18th Century Chinese Export Armorial Tea Caddy, Arms of Cheselden, Qianlong
Chinese Export Armorial Tea Caddy.Arms of Cheselden Description: Offered is a Chinese Export. Famille rose, armorialtea caddy that dates to around 1750. The shield features three Maltese crossessurmounted by a reclining leopard. The collector who bought this piece recordedin his notes that the arms are those of the Cheselden family. According to Wikiedia, there was a William Cheselden who was an English surgeon and teacher of anatomy and who lived from 1688 to 1752. Perhaps this piece belonged to himor a member of his family! In any event, please see David Sanctuary Howard's definitive reference book on Armorial Porcelain, page 795, to read more about this specific armorial service. Please note that the lid of the tea caddy is notoriginal to the piece. But the colors of the lid’s enamels closely approximatethe color of the tea caddy’s ... moreenamels. The caddy is 4 ¼” high without the lid and about 3” wide. This piece is part of a collection that I am currently helping a friend to liquidate. Her father assembled this collection of Chinese Export porcelain from the 1980’s until recently. This particular piece was purchased in 1982 from a prominent Canadian dealer of superb and unique export porcelain. Who has long since passed away Many of the pieces from his collection are highly unusual and are rarely seen in the current market. Please look at the other items from thecollection that is being offered in this and in subsequent weeks. Please bookmarkmy seller name so that you can see these exciting new offerings! I guarantee this item to be asdescribed. If the purchaser is not happywith the item. I will take it back. The purchaser would be responsible forpaying the shipping chargers to return it to me. I will be happy to answer anyfurther questions about this item and to email you additional pictures if yourequest it. Condition: The lid is chipped. There is a minute hairline on theneck of the tea caddy that is less than ½” long. It is barely noticeable! About me: I havebeen collecting 17th and 18th century C

18th Century Ralph or Enoch Wood Ezekiel 9.5 inches Tall
I would have sworn I listed this earlier-but? This is an earlier piece-note the kiln ash and the glaze:misses: around the base of it. I consider this part of its charm-the missing thumb and the chip on the tree trunk- I consider damage. The glaze on the crow is odd and flat. His face is incredibly well molded and he is very intense. Someone has scratched a number into the base of the piece. But it is obviously a later addition. I am assuming Ralph woods due to the fine quality, but it could be any of the other early factories. I love these pieces, but I have to clear out my mess. SALE! Late 18th-early 19th century Old Paris or Bayeux teapot
This antique French porcelain teapot measures 7" high and 10" wide(from the tip of the handle to the tip of the spout) There's loss of gilding as expected for its age. But the landscapes(2 different) on both sides of the teapot are in perfect condition as you can see in the photos. The teapot itself is in mint condition. The chinoiserie theme in Paris porcelain, as the high-quality scenes in the teapot, is not a very recurrent one, so these items, whenever found, are very special. PLEASE DON'T PAY UNTIL YOU RECEIVE MY INVOICE, since the shipping cost that appears on the page may not be the right amount.

Very Rare 18th century Chinese Export Sugar Bowl w/ FooDog finial & Am Eagle
This is an extraordinary Chinese Export Sugar Bowl dating from the late 18th century commemorating America's entry into the China Trade. The multi colored swag border on the bowl is intact as are the handles. Unfortunately over the years the American Eagle and monogram have been reduced to a shadow which is still clear and readable like Chinese shadow blue ceramics. The Foo Dog or Lucky Lion finial is also unusual. In this case the head of the Foo Dog has been broken off and the gilt on the top is worn. The base has a firing flaw and a small 1/2" tight hairline crack along the rim. Other than that. The handles are original and unblemished and piece is without chips.the piece measures about 5 inches tall with a diameter of 4 inches over all about 6 inches. Given the rare nature of the motif and finial this piece is well worth the ... moreeffort of bringing it back to its former appearance. As is it displays nicely on a shelf or table. Three pieces with this rare eagle motif were offered as part of the October 19. 2000 Sotheby's sale of the well known Mildred and Rafi MOTTAHEDEH collection This motif seems to have been used during a very brief window in the American China trade appearing as early as 1795 and being abandoned by the early 1800's. Catalog entries#334 and#335 bears the closest resemblance to this sugar bowl incorporating both an American eagle with sunburst and enclosing a cypher. While the Mottahedeh examples still retained this motif in full form, both pieces they appeared on bore more severe damage with repairs and hairlines than the current example and were exhibited at major American museums. Both pieces also featured the more conventional fruit-form finial rather than the more rare Foo Dog motif. Pre sale estimates of both pieces were $1,00-$1500 a piece. The current auction offers an unusual opportunity to own a rare piece of Americana worthy of restoration to bring it back to its former glory. Although I try to describe all items as accurately as possible. Please ask all questions befo

18th CENTURY ENGLISH GEORGIAN PORCELAIN FLORAL PAINTED TEAPOT
Please scroll down the page to see additional photographs of this item. 18th CENTURY ENGLISH GEORGIAN PORCELAIN FLORAL PAINTED TEAPOT Presented is a lovely porcelain teapot. This teapot was made in England between 1750 to 1790. It is a fine quality example and is well over 200 years old. There are several possibilities for the maker. And as the pot is not stamped(which is quite common for 18th-century pieces) I will not speculate as to the exact maker. The form and decoration should give you a good idea. The teapot is hand painted with beautiful red, yellow, purple and pink flowers. There are fine gold gilt accents on the rim of the lid and the spout. There has been a semiprofessional repair to a small crack on the spout of the teapot. This hairline which extends about 1 inch down the spout. Is mostly visible when looking on the inside of ... morethe spout. The teapot is still usable. The damage, which also includes some tiny flaking at the rim of the spout, is hardly noticeable. There is some very minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise the condition of the teapot is excellent. There are no other chips, no other hairlines, no breaks, and no other problems. The teapot measures 6 1/2 inches wide from the handle to the tip of the spout and 5 1/2 inches tall. Good luck and bid with confidence. Meissen Pug 18th Century with light damage
This lovely Meissen Pug has seen a bit of a hard time in its life. If you love Pugs this would be a must. But know that he took a fall and his base has a crack which was repaired years ago. I have attempted to show these repairs, but in general, it is pretty good. It is tiny, like 2nd 3/4 inches tall, but the green is exactly as it should be. The collar is to die for, and the close up on the face us finely painted. This is what I think, and maybe I am wrong, but I have been to the museums in Vienna and Paris and have studied this form. Very Duchess of Windsor looking, and for any collector of Meissen, it should find a new home somewhere in this world. I purchased it years ago from a wonderful dealer who had the best eye in the business and have loved it, but it us now time to let him go. That's about what I have to say about it, so please ... morelook closely at the pictures as they tell the story better than I. If you know good porcelain you should be right at home. RARE Viennese Early 18th Century Du Paquier Porcelain Tea Pot Hand Painted
Selling is a rare early 18th century Du Paquier porcelain tea pot. This Viennese piece is 4 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" from handle to spout. The piece has a paneled spout which shows minor roughness. No chipping. The tea pot is hand painted with blossoms in colors of reddish orange, purple, blue, yellow and green. There are even leaves on the inside of the top rim. The glaze is still nice and shiney. The pot does have a missing lid. It also has a spider crack near the spout. The crack seems to have some slip in it and the painting seems to disguise the crack with branches, it is very possible this was done in the factory. This piece does have a couple flaws but is also very rare. It would make a great addition to your home or collection.
