Which only gave it more character to us, you be the judge, the tarnish is nicely shadowed on the humble yet ornate handmade piece. There is a small bend in the front and another even smaller, dent on the lid. Also, someone drilled a hole in the bottom of the pot to better serve whatever purpose they had it for(perhaps for drainage as a planter) Both of the above mentioned flaws were present already when we purchased it June 10, 2000(13 years ago) when we paid $257.25 at the Antique Market of Michigan City, Inc, Our original receipt is tucked inside the coffee pot. Stamped Derby Silver quadruple plate. Derby Ct. numbered 2003(remember we purchased it as an antique in 200, so 2003 is the numbered part, not the year. Again, this is a nice heavy piece. Stand alone weight 8.5 lbs. without packaging) Assembled it measures 21 inches tall, the widest point is 10 inches. The pitcher alone measures 11 inches by 7 inches. ANTIQUE GINORI DOCCIA LUSTER COFFEE POT FARMLAND SCENE Here is a gorgeous Ginori( Doccia) luster coffee pot. It is about 10 inches tall and 6-3/4 inches handle to spout. The coffee pot has a luster finish. Scalloped swirls at the base, and a raised grasses design at the base of the spout. The pot is decorated with a farmland scene of two women harvesting grain and three sheep, framed by hand painted gold flowers. The body of the coffee pot is in very good condition with just on tiny black pit in the finish on the back of the pot. The lid, however, has been extensively re-constructed with a 1-1/2 inch wide piece still missing. The pot is back-stamped as shown. This is a beautiful and rare chocolate pot marked LIMOGES BERNARDAUD& Co. FRANCE, mark that dates the piece to ca. 1900-1914. But it was decorated in 1922. Signed with the initials of the artist and dated. The decoration consists in a wonderful white mother of pearl iridiscent color and heavy gilding on the handle and spout. The style is Art Deco. Made in Paris in the mid nineteenth century, c.1850, it has an octagonal based shape, and comes decorated in a rare european chinoiserie pattern with elements of the"hundred antiques" following the chinese"precious objects" tradition. I don't know if it actually dates to 1856 or if that is the first time this mold was used or what. The pot is 8" tall, 11" with the lid on, with the lid off it makes a great vase. There is some crazing on the base but otherwise the pot is in very good condition, the lid is cracked and has been glued. I have a matching large sugar bowl listed in a separate auction. Antique Doulton Burslem Coffee/Tea Pot
This auction is for a very rare. Antique porcelain coffee/tea pot by Royal Doulton Burslem, England. It is hand painted on creamy white background with raised gold accent on flowers. There are two major flaws- a decoration at the very top of the lid is missing and there is a crack on the handle at its top connection to the pot. The crack is very hard to find and I am not sure if it will be visible on the pictures, but unfortunately it is there. Other than that the pot is in very good age appropriate condition with some slight crazing and a very tiny hairline by the rim of the lid. It is being sold as found and may use some cleaning. The pot stands approximately 10.75" tall and is about 6.5" wide between the end of the spout and its handle. It is clearly marked at the bottom and initialed by the artist. Antique English Pearlware Coffee Pot Welcome to my auction! For your consideration is an unmarked antique Pearlware pottery coffee pot. Made in England(perhaps Staffordshire) during the very early 19th century. Blue and white transfer printed decoration. The glaze has a slight bluish tint, mainly on the lid and in the areas of the body where the cobalt has pooled. Measures 12.25 inches to the top of the lid finial; the body is about 9 inches tall. Total weight is 2 pounds and 9 ounces. Condition: The dome shaped lid has a large break on one side. As well as a"stable" hairline crack stemming from this area. The spout has a chip on the tip, and there is a glaze chip a bit farther down. There is some wear to the glaze on the upper right edge of the handle and a glaze chip to the bottom of the handle. Otherwise, the body of this item ... moreis in relatively good condition with no cracks or other major damages. There is some overall crazing and darkening/staining to the glaze, but this would be expected in pottery and earthenware of this age. As a point of interest, the transfer print on the broken lid has been applied upside down. Even with the damages, this is a very interesting and decorative piece! Most likely made in England during the early-to-mid 19th century. Brown transfer printed decoration with a seated lady and anchor. Platinum or silver lustre trim and decoration. The cream colored glaze has a slightly bluish tint, especially on the base where the cobalt has pooled. Measures about 11 inches to the top of the lid finial; the body is about 8.75 inches tall. Total weight is 2 pounds and 3 ounces. Condition: There are quite a few condition issues with this coffee pot. But this is still quite an interesting and decorative piece. There's a hole in the body(to the left of one of the transfer printed decorations) and a couple of tiny hairlines stemming from this area. This delicate yet sturdy set includes a lidded pot. Lidded sugar bowl, creamer and tray which all feature the same daisy floral motif against a pale green background. Unglazed and hand painted, each piece is signed by the artist. Although none of the pieces in this particular set are stamped, I have many other pieces by this same artist and they are predominately stamped with, Plankenhammer Floss Bavaria Germany" so it's most likely that this set was made by the Plankenhammer factory as well. There is one small hairline crack on the pot lid base(see image) But this is hidden when the lid is in place. This is a beautiful antique ceramic coffee or teapot. As you can see from the photos. There are no chips or stains. Having said that, the gold is worn in places due to its age. I am offering for your consideration and fresh out of a beautiful. Old estate, this ca. 1890s probably Austria or Bavaria hand painted coffee tea pot. It is about 9 1/2 inches to the top of the lid, is about 8 inches from spout to handle and is marked C.T. on the bottom.
