The quality of this teapot is very high and it is signed. It measures 2-1/4" long(5.8 cm. Handle to spout) and just under 1-5/8" high(4 cm, to top of finial) I don't know how old this teapot is, but it does appear to have some age to it. There is a tiny chip on the edge of the lid(see pictures) Apart from that it is perfect: no chips, no cracks or hairlines and no repairs or restoration. Please note that I am located in the Netherlands(Amsterdam. Holland) which means that this item will be shipped from Europe. This is a very beautiful vintage teapot set. It is three pieces consisting of teapot. Covered sugar bowl and creamer. Very unique and very colorful. It is marked Hull Art Pottery. Large floral design traced in gold. I am not sure of the age, but possibly 1930 or so. It is beautiful, but as mentioned, not perfect. There is some gold loss, typical on an old piece. Under the lip of the spout there is a very tiny nick. Hard to see because of the location. Teapot measures 5 x 9-1/2 and the creamer is 5-1/2 and sugar 5-1/4 inch. Displays really well. The set was made in the first half of the 1800's. The tea set is decorated with a lovely copper metallic luster. The tea set is done in classic form with nice ribbing on the body and lid. The set includes: Teapot: 10 3/4 inches from handle to spout and 6 1/4 inches tall. 1 Covered Sugar: 7 inches across the handles and 4 1/2 inches tall. 1 Creamer: 5 3/4 inches from handle to spout and 4 1/4 inches tall. The ribbing on the side and lid of the sugar bowl is narrower than the teapot and creamer. And it is possible that the sugar bowl came from a different set than the creamer& teapot. If so, the marriage is a very good one, and even ... morethe copper luster finish matches perfectly. The overall condition is excellent. The teapot. Sugar bowl and creamer all ring nicely when pinged. If there are any cracks we cannot find them. The lid of the teapot has a number of chips to the edge, but it still rings well. We have pointed these out in the last photo. The teapot itself is in great shape, with only a tiny flake to the very top edge and one at the spout. I have for you this evening a beautiful example of porcelain made at the kilns of the Morimura brothers aka Noritake in the early part of the mid 20th century. This set is made of excellent grade porcelain and has been cast into a classic mold design for this maker. The motif is simple here with pink roses on prestine white porcelain with gold gilt accents. The hand painted roses have been embelished with thickly applied enamels to give the piece more visual and tactile appeal. This would make a beautiful wedding or aniversary gift. Antique ironstone child's teapot, covered sugar and cup ND2711
Antique ironstone child's teapot. Covered sugar and cup set. Just delightful but incomplete child's tea set. The pieces are not marked so are either very early English or American made. Teapot: Measures 5 1/2" to the top of the finial; 5" from tip of spout to handle; 3 1/2" in diameter at the fattest part of the body. It is heavily crazed with some discoloration on one side. There is a small chip on the edge of the finial. A hairline crack about 1 1/2" in length beginning at the rim, and what appears to be a defect in the firing and glazing process on the spout. It looks like a crack but us glazed over so I believe it is from the clay drying and shrinking in the manufacturing process. Covered sugar: Measures 4 1/2" to the top of the finial; 2 5/8" in diameter at the top and 3 1/4" in diameter at ... morethe fattest section. It is heavily crazed. Has a chip on the rim of the cover, and a 1/2" hairline crack beginning sat the rim. Cup: Measures 2 1/8" in height and 2 1/2" in diameter. It is heavily crazed and badly discolored. It has two chips on the rim and a 3/4" hairline crack beginning at the rim. The only surviving pieces of what was likely a large set of play dishes. Tea set including teapot. Covered sugar, and creamer, white w. gilt trim. This set is unmarked so it's maker cannot be determined. It is likely American made and not Staffordshire as most English pieces were marked. The tea pot measures 10 1/4" to the top of the finial and 10" from handle to tip of spout.The spout and finial are in perfect condition. There is some discoloration around the rim of the opening at the top, a very fine hairline in the glaze of the handle at the base, three very fine hairline cracks which have discolored-two only faintly and one very clearly. The pot is stable and when knocked with your knuckle the sound is solid. The creamer is in excellent condition having no chips. Cracks, crazing or discoloration. It measures 5 1/2" in height to the tip of the spout, and 4" in diameter at the widest ... moresection of the body. The covered sugar measures 9" to the top of the finial and 7" from handle to handle. The top is in good condition. The finial is perfect but there is one hairline crack about 1" in length. The base has some discoloration around the top, no cracks, but each handle has two ears and on one handle one of the ears has chipped off. It has a manufacturing flaw in that the base is not exactly flat and the piece can be slightly rocked back and forth when pressure is applied. The gilt trim on this set is bright and solid-no signs of wear. It would make a lovely display set and could still be used.
