ITEM: Made available is an old vintage export Japanese[Banko ware? Majolica-style snail teapot. Sugar& creamer, and salt& Pepper 7-piece set. The shiney glaze includes random areas of"gritty-sand" texture; mimicking"sea shells with sea sand" There are partial unknown marks on the salt& peppers. We have since been advised by a helpful EBAYer that the set was imported into Florida. U.S. during the 1960's, specifically to promote tourism. Thanks for the info! CONDITION: The condition is very good with minimal age-related wear. Both teapot& creamer lids fit well. There are small crafting imperfections: to include random glaze firing cracks which do not penetrate through the ceramic. The salt& peppers have missing cork plugs. We are in the process of personally downsizing our old Victorian home which is filled to the brim with antiques and collectibles acquired over the years through my experience as an antique collector and buyer of estates. ANTIQUE ESTATE ITEM MAJOLICA PORCELAIN BLACK c.1920-1930's BLACK POODLE Teapot German Vintage Erphila Porcelain Marked AK 743(that is what it looks like to seller) ... morePoodle Dog very neat and different item to display for the dog lover piece stands approx. 8 1/4" in height head is the removable top*CONDITION. Please read carefully as it is fairly and accurately detailed. There are no cracks or stains. There is a tiny bit of crazing(seen only in three areas- white paws of spout, underside of head when tipped upside down and removed, and finally the actual bottom of teapot) as is common with this item on most pieces offered for sale. There is an imperfection on the inside rim edge of the pot. At first glance. It looks like a nick, but if you examine it carefully(and I really tried) there is glaze over a portion of it, so my best guess is that it was in the manufacturing process. I cannot guarantee that, so please take a look as I tried to capture the area and see if it is bothersome. Only exposed if you have the head of the dog off. ALSO another imperfection and glazed over a a thin white line that was left uncolored, very small also on underside of head, should be noted. Have had this piece for years and hard to part with it. Antique French German Faience Majolica Figural Teapot Tea Pot, ff389
Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely antique teapot. I found this in the east of France but it could also be German. It is very early since it does not have the name of the country on it so it was made before the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 which required all ceramic and porcelain be marked with the country of origin. So I would think if she is French she might represent Marie Antoinette and if she is German she might represent Cici. Both were considered very beautiful women. She has her hair done with flowing curls and swept up off of her sweet face with a flower in it. She is wearing a white and blue dress with large lace cuffs. It is cold in thoses castles so she is warming her hands with her cup of tea. THIS IS A WEDGWOOD MAJOLICA RENAISSANCE TEAPOT. AN EXCELLENT QUALITY WEDGWOOD MAJOLICA TEAPOT c.1875. THE SPHEROID BODY DECORATED WITH RENAISSANCE GARLANDS OF LAUREL LEAVES AND MASKS. THE BOTTOM HALF GLAZED IN A MOTTLED COBALT BLUE, BROWN, AND YELLOW, THE SPOUT GLAZED IN YELLOW AND BROWN WITH A MASK TO THE UNDERSIDE. THE MOTTLED LID WITH GOTHIC PANELS AND A GREEN AND BROWN CLASSIC FINIAL. THIS WONDERFUL ANTIQUE TEAPOT IS ABOUT 6 INCHES WIDE AND 5 INCHES TALL. SOME USE NOTED TO THE INSIDE OF THE TEAPOT. NO CRACKS. 1874 WILLIAM BROWNFIELD&SONS Ivy Basketweave 1.5 Cup TEAPOT Earthenware Majolica
For sale is a stunning antique BROWNFIELD& SONS teapot with lid. This tea pot is made of glazed enameled earthenware in the majolica style with high-relief decoration. The top half is has royal navy blue enameled glazing decorated with green ivy leaves. Vines, and red berries. The bottom half is a basket weave in raised-relief and golden brown glazing. The handle is branch shaped and a bit of the ivy vine grows up the spout. The inside is decorated with a sky blue slip glaze. The lid has a green finale for a handle. This piece is simply beautiful and a sight to be seen! This piece has the William Brownfield and Sons molded mark and the English Registration diamond-shaped mark. The Brownfield and Sons mark includes the words"Trade Mark" over two projections of the earth wrapped in ribbon. The English Registration mark includes ... morethe letter"U" on the right hand side. A letter"M" on the bottom, 2" on the left hand side, and"6" on top. This establishes the registration date as June 6, 1874. The pattern name on a ribbon shape is include below the registration diamond but is glaze obscured and undecipherable. This teapot is approximately 5 inches in diameter across the body. It is 3-3/4 inches tall with the lid on. 2-5/8 inches with the lid off, and to the top of the spout it is 3-1/8 inches tall. From spout to handle is approximately 6-1/2 inches. The top opening is approximately 1-7/8 inches in diameter and 3-3/8 inches across the bottom foot. The capacity is approximately 1-1/2 cups. This antique teapot is in very good used condition. The glaze is bright and shiny. There is very little. Very light use marks to the glaze. There is light crazing to the glaze on the inside and on the bottom. There is one small nick about 1/8" size on the bottom edge of the spout. This is shown in the last photograph. Please see photographs. This litle teapot has some dsys on her very fine work for majolica but this teapot is very well crafted with a thin glaze of multi colors. 4 3/4 high 8" wide spout to handle wide pot is 6" wide no Mark as shown in photo glazed inside and out.
