and 9) This pot has not had any restoration. A little background on Creamware and the Leeds ... morePottery: Cream-colored earthenware first appeared in Staffordshire sometime between 1730-1740. Production later spread to Derbyshire and Yorkshire and then to Europe. In the 1760s Josiah Wedgwood proved his genius for developing a superior material from a standard formula. After much experimentation with the addition of cornish Clay and china Stone, he literally"invented" a new ceramic body. At first the Wedgwood version was known as Queens Ware but as other competitors joined the hunt the material became known generically as Creamware. Of all the potteries which existed in South Yorkshire in the 18th Century. By far the most important one was the Leeds Pottery. While there is some debate regarding the founding of the factory-some say 1760, others 1770-it is with some certainty that one can say that its first pieces were being produced by the end of 1770. While creamware was what the Leeds Pottery was known for, they also followed the pattern set by Thomas Whieldon, of making a great variety of different types of ware. Factory marks are exceedingly rare, so as with this pot, you will find most wares unmarked. AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING: The domestic rates quoted a

ANTIQUE ENGLISH VICTORIAN POTTERY TEAPOT ~ COBALT BLUE
We believe this to be an old English late Victorian pottery teapot. It has a silver plated lid and weighs a little over 2 ¼ lbs. It is about 6 ¾” in height and measures approximately 10” across from the tip on the teapot spout to the back of the handle. The pot has no manufacturer’s mark. B20” is painted on the bottom(see photos) The cobalt blue glaze is decorated with what appears to be some sort of copper luster depicting palm trees which connote some sort of foreign exotic location. The tea pot was used and exhibits normal use wear to the decoration and to the silver plated lid. Constant use by human hands have worn a pattern in the plated finish around the finial and again on one edge(see photos) The teapot is in good original condition despite its’ age. Other than a pin head sized glaze pock to the body and the silver plate ... morewear mentioned. We find little fault here. The piece has no chips or cracks. We have double checked the spout and handle and see no evidence of historical repairs. It is simply a nice old tea pot in a desirable color. Please note: Expedited shipping is available upon request. CONDITION: Tiny hairline to spout restored MEASUREMENTS: 5 1/2" tall- 6 1/2 inches wide to the tip of the spout A Little Background on Salt Glaze: Salt Glaze pottery is exactly what the name implies. Stoneware which has had salt thrown in the kiln at a very high temperature. The volatized salt combines with the mineral elements of the clay leaving a thin coating. The end result leaves an outer layer with the minute"orange peel" pitting that is a characteristic of English Salt Glaze. While the technique dates sto the ... more15th Century in Germany, it was not until the late 17th Century that the potters of Staffordshire in England began producing it in any quantity. Salt Glaze was produced with various finishes; plain white, enameled and printed. Examples of all of these are in our inventory including"scratch blue" which has a relatively brief popularity. While Salt Glaze continued to be produced, the the mid 18th Century it was supplanted in the public affection by Creamware. Antique English Glazed Engine Turned Redware Coffee Pot Set Chinese Style 1700s
This auction features a one of a kind 1700s engine turned or pottery wheel English coffee pot set. This set comes complete with a coffee pot. Sugar bowl, and creamer, the pot and sugar bowl both having their lids. Which is especially rare. This amazing Yi-Hising Chinese inspired set is in fabulous shape with only a few minor chips. No cracks, and to my knowledge there has been no repairs. I believe this set was produced by the dutch silversmiths David and John Elers, who worked in London and Staffordshire in the early 1700's. The brothers produced a very finely potted smooth ware with decorated applied China export designs. All pieces have a matte glaze on the tops and a shiny wet look glaze towards the bottom. Measurements are as follows: Coffee pot with lid stands 10-1/2" tall and is 9"in diameter at its widest point. The ... moresugar bowl with lid is 7" tall and 7-1/2" in diameter at its widest point, and the creamer is 5-1/4" tall and 6" across at its widest point. This unbelievable find would be fantastic if you just found the coffee pot with no lid, but to find this complete set with their original lids and no restoration is nearly impossible. Please examine all photos carefully and email me with any questions that you might have before bidding to ensure you complete satisfaction on this incredible, rare treasure. Good luck and happy bidding.

It features a scrolled and floral band around the rim. The central inner medallion and two scenes on each side feature an onion domed(almost Russian Orthodox) temple. With a woman on its steps at the right. There is a river in the center, which is very typical of this genre. The left bank features towering elm trees and a village with mountains in the background. A lower register of lines, stylized squares and scrolls graces the pedestaled bottom. The transfer is a crisp, clear, light blue on white ironstone. The teapot stands 10" inches tall. Antique English Creamware "Cauliflower" Teapot (as is) - no reserve
This is a cute little teapot. And although it has many condition issues, might be worth adding to your collection. It is early English cream ware, over 200 years old, and was made to resemble a head of cauliflower. The leaves are a glossy green, and the florets a creamy white. Now. The bad news. I think the lid is some sort of replacement, as it does not fit very well. The handle and spout have had restoration work, and I think the white area around the opening has had work as well. Inside, where there are holes to strain the tea leaves from going into the spout, there is a break. I don't have a blacklight. So just assume this has been damaged and restored, and we'll both be happy. In spite of everything, it is very nice looking as is, so I didn't want to go scraping off any of the repair work on this one. Not marked, but I have ... morebeen able to find similar examples pictured in books, describing this as 18th century creamware. With a low starting bid and no reserve. I'll let the bidders decide on this. Let me know if you need additional pictures or information. Approximately 6.5" long. 3.5" wide, 4.75" high Lid replaced. Other restoration(see description) Payment by PayPal. Unless other arrangements have been made. All items are described as accurately as possible. And may be returned if not as represented. They usually sound worse than they are, so you won't be disappointed when they arrive and turn out to be better than described! If not as represented, item may be returned(with my stickers intact) Please email before returning any item. If you have any doubts or confusions about an item or terms. Please email BEFORE bidding. Note that I am on the road frequently, so please email early and/or be patient, thank you. All items carefully packed. Most are sent Priority Mail. Some may require another ground service to be cost effective, and in these cases, the customer will need to supply a street address. But rather manufacturer made and filled with glaze. The other spout. Large Rockingham Chocolate Brown Glazed Twin/ Double Spout Teapot: 1830-1840: England This listing is for a very old and rare. Large antique teapot dating to 1830-1840 made by Rockingham of England. The Acanthus Leaf. An indicator of its age, surrounds the rim of the pot alternating with a stylized flower urn design; both motifs are raised relief molded. Another interesting feature are the twin spouts: a charming display of whimsy. The primitive teapot is adorned with that wonderful dark chocolate brown glaze. White spots are the result of camera noise and were absolutely unavoidable due to the highly reflective ... moresurface of the teapot. There is chipping to one spout and a chip at the rim where the lid would be placed. Shown in photos above. The rim chip is very dark and not readily noticeable. Also there are spots of glaze misses on both the teapot and the lid. Approximate Measurements: 8 inches high with lid in place 11-1/2 from spout to handle 3 quart capacity The teapot is quite heavy weighing approximately 3 pounds 8 ounces without packing materials. I figure on a 6-1/2 pound double boxed carton for safe arrival. Insurance applies and will be reflected in the shipping calculator located above next to the description tab. Please remember to scroll down to the end of the listing. As there are times I receive questions and they will be answered there. Or there may be a bid on the item, so I have added an addendum to the description for something that I may have forgotten. Please keep in mind that I'm not selling new items. They usually are antique or vintage. Can be a hundred or more years old and have been gently used. Edge wear on gold is to be considered as normal and the usual.
